You should not clean the ears before or during use. Doing so will disrupt the enzyme system. You can wait 5 days before administering this solution.

Our sweet sweet orange boy is our medical mystery/ problem, this child has had a yeast infection in his left ear for 8+ months that we just COULD NOT get rid of, antibiotics in every form and of every strength, ear cleansers in all the different strengths, creams, ear wipes non medicated and medicated. We are already on a grain free yeast free food because of his stomach issues and his chicken allergy (don’t get me started on cat food that doesn't contain chicken) We’ve done EVERYTHING short of surgical options and even those were not a 100% fix for his problem. We’ve been using this product as it directs for 3 days and OH MY LANTA the DIFFERENCE it has made already, no more crust hanging from his ear, no more smell, no more crust flying in the air when his shakes his head, no more junk left on the bed from him cleaning his own ears, it’s so great! I’m what you could call a helicopter parent, an overly controlling one if you will; I’m extremely picky on what we use on them, around them, for them. We have Binks who is our medical mystery, we have Toby that has extremely sensitive skin along with his own medical problems and then we have 2 brand new Kits that I brought home as bottle babies, plus we’ve had a babe that had asthma and heart problems so for good reason it takes me a hot minute to make a decision that’s not suggested by our vet that I trust 100% so when I tell you I went on this ear cleaner hunt for near 3 weeks I’m not joking but my mom gut kept coming back to this product and I’m so glad it did, our boy no longer plays for 30 seconds and then has to itch or shake or nothing because his ear isn’t bothering him, it’s clearing up so well and I’m fully hoping that this is what knocks this infection OUT!( The photo attached was how his ear use to look; I know not a great photo but he hates his ears messed with )

Worked on my cats ear issue.

one day I realized the back of my cats ear looked like sticky and I couldn't clean it very well. I used cat wipes. Then ugh.. I noticed the area she was sleeping in her bed is a corner and both sides of the corner walls has nasty brown drip marks. I cleaned them. I wash her bed reguarly cause she is a hairball vomiter. couple days go by and her ear looks nasty. one ear has was full of blackness and she was holding her ear a little so inspected and was horrified I thought she had ear mites. all this black balled up soft sticky wax. I got tweezers pulled it out. it did not smell at all. her ear looked normal norlt red or anything just a boat load of eax pouring out so much it was gathering at the back of her ear when she slept. I was low on money so I decided she must have some sort of fungal or yeast issue. But she's indoors. She does not have mites. My other two cats perfectly clean healthy ears. so I bought this stuff and man it's nasty as first. she was producing that large black chunk every couple days and every time I put the drops in she shook and it splattered I had to clean it all up it's so gross. so then I took her outside to do it. and she hated it. held her head to the side fir like 1 hr every time. but its soothing so I know it doesn't hurt her. anyway. it took two weeks of every day application and cleaning this leaking wax issue. finally. she has cleared up. 100% issue gone. both ears are healthy and neither are leaking any fluids. she back to her old self. its been almost 2 months ths and no way return. I still don't know what she had but it sure was nasty.

Cleared up a very stubborn ear infection

I almost never write reviews but felt I had to for this product because it's so amazing. My lab has had a chronic ear infection for months with lots of black gunk,

I almost never write reviews but felt I had to for this product because it's so amazing. My lab has had a chronic ear infection for months with lots of black gunk, pus, redness, and itching. She was constantly pawing at and head shaking. I took her to the vet several times, did two rounds of antibiotic ear drops, one treatment that had to stay in her ear for two weeks, and then several weeks of a prescription ear flush solution daily and nothing touched it. Spent almost a thousand dollars with no results :(. I started to research OTC and alternate solutions and found Zymox. Tried the blue Zymox first, then the gold one. They helped a little but didn't completely clear it up. THEN I found the red Zymox and this stuff has worked like magic and has cleared up my poor pup's antibiotic resistant ear infection FINALLY!!! I would recommend this to anyone who is struggling to clear up their fur baby's ear infection. I did also buy the Zymox ear wipes and because her infection was so bad with so much gunk, I did go against the instructions and cleaned her ear with the wipes for the first couple of days and then used as directed. Hopefully I won't have to, but I will defiantly buy this and use again. Thank you!

Absolutely Amazing

My 13 yo pug has skin allergies and frequent ear infections. At least 6-8 a year for several years. Constant rounds of antibiotics..they would clear up for a while

My 13 yo pug has skin allergies and frequent ear infections. At least 6-8 a year for several years. Constant rounds of antibiotics..they would clear up for a while then recur. My vet recommended I clean his ears with a clotrimazole ear cleaner as needed..this seem to exacerbate the issue. Having spent many thousands of dollars in vet bills..at 250-300 per visit I decided to do my own research and come up with a treatment plan since my vets treatment plan was just bring him in we’ll switch up antibiotics pay us and we’ll see you in a month or so. I have to admit I’m more than angry that my vets never recommended zymox..unfortunately I think I know why. I found Zymox and read the reviews and watched some infomercials and ordered it did the instillation for 7 days and voila..it has been 6 months since we've seen the vet and my dogs ears are clean and infection free. I occasionally use the ear cleaner to wipe the inside of the ear but I don’t irrigate the canal. That makes it worse. He also has skin issues losing hair hot spots itching. I bought the complete line of Zymox and his skin is slowly improving as well. I bathe him once a week with the Zymox shampoo and use the cream for any irritated areas. My dog no longer has ear chronic ear infections thanks to ZYMOX.

You DONT clean their ears first!! You use as directed into their ear canals then massage around the outside of their ears to help the solution get where it needs

You DONT clean their ears first!! You use as directed into their ear canals then massage around the outside of their ears to help the solution get where it needs to be to start cleaning then healing the inner ears. Any dirt, extra ear wax, infection stuff is flushed up into the top of the ears. This makes it easier to carefully remove from their ears. Expect them to shake their heads after treatment and around their ears outside massage. They will have clean ears by you following the directions intially then make sure to reapply as needed after the ears are cleaned and healing after beginning treatment. My German Mal enjoys jumping into bodies of water with no hesitation resulting in ears infection which meds from our vet has not helped her getting rid of these frequent ears infections!! I bought this here from Chewy in hopes this would help. After receiving this I read directions for her intial treatment. After following directions I applied it to inside of her ears which she was trying to be so patient but was used to no relief unfortunately. As I had finished treatment in both of her ears was massaging the outside area where her inner ears canals are. She was smiling and enjoying finally the relief we had been hoping for!! I truly recommend this product for those dogs & cats who is having difficulties healing their infections in their ears!!

It worked! Less head shaking now

I put two drops in each ear for 7 days, and the brown/black gunk in my dog's ears has greatly decreased! I supplemented this with cleaning his ears a few times throughout

I put two drops in each ear for 7 days, and the brown/black gunk in my dog's ears has greatly decreased! I supplemented this with cleaning his ears a few times throughout the week as the drops loosened things up that were originally too deep to get. Money well spent - cheaper than seeing the vet and getting antibiotics, which I also didn't want to do anyways. So if you're hesitant to get expensive drops like I was, take the chance and do it!

Very Effective

I have 2 Scottish fold cats. Their ears have folds within their ears so they tend to get dirty. I literally have to use ear wipes to clean their ears every day

I have 2 Scottish fold cats. Their ears have folds within their ears so they tend to get dirty. I literally have to use ear wipes to clean their ears every day. So I was looking for something that would be a preventative solution and decided to try this product. Although it’s pretty expensive, it works so for me, I’m getting what I paid for. Within 2 days of use, both my cats had really great results. No more buildup of that flaky dark brown gunk. My cats stopped shaking their heads too and the scratching stopped so for me, this was a great alternative than going to the vet and spending a fortune on the visit and the medication.

I do not recommend not seeing the vet for serious chronic issues because our pets really deserve the best we can afford to provide. Having said that though I will say my cats did see the vet for ear issues and were given meds that didn't totally cure the problem. I ordered this in desperation after reading as many reviews as possible including any negative. In fact I usually scroll to negative reviews first. Anyway so many goid reviews decided it was worth a try. It has made a life changing difference in the one cat that has suffered ear issues from the day we rescued which was 10 yrs ago. I think she finally feels good. In the past she'd scratched until she was ripping her hair out, shake her head viciously if you petted near her ears and hide in the cat tree. Now this beautiful girl seems to hear better and has completely changed the way she socializes. No longer hides in the cat tree. The other cat we used the on had a very serious infection. I thought he had a stroke and was dying because he had no balance and flopped over unable to stand before vet diagnosed the infection. We treated with antibiotics but he still had a tilt to his head and vet said it could take a while and more treatments with more antibiotics. We decided since we had this to give it a try in him. He has improved dramatically. No tilt anymore. Very happy to have found this product.

I have been using Zymox for over 5 years. After several vet visits I started to research alternatives to antibiotics. The antibiotics would clear it up, but it would always come back and pretty quick. His ears smelled and had a thick brownish black substance in his ears. He would scratch and shake his head constantly. He was miserable. I noticed after 3 days that his ears were clearing up, the scratching, shaking of his head, and the smell were all gone.i followed the directions and used it for 7 days. I use it once a week now, and we have no issues with his ears anymore! My dog seems to enjoy it when I put it in his ears. Keiko will sit still and let me massage it in his ears. He is a happy guy now! Most helpful product I have ever purchased for my dog! 10/10.

WOW! Amazed by the results

I have a 70lb female pitbull/bulldog rescue who had a terrible 8 month start to life. Her skin and ears have been a challenge since I got her. I tried every ear wash, ear wipe, antibiotic from the vet and even did a diet change. Absolutely nothing has worked to clear up her issue. I felt like such a failure because I couldn’t get her the relief she so desperately needed. She would scratch until she bled, shook her head to the point where she hardly got any sleep and was just miserable with only having fair days. I looked on Chewy and read the reviews for this product. I ordered it and received it with 24 hours. My dog is now on day 3. She is a completely different dog! She is hardly scratching her ears, and doesn’t try to run and hide from me to put the drops in. She’s playing like a puppy, she’s 3 years old. This medicine did exactly what it said it would, by breaking down the gunk with enzymes. The amount of exudate that exited her ears when she shook her head was horrifying. I know she can hear now and she is sleeping through the night. The smell from her ears has reduced 85%. I can’t wait to see how she is after I finish the allotted dosage and days.
