The amount of drops to use will vary based on individual pet and their condition. You should squeeze this product liberally into the uncleaned ear, filling their ear canal. Gently massage and work into the infected area. Wipe away any excess. Apply for 7 days, 14 days for chronic infections. It is safe for extended use on persistent cases.

I was putting another ear infection medicine on my dog. When I get this one do I clean my dogs ears before putting the zymox or do I just put it ?

Amazing product, works better than anything the vet prescribed

My Plott Hound was plagued with severe ear infections. He would come to me in the middle of the night crying and shaking his ears. I tried what my vet prescribed and it made it worse. My house would smell awful from the ear infection and it kept getting worse every time I used the medication from our vet. I saw Zymox and noticed it had hydrocortisone to help with the discomfort. Enzymes were what made the product so effective. I tried it on my dog, after reading the instructions NOT to clean the ears first. I did 10 drops per ear and then massaged it and let him shake his head. It helped him feel more comfortable immediately due to the hydrocortisone. Within a couple weeks it cleared up the infection and there was never any awful smell from his ears during the use or ever again. Because he had chronic ear issues that we had fought for years without any results from other treatments, I continued to use it as a preventative treatment too. I would treat his ears with the Zymox a couple times a week, and it NEVER came back. This product saved my poor dog from so much pain, discomfort, and misery. He actually enjoyed it when I treated him with it. His breed is very susceptible to yeast & bacteria infections in the ears. Some dog breeds just are susceptible to ear issues. I recommend this product for anyone who has a dog with ear issues. It’s everything that the label says and more!! I tell everyone I know that has a dog with ear issues. I can’t say enough good things about it, or how it changed my life and my dog. Please try this for yourself, you won’t regret it and will be as happy & impressed with it. You won’t use anything else for your pets ears and will tell your friends/family to use it too!!

Easy to Use with Quick Relief

Our soon-to-be four year old doberman pinscher has natural ears and goes through periods that vary from regular ear itchiness to itchiness that leads to constant round the clock scratching. We have brought him to the vet numerous times to see if there was any sign of infection, allergy or some sort of reason that caused him to be so bothered. The vet is highly skilled and respected, so I know that he's not misding an underlying cause. It appears that our boy just has sensitive ears. He doesn't like any dirt in his ears, or dryness, or anything that makes them tickle or itch. His doctor prescribed him ear washes, and ointments to make him more comfortable. He told us to wipe his ears out daily with whichever OTC wipes our boy likes best. Despite trying every brand we felt like he could still be more comfortable. Since a lot of his ear washes weren't medicated, I decided to try this one. The bottle isn't big and bulky so it's easy to maneuver. We can sneak the drops in while he's laying in our lap because he doesn't notice the bottle. With the bigger bottles he wants to sniff them before they go in, and we don't him trying to lick the bottles. These were purchased and started when his ears were bothering him a lot. After the first use we noticed that he was hardly scratching anymore. We have four days of use left before I start using the daily wipes by Zymox. I have to say that we are all very grateful that we decided to try them!

My cat was treated by a veterinarian for a fungal ear infection, but the problem persisted even after prescription meds, until I used Zymox with Hydrocortisone. This relieved the constant itching and shaking her ear, allowing her ear to heal, and providing relief. Chewy delivered it quickly too!

Nothing works better!

At the start of Covid our groomer was forced to close temporarily and we were wrestling our strong young Lab into the tub for baths. It was a disaster and after 2 months he developed what seemed to be a double ear infection (the groomer is a pro, I am a novice and I'm sure we inadvertently got water in his ears). One morning the head-shaking started. One ear had a very wet water-sloshing sound, the other ear made no sound but he was digging at both. Due to Covid protocols at the vet that were very stressful I decided to do some heavy research and purchased this Zymox product. I love that it's thick, like a gel, so you can really get the drop(s) down into the ear and massage it in before he shakes. A much better coating in the ear. As the days went on, we did Zymox in the morning and some general wiping out before dinner. I was half horrified, half amazed, at what came out of each ear. The sloshing-sound ear had that yeasty brown mush; the other ear had legitimate hard chunks of ear wax. We kept on with the Zymox drops each morning. After 3 days he stopped digging and head-shaking. The sloshing sound went away. We continued for the full 7 days and on our last wipe-out of each ear, there was no yeast smell, no wetness, no pieces of wax. The cotton rounds we use came out perfectly white. This saved us a stressful and expensive vet trip, and more importantly it got my boy back on course and relieved his serious discomfort. I'm so happy to have this on-hand in case we have any problems in the future and I recommend it to many people. Hope this review helps.

I normally don’t write a review but this product warrants one. Our seven year old female rescue GSD Lillie Mae has had chronic ear infections since we brought her home last September. She’s been on prescription medicine twice and her ear infections came back. We have been faithful in cleaning her ears and feed her high quality dog food. We also tried natural cleaning remedies. I have researched ear infections in GSD’s, how to clean GSD ears, and products to use. I came upon Zymox in my researching and decided to give it a try. At the time our Lillie Mae had a infection in just one ear. I followed the directions and used it in the one ear for seven days. I put it in her other ear just the first day. After the seven days I have been cleaning our Lillie Mae’s ears once a week with this product. After two months of faithfully using this cleaner our Lillie Mae has had NO ear infections. Her ears are very pink and look so very healthy. I fully recommend this product.

It was my first time trying this product and it helped my dog's ear infection. I didn’t want to pay $100+ for a vet visit since it’s gotten very expensive. I read the reviews and decided to try it out and I’m pleased with the improvement I’ve seen. I unfortunately was not consistent for the 7 days that it states due to work, but I did do it for 3-4 days and I noticed less irritation/ inflammation and less wax coming out. I believe it relieved my dogs ear discomfort since he would constantly shake his head before this product and seemed to always be uncomfortable and stressed. :( After using this product he seems calmer, less pain, and no shaking. His demeanor is better (those who know your dogs body language very well will understand. ) Plus it seemed to clear the actual infection but my dogs normal earwax still continues but very little and that is expected anyway. Regardless I’m content since I have a senior boy and wanted to alleviate his pain and it seemed to be successful! Will continue to shop at Chewy.

Maya is already up there in age so she does have health issues one of them was an ear infection. This ear infection was horrendous her ear was oozing yellowish liquid and had this foul odor so bad that no one wanted to be around her. On top of that she seem to have a loss of confidence to the point where she just kept away from everyone. My sister told me that after countless times taking her to the Vet they told her that there was no cure for this ear infection and we should put her down. I knew this was not a reason to put her down I begin to do research on dog ear infections and came across Chewy.com and read the reviews about the Zymox Otic Pet Ear Treatment with Hydrocortisone. What everyone was describing in the reviews sounded exactly like what my fur baby had. So I ordered the ear treatment I kid you not that I saw improvement in two days, her ear was not inf lammed as much, the odor was not as bad, she had this new found confidence. After a week I took her to my local humane society and they were surprised that this treatment was working effectively. All she had a was an ear infection and slight yeast infection which has been clearing up the inflammation went down and the smell is no longer there she is back to being a happy dog!

My blk lab/border collie has always had problems with yeast infections in his ears. I was told by a vet that it is common for dogs with floppy ears. On my first visit to the vet it could have cost me up to $300 for a test to find out what type of infection and the medication to fix it. That time it cost me $200 I opted for the strongest medication without the test. Then a friend told me about Zymox. I could not be happier. This item has saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars by keeping my dogs ears clear of yeast. Initially it only took a few days to clear up his infection. I did the full week and now I only put a few drops in each ear every few weeks to keep the yeast from coming back. There is no comparison to the cost of this product and going to a vet. ***NOTE*** It would be best to initially take your animal to find out what is ailing them if they are having ear problems. This may not be your solution.

I bought this based on reviews I had seen, and it did not disappoint! My dog had an ear infection from ear mites I was treating. I was concerned with how red and irritated her ear was, found this, and ordered it. It came super quick! It wasn't supposed to be here until 3 days after I ordered it, but it came the next day! As you can imagine, I was relieved. I started it right away, and it worked quickly. I couldn't believe all the gunk that came out of her ear canal! Poor girl! I used it for 14 days, and now am just going to use it twice a week to ward off ear issues since she has them often. Her ears look so nice and healthy inside, now!
