What is the difference between this and the one that has 1% hydrocortisone?

This Solution contains 0.5% Hydrocortisone. The Zymox Plus Advanced Formula 1% Hydrocortisone Otic Dog & Cat Ear Solution has a higher level of hydrocortisone for more serious cases.

Can i use it once a week after treatment to maintain ?

Zymox Ear Solution is intended to eradicate a broad range of infections ranging from mild to severe, but many veterinarians have also found Zymox Ear Solution to be effective in maintenance of the ears, especially during the allergy season.

Saved me from vet bills!

My white pittie mix is allergic to half the world and struggles with ear health. Her allergies result in red bumps and irritation on the inside flaps of her ears. I use Zymox Advanced Enzymatic ear wipes every few days to keep her ears clean and healthy (every day if she's having allergy issues), but one morning she woke up with lots of gunk and redness in one ear and it was horribly itchy. Luckily, knowing she would probably need it at some point, I had already bought a bottle of this solution to keep on hand. I used it once a day as instructed (morning), plus used a wipe in the afternoon to remove the loosened gunk, and within 3-4 days, it was all cleared up! It's definitely not something you hope to ever need, but if you have a dog with lots of allergies that result in symptoms in their ears, or even just a dog with floppy ears that are difficult to keep clean, buy a bottle for a rainy day and try it before paying 3-5x as much for a vet visit. It didn't take much to clean my 60lb dog's ears so one bottle should last through several treatments at least, making it a good value. Also, my trick to reduce the mess is to have a cotton ball ready in hand, squirt the solution in their ear, massage the base of the ear to work in the cleaner, then insert the cotton ball and massage and tilt the dog's head so it soaks up most of the liquid. Obviously do NOT put the cotton ball in the ear to the point that you can't grab it to get it out, but by doing that, there will be much less splatter when the dog inevitably shakes their head when you're done.

Finally something that works

I have been fighting chronically itchy and grimy ears in one of my cats for a few years. The vets said to use something over the counter since the issue isn’t serious but most products have been ineffective, very painful to my cat, or gave her an ear infection and made the issue worse. I finally tried this one and within a day I had thrown all the rest of the treatments away. I apply it his product to my cats ears once every 2-4 weeks whenever I feel like they start to get a little dirty. She doesn’t like the feeling of the gel but it doesn’t hurt - one product made her scream so I know this cat will communicate clearly if the product hurts at all. The itch problems have vanished. They stopped after the first application. Her ears are clean and look great, finally no irritation. Never going back to anything else

Amazing stuff

I bought this in store originally for $30+ and so happy to have found it cheaper at Chewy. This stuff works! My dog got two horrible ear infections from swimming in a chlorinated pool too often while visiting my dad (my fault). He had inflamed red ear's with thick, greenish/brown infected ooze coming out. I was horrified! He's hard to take to the vet and doesn't like to be touched by strangers, so I tried this first. It gave him relief from the itching and head shaking overnight and cleared both infections within 7-10 days. I applied it daily for 10 days and oh man, tons of stuff came out. It's important to keep the ear dry from water during treatment, and to shake the bottle before application. Try and massage the ear for 10 seconds before letting them shake their head. Good luck! This stuff worked for me and my dog 10/10 recommend. If it doesn't get better within 5-10 days obviously go to the veterinarian.

I bought Zymox after reading about it and several other products. My dog had an ear infection of some sort that I was having a hard time dealing with. I would clean his ears often and use some ear medicine I had left over. It would work, but only for a few days. With Zymox I received it quickly in the mail and all you had to do was shake and place some drops into the ear(s). It worked that night and Rambo has been doing better every since. Compared to most mail order products, this one really surprised me and in a good way. Thank you.

Our lab developed a pretty bad ear infection really quickly. I read reviews on this product and decided to give it a try. We are on day 5 of using it and her ear has cleared up dramatically. Its thick which is great for making sure it goes down into the ear canal and she cant just shake it out right away like other products. Fairly inexpensive, effective product. Thanks!

Daisy is a 4 yr old AmStaff. We struggle with her allergies and the problems they cause. This year the allergies hit early and hard. She had skin, sinus and ear infections. 2 trips to the vet confirmed that they were treatable with antihistamines and environmental control steps. These ear drops gave her same day relief from the itching and irritation she'd struggled with for 2 weeks. We absolutely will continue with these until she is pain and itch free. Thank you for making her comfortable and back to her happy goofy loving self.

I have a solid white American Bulldog. They are prone to allergies. He has chronic ear infections. I have taken him to the doctor numerous times...they will put him on an antibiotic and 2 months later he's back to the same thing. This medicine was recommended to me by a farm and pet supply shop in Locust, NC originally...it has been a wonder drug! I ordered 2 bottles this time, because of the price from Chewy. It has cleared up his ear infection in less than a week. I have the other bottle as a back-up in case it happens again, but as long as I use the Zymox ear cleaner from here on out, he's normally good. I just hate that it took me 6 to 8 trips to the vet and probably $1000 to figure out this is what he needed. Another helpful tip is to add a teaspoon of cocunut oil on their food each day...this helps with skin allergies. I highly recommend this medicine! Thanks!

Vet said significant difference

My dog, Henry, had a yeast infection in his ear. This was discovered by his groomer. We could not get a vet appointment for over a week. I purchased Zymox right away and got it in just two days. It worked well and the Veterinarian said that she could get a sample, but that the Zymox was working well. She still put him on a systemic med, as the yeast had spread a bit to other parts of his body. However, the Zymox was very effective and I highly recommend it. It also relieved his itching and the yeast smell went away.
