Zoo Med Turtle Clean External Canister Filter, 30-gal

Got this for my 40 gallon and it stopped working after about 3 weeks. I keep taking it apart trying to figure out what isn’t working but can’t figure anything out. It was expensive and kinda of a waste. I wouldn’t recommend

It didn’t do anything drained and added all clean water within a few days the water wasn’t even clear. Hoses very cheap and collapse. Tried to return it. Was always pleased with chewy and have spent a lot of money with them over many years. Not anymore tried returning this filter since august 14th and have gotten nothing but run around. In my next shipment something was broken. Chewy is not what it once was and it should not take months to get your money back. I am now told will take another 6 to 8 weeks. So sorry to see chewy going down hill like this always loved them.

New filter is so much easier to clean Works very efficiently keeping my three turtle’s tank clean with less frequency cleaning out. Turtles eat more in the summertime and it’s so easy for the tank’s water to become dirty and cloudy. The Keynote of having this filter work properly is to make sure it is placed outside the tank and it’s plastic filter’s highest point is below the water level of the tank.

One of the easiest canister set ups I’ve ever had. It’s only been a month but my turtle tanks are still crystal clear. I haven’t had to change the materials yet so I can’t speak to clean up but so far so good.
