Zoo Med Floating Betta Log

My betta really likes this. I'll walk by and he's in it quite a bit. It has a hole on top, so I actually started feeding him in the hole, so his food doesn't go everywhere, and he seems to like eating in it just fine. The reason for the 4 stars is because I wish it came with a fishing line & suction cup, like the lotus flower does, to anchor it in one place. The tank filter pump blows it to the front of the tank, and that is where it stays. One end of the log is against the tank wall, so the betta can only swim inside of it from the other end....he can't swim 'through' it. I may get some fishing line & a suction cup, and anchor it in the middle of the tank so he can swim through it. Other than that, it is well made.

I'm very impressed with this. It's great quality, floats nicely and looks realistic. It took my fish Draco some time to get used to the strange new log in his tank but by the second day he was swimming and eating in it. Now I see him constantly hanging out in it. This thing even has his favorite leaf hammock beat!! When he knows it's feeding time he'll swim straight into his log because he prefers being fed there now. Right now it's propped against the tank because my filter is too strong and pushes my little guy around and I need to get one with controllable flow. But when I let the log float around (with supervision) Draco loves hanging out inside it and letting it carry him around.

My Betta fish loves his Floating Betta Log! He swims through it and sometimes uses the small knob on the side to sleep against. About a month after it being in the tank, it sunk to the bottom and stopped floating. I reached out to Chewy, explained the situation and gave them my order number, and a new one was sent to my house! Defective products happen sometimes, and I was so surprised by how easy the process was to replace it. Thank you Chewy for replacing my defective Betta Log; my Betta can’t wait for the new one to arrive!

Dojo loaches tend to lounge around their tank, often lightly suspended in floating plants, or slumped over a rock, playing dead. My biggest, Bart, likes to find places to rest near the surface, so he took to this hide right away. Not much of a hiding place, since he hangs out both ends, but he doesn’t care. He got pretty excited about the feeding hole, too. Or, if not the hole the appearance of a treat when he goes in for a nap. One other critter is fond of this log, too. Snails have figured out how to board the Loach Express. I’m transitioning to a larger tank, and I’ll want at least one more of these.
