What kind of fruits inside? Are they dried up?

Answer by ChewyApr 25, 2024
The fruits inside this mineral block are dried mango, dried banana, dried papaya, and dried pineapple.

My parakeets love it, they chewed the pink outer layer. What is the red later inside?

Answer by ChewyJun 17, 2018
Your bird chews the block to get the fruits inside. This formula includes a mixture of nutritious fruits (Mango, Banana, Papaya, and Pineapple) in a solid Calcium base.

How long should the block be in the cage before I have to replace/replenish it?

Answer by ChewyJul 20, 2018
The manufacturer recommends to replace after it is consumed or if it becomes soiled.

is the calcium from a vegan source are these vegan

Answer by ChewyAug 19, 2019
The Bird Banquet blocks calcium sources are ground oyster shell and ground limestone. This would not be considered vegan due to the ground oyster shell.

I wish these were bigger.

I have a little parrot who loves to chew. He gets really crazy with chewing in the spring so i bought him one of these and he loved it. But he ate the whole thing in a weeks time. He is now on a second one. I wish they made these bigger since they are small blocks and parrots will chew this whole thing to dust within 1-2 weeks depending on the size of the parrot. I also got the vegetable version of this as well and he ate that one within a weeks time as well. My bird loves it but sadly it only lasts a week. The time frame of this chew lasts 6-9 days at the most for my little parrot. I have a Senegal parrot if that helps. Not a big parrot at all and the block is the right size for his size but man i can't believe he chews it to dust within a week. I thought this would last a whole month since it seemed so hard on the outside but once he got passed the harder outer shell that poor chew block went super fast after that. This would work for the birds pictured on the package since they don't chew as bad as parrots do. If you have a parrot i would order at least 4 of these to get you through a month if your parrot is also going through that fun period of i have to chew everything in sight which seems to happen for my parrot every spring and late fall for some reason. Maybe that's normal for this type of parrot i don't know. All i know is if he doesn't have anything to chew on he will chew things he shouldn't be chewing on like the cage and food bowls and the noise of that drives me crazy. Lucky for me him chewing on this doesn't make any noise and he is very happy now with the mineral block. I have a big parrot as well which is an Afrian gray parrot. This block lasted 3 days with him. Not really the right mineral block for big parrots. I will look for a bigger one for him.

The speak conditioner is great

Ever since switching to this speak conditioner I have not had to put as many cuttle bones in the cages and they really like this a lot

Conures love it!

My green cheek conures will devour this. They get pellets and fresh veggies every day, and they still like the mineral blocks!

My bird won't touch it

I got this for my 20 year old cockatiel, in addition to his regular cuttle bone in his cage. He was terrified of it for a few days, now he just ignores it completely

I got this for my 20 year old cockatiel, in addition to his regular cuttle bone in his cage. He was terrified of it for a few days, now he just ignores it completely. I hoped he would like it, as it's full of vitamins and fruit. He might warm up to it, but it's well made, comes with a tie to attach to the cage. good price and something different. wish my guy liked it.
