ZIWI Peak Steam & Dried recipes should be stored tightly sealed in their original package in a temperature-controlled environment, away from direct sunlight and heat and used within 8 weeks of opening. The shelf life is 21 months.

My cat has always been a fish lover so when this came out as more "affordable healthy option" I snagged it asap. I say "affordable" in quotations because it is still extremely expensive and I can only afford to use it as a topper for her but I highly recommend it for "fish addicts" her coat is silky soft and she is full of energy again at the ripe age of 10. Even my parents notice a difference and agree its worth the money. I feed this and Acana indoor recipe in addition to fancy feast classic pates, RAWZ, and other wet foods. It was a great way to transition her over to a fish free kibble after learning about the ill effects of too much fish on kitties. I like that she still gets fish just in more appropriate servings.

I've got 2 cats and 2 dogs, I love them, but, my cats have a problem of eating the dogs food which they hadn't done before. I figured it was because they disliked their old food which I noticed dropped in quality so I began researching for an alternative. My older cat is also extremely picky food kibble wise so I spent a good while comparing every dry cat food to others. It came down to 2 options and I was admittedly going to buy the other option but turns out I removed it from the shopping cart and bought this one instead. Honestly, glad I did, my cats love it! It also works well with automatic cat feeders. Although, it smells a bit, mainly like fish, I personally took it as a good sign. It's a bit strong but it's also bearable and easily solved with a humidifier or a candle. A bit pricy too but with the way it's made and the quality of it, I think it's pretty fair. So far, none of my cats have bothered with the dogs food either! I'm pretty satisfied, my cats like it enough to stop eating dog food and, if the cats like it, I like it too.

Finding a healthy, well made food that my cats will eat is always a challenge. What they will eat one day, they won't touch the next. This food, however, was a group favorite! My cats loved it from the moment I opened the bag. I feel good feeding it to them, as it has such healthy ingredients. The kibble size is perfect, and it even smells good!

The other pet owners who've mentioned this are right. All flavors of this steam dried food from Ziwi Peak constipated my cats and they'd stopped urinating the way they'd normally been. The litter boxes were practically empty everyday. For how expensive this food is (not to mention how many times I'd purchased it), it's a shame to learn I was paying so much for something that was hurting my pets. Perhaps it's the peas and legumes that have no place in food for felines? Any case: stick with whatever keeps your pets regular. This definitely isn't it.

I appreciate that Ziwi lightly steams the fish and chicken meats in their kibble and then air dries it to give it a crunch and texture my cats were craving. I stopped feeding kibble years ago and feed mainly wet and raw food but my cats were craving something crunchy. They love this flavor and took to it immediately with no digestive upsets. I leave a small dish out overnight. Normally they wake me up at 5 am but since I started feeding the Ziwi dry at night, they’re letting me sleep in until 5:30 or 6.

Have heard amazing things about this food and thankfully my kitties love it. It's expensive but it's also very dense, packed with steam-dried protein, so you don't need to serve as large quantity compared to the cheaper brands that are full of fillers. In general you should avoid all kibble as it causes so many health issues (and vet bills) down the road. But this brand is the exception; it's not full of fillers hence the cost.

With the bird flu I had to switch my cats off of their freeze dried food. I wanted a food that was high in protein and with good ingredients. When I opened the bag to have both my cats try it, they went crazy for it! They both devour this food. I only feed them dry food once a day so the size and price of this food doesn't matter to me.

Completely different

Both of my cats used to love this food. It had a strong fishy smell. The last 4 bags I bought smell like cardboard. Neither of my cats will touch it now. Ziwi peak

Both of my cats used to love this food. It had a strong fishy smell. The last 4 bags I bought smell like cardboard. Neither of my cats will touch it now. Ziwi peak is 3 times the cost of other cat food. I bought it for quality ingredients but as far as I know it might be filled with corn now based on the smell. 4 bad bags and I’m done for good.
