I have had two Red-Eared Slider female turtles for 10+ years, they each live in a 125 gallon aquarium and they both LOVE, LOVE these- I bring this information up to attest to a lengthy history of having turtles. The treats, indeed, do float and they are hard as rocks, but, once they're in the water a bit and my two girls use their naturally given, powerful beaks (RES's have beaks! I don't know about other turtles), they demolished them. Even if the treats begin to sink down my girls race after them because they love these so much. Just one turtle Mommy's experience - I've bought dozens of bags.

I’ve had my turtle since i was 9 years old (i’m almost 23) and was super stoked to see that they still make these turtle chasers. When i was a kid they would actually float and my turtle had to put more effort in to eat the treat which was the whole point. Now they float for maybe 5 seconds max (if i’m even lucky) before sinking to the bottom. The only positive I can say is that my turtle still loves to eat them, but definitely disappointed that they no longer float like they did when i was a kid :/

May be better with a larger turtle

These turtle treats are larger than I thought and as hard as a rock. So I softened one in a cup with warm water. It did soften up enough to shred it up but the smell

These turtle treats are larger than I thought and as hard as a rock. So I softened one in a cup with warm water. It did soften up enough to shred it up but the smell is awful! I ended up pouring it into the goldfish pond and they seemed afraid of the pieces. Maybe they ate it after I walked away, they will eat most anything. Didn’t give any of it to the little painted turtle, didn’t want to foul his pool. If you have large aquatic turtles they may enjoy these.
