My dog had luxating patella in both his knees which led to severe arthritis. We tried a few different hip and joint supplements, including recommendations from his vet, but none of those had any noticeable impact on his condition. I have a 9 year old boxer, Samson, with pretty severe arthritis in his hips and back. He’s been on Gabapentin and Carprophen for the pain. I really hate the way those meds affect him. He is always so sleepy, or he just sits and stares into space. He’ll stand in the yard not moving, like he forgot what he went out there to do.
