FAQ

Zenrelia (ilunocitinib tablets)

Zenrelia is a prescription medication that relieves itching in dogs due to allergic dermatitis and helps control atopic dermatitis. The active ingredient, ilunocitinib, reduces the inflammatory response in your dog's skin caused by allergies, making your dog feel less itchy.

Once-daily Tablet

Zenrelia comes in an oral tablet that’s given once a day with or without food. It's easy to fit into your dog's daily routine. Always follow your veterinarian’s instructions.

Prescription Only

Zenrelia is a prescription itch relief medication for dogs at least 12 months of age. Ask your veterinarian if Zenrelia can help get your dog back to normal itching levels. They will evaluate your dog’s symptoms and determine the right tablet.

Dogs should not take Zenrelia for a time period before and after vaccination. Discuss your dog’s vaccine schedule with your veterinarian.

Signs of Allergic Dermatitis in Dogs

The most common sign of allergic dermatitis is excessive itching. Your dog might also bite or lick the itchy skin. Although symptoms might start as mild, they can progress to conditions such as hair loss and skin infection.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

See package insert including the Boxed Warning. For full prescribing information speak with your veterinarian, call 1 888 545 5973 or visit www.elancolabels.com/us/zenrelia.

WARNING: VACCINE-INDUCED DISEASE AND INADEQUATE IMMUNE RESPONSE TO VACCINES. Based on results of the vaccine response study, dogs receiving Zenrelia are at risk of fatal vaccine-induced disease from modified live virus vaccines and inadequate immune response to any vaccine. Discontinue Zenrelia for at least 28 days to 3 months prior to vaccination and withhold Zenrelia for at least 28 days after vaccination. Dogs should be up to date on vaccinations prior to starting Zenrelia. Do not use in dogs less than 12 months old or dogs with a serious infection. Dogs should be monitored for the development of infections because Zenrelia may increase the chances of developing an infection. Neoplastic conditions (benign and malignant) were observed during clinical studies. The most common side effects were vomiting, diarrhea and tiredness. Zenrelia has not been tested in dogs used for breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs and has not been evaluated in combination with glucocorticoids, cyclosporine, or other immune suppressive drugs.

LAME ! ALL the drugs that all these vets recommend SUCK ! don't settle for APOQUEL or ZENERELLA ! THE ONLY thing that has worked on my Beagle is called CYCLOSPORINE Modified - she has totally stopped shedding and scratching ALTOGETHER ..... it's like the miracle drug that No VET will tell you about for some reason ! maybe because it's about 1/2 the cost of the other 2 "treatments" (keep the PROBLEM but lessen symptoms)

My poor little Yorkie has been plagued by extreme itching for about 4 years now. Apoquel only worked for about 8 hours but isn't recommended to take more than once a day, meaning 16 hours of misery. I've tried both prescription & natural remedies but nothing helped. Zenrelia literally worked IMMEDIATELY and only needed once a day. No more itching!

My pug, Luna, started suffering from horrible allergies. It started about 5 years ago as just itchy skin and quickly developed into scaly scabs, missing fur, and her actually cutting her face open from itching so much. We tried everything under the sun. Every pill, every shot, every food diet, yet nothing worked. I would be up all hours of the night with her crying just feeling like the worst owner ever because I couldn't figure it out. I switched to a vet who specializes in dermatology and he recommended this. After two days, I noticed an immediate difference. After 3 months, I finally had my dog back! She's back to her playful and goofy self! Highly recommend!!

Stopped Itch Immediately!

My dog had struggled with itching for more than a year every day. He had sores and bruised skin. I had to put him in a cone because he would not stop. I tried Benadryl and Claritin which didn't work. I put him on Apoquel which sort of helped but was outrageously expensive. My vet then recommended Zenrelia and I was desperate so I tried it. It completely took the itch away and was even more effective than Apoquel and cheaper. It definitely isn't cheap overall but the results make it worth it. My GSD is completely comfortable, can rest, and his skin has cleared up. The only downside is you have to be sure that they are not going to do any vaccines soon. I worked with my vet on that and he was fine though. So happy I found this!

Prompt contact with the vet for the prescription, then very speedy shipping. thank you. It is also a little less expensive than the apoquel that we have been using. Vet said it is actually a different type of antihistamine, and may work better to help relieve itching.

Y'all have the nicest phone reps :) This new Rx for itching has made a huge difference for Blue - paw licking & tummy so red - just awful. Benedryl helped for a while but doping my dog multiple times a day was not ok. Vet suggested still giving it 2x a day (2 each dose) but I am not doing that - the Zenrelia is working for my 100 lb baby & doesn't knock him out all day. The Rx I was given said to give 2x a day but 1x has been working for Blue. Hopefully, for other dogs too - it's $$$ if given 2x daily.

My dog is a white american bully that seems to be allergic to the air even, he was on apoquel for atleast 5 years, it worked wonders until he started becoming immune to it, im not going monthly and spending 100 plus on a shot so he tried this. It works like apoquel once did but it does where off fast if a dose is missed and every allergy medicine needs your dogs liver monitored so you need to decide which is a worse problem. My boys allergies were so bad we thought he was gonna ripped himself apart. So medicine it is. Hes now almost 10 and has not had an adverse lasting problems.
