Which scent is best? I have the poop fighter lemongrass scent and its awful. Smells like lemon poop and its a no on the sceny. 😬

Answer by amysApr 18, 2026
The lavender is the only one that smells decent to me and seems to help with odor control

Is this litter sharp/hard on cat paws?

How often should the litter be fully changed if 2 cats use 2 litter boxes?

Answer by ChewyOct 29, 2019
How often you need to change your cat litter depends on how many cats you have and how often they use the litter box. World’s Best Cat Litter™ harnesses the concentrated power of corn for long-lasting performance, and customers report that they don’t have to change the litter as often as with other cat litters. Twice a week is a general guideline for replacing litter, but depending on your circumstances, you may need to replace it every other day or only once a week. If you clean the litter box daily, you might only need to change clumping litter every two to three weeks.

Has the corn in this litter been treated with glysophate prior to or at anytime during processing?

Answer by ChewySep 10, 2018
Glysophate is added to soil during the planting of the corn.

We originally started using this litter based on a recommendation from our vet, and it’s been fantastic. It controls odors extremely well, and the clumping is perfect- urine clumps stay intact, unlike with many other brands. One downside: it does leave noticeable paw prints around the house, especially on our dark-colored couch, so we clean it a bit more often, but it doesn't make a big mess, and it's easy to clean! Still, overall, both our cat and her humans are very happy with it!

Most pleasant litter

When I adopted my first kitty, I wanted to avoid the problems with clay litters so I chose a pine pellet type. Any wet litter would fall apart into soggy saw dust and was impossible to separate from the clean litter. The huge pellets got stuck between my kitty's toe beans and she'd have to do a deliberate *shake-shake* when she stepped out. It just wasn't working for us. Next I chose this Lavender Corn litter. She watched me as I poured in her new litter and sniff-sniffed the air, then climbed into the box and dove her head and shoulders into the grains for a moment, then got in position and peed. She was very grateful for this nice new litter! Function-wise, this litter is best. I don't really leave her business in the box for a week, I clean it twice a day, so odor control isn't really my concern. I never smell cat pee so I'm sure it's doing its thing. It forms clumps beautifully, her pee looks like little cookies when I scoop them out and they don't break apart. I DO flush this litter and the clumps will dissolve in the bowl like fine fish tank gravel. It's not gluey and won't stick to your scooper or the box. It does get tracked around a 1-foot radius from the box, however I think it's realistic to expect litter to be tracked in your cats paws, and a litter mat can help catch stray grains if tracking makes you feel a certain kind of way. I can tell my kitties are happy that the litter is lightweight and fine, like Grape Nuts, and they enjoy the lavender scent. The green Unscented kind is equally ideal and it's available to me locally if I run out in between Chewy shipments.

I've had kitties for years and love them dearly - but the litter box thing not so much. I added this litter to my shopping list one day and I was amazed. It's light, just the right absorbency to get the goods (either urine or poop) encased in a light litter cover and off it goes into the trash or layer it into your garden composting. It is the easiest to clean my litter boxes have ever been and I don't dread scooping because it is light and pleasant smelling rather than stinky. I'll never go back and this has saved me from hoisting heavy containers or litter around as well as $ since a little will go a long way because of how it captures your kitties business. I'd tried the plain previously and the lavender gives this the ultimate in fresh and (yes) relaxing. I've tried the crystals, the pretty, all the clay and dust free and this is so excellent. It's easy on the planet as well and my cats actually play in it when I put fresh litter in, or they give it a try right away. I can't say enough great things about it.

For many years I had always used Fresh Step. But, then it seemed that everytime it was “improved”, that just meant that more dust was added. I now have two adult cats, one with allergies. The last box purchased was just too much. I couldn’t believe the amount of dust that was flying about just with me scooping. And, what it must be like for the cats with their faces so near the litter. So, I started trying other brands to try and find a replacement with much less dust. A few had less dust but were still too dusty. Doing a Google search for a dust free litter lead me to “The World’s Best Cat Litter”. I have been using it now for nearly two weeks and I’m so happy that I decided to try it. One cat is sneezing less and the other no longer has the dark matter in the corners of her eyes. The litter is lighter, clumps better than the clay and doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. The cats had no trouble switching to it. I have had a very minor issue with odor but I keep a bottle of the Arm and Hammer litter box spray handy and spray a small amount every few days. This litter cost more but I think that what I save in Vet bills and having the home duct work cleaned and the problem of constantly trying to keep the basement and the upstairs free from the dust more than offsets the additional cost.

Really dusty, starts smelling bad after a few days.

This is the only litter I use because it is biodegradable, all natural, flushable and safer than hard clumping clay litter which can cause blockages if ingested

This is the only litter I use because it is biodegradable, all natural, flushable and safer than hard clumping clay litter which can cause blockages if ingested. My only complaint is, it is really dusty. I change his litter weekly because it starts to stink and turn to dust. The bag says it will last 2 cats 60+ days. Boy I wish that were true. A 28# bag lasts my one cat 3-4 weeks. I absolutely have to change it weekly, I can't just add litter to old litter because it literally starts turning into dust and smelling lIke urine. He tracks it all over the house and on my bedding. Dusty piles of yellow everywhere. I have to wash my bedding a lot more too. If I ever find a natural litter that doesn't get so dusty, and hold odor better I will switch, but for now I will deal with it to keep my cat safe and healthy.

This litter works SHOCKINGLY WELL. Yes, the corn litter has a bit of a strange smell, but let me tell you....it is SO worth it for the superior clumping and odor control. If you struggle with the smell i encourage you to use a febreeze plug in or some such and try it for a little longer. Clumps STRONG and well and there is very little urine smell - if any - after LONG TIME use; this lasts much longer than even everclean which was my go-to for over 20 years. no lie. full transparancy: So i did have to convince him to use it. for the first month to two months, i blended in some cat attract litter and just added a little more corn litter after each scoop session. Once i got to full corn litter and saw the superior clumping, there was absolutely no more convincing i needed. i'm now a corn convert. (and it's so much better for my kitty's respiratory tract!!!!!) Without exaggeration, i have used the same bag with my cat for over 1.5 months, and i still have litter left in the bag. And no one can tell i have a cat. Not kidding.

Great litter, but Chewy can't ship it intact.

I really do like World's Best litter. The Red bag and the Purple Bag are my two favorites. I like that it's flushable and doesn't have the fake-fresh / menthol smell

I really do like World's Best litter. The Red bag and the Purple Bag are my two favorites. I like that it's flushable and doesn't have the fake-fresh / menthol smell. Despite it just being straight up corn, it never smells like a litter box. Yes, it does track around the house a little bit. I see the occasional corn-dust paw print. But I'm not terribly bothered by that, as it wipes up very easily with a wet rag. I was excited to see a reasonable price on Chewy, but when I received my package today, the litter bag was burst open. At least a third of the contents had spilled into the box, and a jar of Inaba Churu tubes had also been broken as well. All other items are covered with corn dust. Yikes.

I've had cats my entire life. I also have a cat sitting business and have used many litters when I visit cats. World's Best Cat Litter is, by far, the best litter, period. It is light. It doesn't harden in corners. Urine balls are compact and absorb quickly. It does have a corn smell... that's why I use the Lavendar. It has a light, not overpowering smell. Litter tracking is minimal. Lasts a long time. All natural-safe for kitty and you. It claims to be flushable, but I don't trust that. I scoop the urine balls, but do flush the poops. Worth the extra money. I also use a litter genie to collect what I scoop. Great system.

New cat owner. Have just one and she's still a kitten but has never once had a litter box problem though I've changed her litter around ever since I got her and use an enclosed box. So if she's not picky, I decided I will make things the most convenient for me. That includes scented, flushable litter in an enclosed box. I scoop everyday but just once usually. This is a little weird but hopefully helpful: Day 1: smells great-mostly like corn. But just amazed. Kitten uses it no problem but can't even tell when she uses it because odor control is THAT good. Did I mention no dust? And better for the environment since it's sustainable. Day 2: still smells great and masks odor. Clumps really well. Flushing it is really convenient. Day 3: still going really well thinking this is the worlds best cat litter Day 4: starting to smell bad. Even after diligent scooping an odd rotten smell lingers. Also already looks dusty at the bottom. hoping it doesn't really go down in quality this quickly. The clay litters I've used have lasted a month before they start to need changing. If this litter lasts less than a week, it's cost prohibitive.
