When your dog has been blind since birth and then becomes deaf in his old age, his world gets very small. VERY small. There’s not much to recommend it. This is the sweetest, gentlest, most loving pittie who ever breathed, and if all he has is taste and smell, I’m going to make sure he enjoys both of those to the max. Lickable treats are the best things that ever happened to him. More than anything he loves his people, and after that he loves walking in his hood reading the peemail. And leaving his own. And when all is said and done, he must absolutely nothing better than to lie on the sofa or the floor and lick a treat until it’s gone, and then chew on the holder for a while. This makes my dog happy. What makes him happy makes me happy. You see how it is.

My standard poodle faith had TPLO surgery on her left back leg. Recovery is quite extensive and it’s very important for them to remainconfined and as inactive as possible. The first two weeks are critical. She will be confined for the next 4 to 12 weeks. This product not only has been so helpful in keeping her busy but she really enjoys it. Shewas busy licking the popsicle for a good 45 minutes. After that, she was very tired. I highly recommend this even for dogs that are post surgical. My other two dogs enjoy them also. I actually have the molds to make my own inserts, plus I buy the refills to have on hand

This treat occupied my dog for almost an hour. He loves them. My chlege is that over time, the container becomes difficult yo screw and unscrew. I don't know if it is a function of age or using the dishwasher. It's at ths point that I cannot unscrew it. I've e en used oils to help but it doesn't always.

Molly loves the popsicle and it occupies her for 1t least 15 minutes. However, after using it after only a couple of weeks, it is very difficult to open again once she's finished. People on facebook mention the same thing and suggest using a little vegetable oil on the threads. Ive done that and it helps a little, but even with a LOT of vegetable oil (which makes a mess) it is still difficult to open. Just not AS difficult.

For reference I ordered the extra-large power chewer dispenser and the extra large treats. The treats get lost in the dispenser which made it extremely difficult for my dog to get at. He did try though. Perhaps if your dog has a long, narrow muzzle like a poodle or dachshund this could potentially work for you, if you can open the dispenser, which is a whole other problem with this system. However, dogs with a broader muzzle may struggle with this.

I have a large 65-pound dog and a large size pupsicle holder. My dog makes quick work out of any treat. I normally make my own refills from canned dog food, and it lasts about 10 minutes. Yesterday, I gave her one of these (large size, unfrozen) and it actually took her 20 minutes to eat it! My dog has a pretty sensitive stomach, but this did not affect her digestion or poop (caveat: we've only given it to her once). We've tried a lot of frozen food holders, and this has been the best -- it's easy to hand-wash and keep refills on hand, and it holds her attention for a long time. We've had the holder for a few months now, and we always hand-wash it. It's still openable, though it's a little tough to close sometimes.

I didn’t taste them, but the dogs love them. I use them when we go for rides. The younger one jumps all over the back seats and won’t settle down and enjoy the ride. So the pup cycle in the rubber toy keeps her occupied for a while.

No concerns with the refills, however the containers are a nightmare, as after a few uses the screw in ctop sticks like glue. I emailed the company, they suggested soaking it in boiling water and then rolling it against the edge of the sink to unstick it, that worked a few times but as the rubber gets softer the containers are almost impossible to open. I have purchased two of these, both extra large and large, and have had the same problem with both. I even have tried coating the threads with olive oil before screwing the container together. My doggie park friends complain of the same problem and now basically just use the container as an empty ball.
