Hi couple of weeks ago I sent out my dog’s test but I didn’t save the website information I think it was wisdom panel I bought it from Chewy, my question is do I get the results from Email or regular mail because I don’t know where to look. Thank you

How long can you wait to mail the sample back after obtaining the sample?

I would like to know exactly what my mixed breed puppy is down to percentages, will this test good be me a breakdown of all his breeds?

I have four dogs in one house. Does this test require the dog being tested drink from a separate water bowl than the rest of the dogs? And if so, for how long will I need to keep her separate from drinking after them to make sure her sample isn’t contaminated?

We recommend waiting at least an hour after the pup has eaten, shared a water bowl, or shared a toy with another dog before swabbing, in order to ensure that the sample is not contaminated. Additionally, we advise separating the dogs during this time.

The Wisdom Panel DNA kit works well enough, easy to use and the results are interesting. Good product, but slow processing and zero compassion for rescue situations is hard to overlook. What surprised me was both the turnaround time and the company response. One kit I mailed three weeks ago still hasn’t even been processed, and when I contacted them about testing puppies from a pregnant stray we took in so that the DNA information could help the rescue puppies get adopted, Wisdom showed no interest in helping... just a generic response and a possible sales offer. For a company built around dog lovers, that felt like a missed opportunity to support the people actually helping abandoned dogs.

Won’t last as long as your dog

I bought my test back in 2015 and discovered this year when I bought one for my cat that they “retired” my dog’s results. Never received an email or anything. Or

I bought my test back in 2015 and discovered this year when I bought one for my cat that they “retired” my dog’s results. Never received an email or anything. Or even an explanation of what “retired” meant. I couldn’t access the report anymore. When I asked why they said they changed systems suddenly and couldn’t email people because of the suddenness. So print out your reports and store them somewhere because my dog is still alive but his report isn’t.

Our vet recommended wisdom panel. I thought the price was OK. We're just interested in finding out what our purebred lab was :) She's a three month old puppy so swapping her mouth wasn't ideal, but we got it done. It took about two weeks to get our results and it's what we thought. I would definitely use it again. I just bought the basic and didn't do any of the health stuff. I did like it's like ancestry and gives you relatives.

Accuracy

When I got the DNA results for my puppy I was amazed at how accurate they were from what I already knew. I did not supply any breed information with the test swabs

When I got the DNA results for my puppy I was amazed at how accurate they were from what I already knew. I did not supply any breed information with the test swabs so was pleasantly surprised at what the test told me. The test pointed out one copy of a MDR1 gene medical problem that the vet was made aware of. The only down side was the stiff nylon brush that was used for the cheek DNA collection. I was expecting a cotton swab so this was a little rough. When I went to do the second swab on the other cheek she was having none of it. However, I would use this company again should the need arise

Didn’t seem accurate

I did the test didn’t upload any pictures but the results don’t seem right . There’s poodle part is correct but the chihuahua and others listed don’t seem right

The test was fairly easy to use and results took a bit over 2 weeks. I wish I used the other test . It was hard to decide which test so many choices.

First of all, she’s very small and second of all she’s very dark brown and white and she’s definitely some type of terrier, so don’t waste your money plus it took almost a month to get the results in..

Even his vet was convinced that he was mixed with something else. His results came back that he is 100% springer spaniel. I did not upload any photos or provide any information about him prior to receiving my results. This leads me to believe they are accurate!
