Our girl is on a special low protein, low phosphorus diet for kidney disease. I see they are low in protein, how about the phosphorus? It’s so hard to find a good daily chew to meet this criteria. Thanks so much

Answer by ChewyDec 18, 2019
These treats have a phosphorous content of approximately 0.20% on an as fed basis. Due to your pet's diagnosed condition, we recommend consulting your Veterinarian to see if these would be a good fit for your pet's current diet plan.

Dogs beg for them!

These are a safe dental chew, made in Canada which is as safe as the USA. Excellent safe ingredients. I had my veterinarian check to be sure. I buy them in quantity as my 2 dogs get one every day after their dinner. They beg for them beforehand. I have attached a photo of what happens when they arrive from Chewy.com. Standing vigil and not willing to leave the box! And I like the Chewy price.

Our pups love them

They’re great little busy bites- when I want to reward calm behavior, distract them for a few minutes or reward good behavior. Even my picky eater will enjoy them

They’re great little busy bites- when I want to reward calm behavior, distract them for a few minutes or reward good behavior. Even my picky eater will enjoy them :) we rotate between these and the veggie sausage ones. Good for the young one who has a desire to chew stuff and my older guy who had to have some teeth pulled likes them too! They stalk me when I’m in the pantry hoping for more!

I don't want to give any stars. I bought this X-small size for my two dogs, 7 lbs. Its edge is very sharp, hard and it can injure your dogs. It cut my dog's gum and inside his cheek deeply. My dog's cheek was swollen, blood and pus burst out of his cheek and gum. His bleeding didn't stop for 3days. I had to bring my dog to the E.R. two times. He had to be sedated to operate his gum and cheek. I paid about $500 for his treatment because of this cheap treat. His fur on the wound came off and hasn't grown back. Because of this dangerous treat, my baby has to live with fur disorder. Additionally, my other dog vomited from this worthless treat. This treart doesn't melt well like plastic in dogs' stomach. I like Chewy but not this treat. Chewy MD has to consider and test  products properly before selling. They have to guide the risks of factors about this treat on the instrution page. I hope Chewy doesn't sell it anymore to protect our fur babies from this adulterated food.

Be careful

Both my dogs had no problems with Greenies brand dental chews, so I wanted to try Whimzees. I had heard great reviews from other pet owners. BOTH my dogs threw up the medium sized treat in various pieces within 12 hours. So I stopped for a while, thinking it was a fluke, and then gave them both it again about 2 weeks later. SAME exact result. I'm thinking my dogs had a problem digesting lecithin, because that is the only ingredient high up on the list that is different from Greenies. One of my dogs was known for having sensitive stomach and had to have grain free food, but the other is a garbage disposal basically who can tolerate almost anything. So my advice is, be careful. I will not give them to any dog I have in the future. EDIT: the sensitive dog was a Border Collie/Husky cross, the other is a mutt with mostly Chow, Boxer and Rottweiler.

Great dental chew

All 4 of my dogs love these chews and get very excited for them. Also great to put in a Kong with peanut butter to add more mental stimulation.

I found Whimzees about 5 months ago, and my dogs love them! I give them one after breakfast. My dogs weigh 60-70 pounds, and the medium works for them although I do give them the large Whimzees Rice bones instead of this variety from time to time. I like these longs sticks as it seems to take them a decent amount of time to chew them. I had my 12 year old's teeth cleaned and then started using these. When I took my dog in 4 months after the cleaning, the vet couldn't believe how great her teeth still looked. My 6 year old's teeth had a lot of build up and didn't look good at all. His teeth are looking so much better, and our vet commented that he needed his teeth cleaned within the year, but there was no rush. My dogs love them and they are helping to keep their teeth clean--I couldn't ask for more!

Super Hard and Doesn't Seem Safe

I did some research on a healthier alternative to Greenies and found Whimzees. These are extremely hard dog sticks. Like really hard. I do not know how any dog could chew or digest these. Total waste since my 13 y.o. border collie has no teeth and could not chew them. Not that I would want him to break any of the stick off and digest it. I do not see how these are safe for pet consumption.

I ordered the bigger ones by accident. I normally don't write reviews. I still gave one to my smaller dog. He doesn't have interest in any type of chew. He went at that thing until his mouth was sore. Eating a big half. The day after gave him another and to my surprise plaque was coming off his teeth in pieces. I gave my bigger dogs one and they loved them too. Well worth buying. It will save me a dental visit.
