Weruva Classic Cat Foods

Weruva Classic Cat Foods are made using high-quality ingredients like boneless, skinless white meat chicken and hand-flaked fish loins. With ingredients you can see, these recipes deliver hydration-focused nutrition that’s rich in protein and low in fat.

Specifically Formulated for Cat Health

Cats are obligate carnivores, which means they only need meat and water to survive. All Weruva recipes are formulated with this in mind. The calories in each recipe come from three places: protein, fat and carbohydrates. The calories from meat are comprised of protein and fat with minimal, if any, calories coming from carbohydrates.

Hydration Focused Recipes

Hydration through meat to meet the needs of your obligate carnivore. Weuva Classic Cat Recipes are all natural, with no grain, gluten, carrageenan, corn, wheat, or soy.

Human Food Standards

Weruva pet foods are made in a state-of-the-art human food facility that caters to many countries, each with its own processing standards. Weruva proudly earned an “A” grade on The British Retail Consortium (BRC), which is one of the strictest standards.

About Weruva

Weruva is a family company, wholly owned and operated by pet parents David and Stacie Forman since 2006. They originally developed Weruva, a luxurious natural pet food, for their three rescued cats: Webster, Rudi, and Vanessa.

Answer by ChewyOct 02, 2019
All of Weruva's fish, with the exception of tilapia and basa, are wild-caught in the ocean.

Where is the tilapia sourced from?

Answer by ChewyJan 04, 2023
The fish farm that supplies the tilapia has obtained the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Certificate. Amongst other things, ASC focuses on environmental protection, community impact, food safety and traceability. The facility utilizes a modern waste water management system that meets international and domestic standards for water output. The supplier also achieved the ISO 14001 standard. The tilapia are fed non-GMO soy bean.

What is the serving amount for an 11-pound, full grown spayed female? (Both for a day of only wet food, or if I did one wet feeding and one dry feeding)

Answer by ChewyJan 05, 2021
The feeding chart may be located by clicking the “Feeding Instructions” tab, on the product page. The amount of food your pet requires will vary depending on their age, breed and activity level, but a pet's weight is one of the most accurate ways to judge how much to feed them. When combining wet and dry foods, it is best to take into account the pets daily caloric needs and ration the wet and dry foods accordingly to provide them with appropriate nutrition and calories. If uncertain, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian.

The store where I usually buy individual cans of this for my cat, the owner has actually toured the Weruva facility, & says it is all made in a human grade food facility, right next to human food. I have fed this to my furry buddy Reese since he was a kitten, even though at 3.5yrs old he's technically still a kitten, but, he loves this food. No matter what kind of mood he is in, he ALWAYS eats all his Mideast Feast food. He loves Tilapia. Every once in a while he's ok eating chicken, or other fish types, sometimes gets a bit picky, but he is never picky with this food. Knowing what I know about Weruva foods, & seen how my cat looks, his silky chinchilla soft fur, extremely high energy levels, alertness, all around very healthy, & sleek, I would not hesitate for one second to recommend this to anyone, even for finicky cats. Fantastic food. He gets this flavor every couple days (I rotate flavors so he doesn't get sick of eating fish, though he refuses to eat lamb or duck), as well as having free access to his Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountain Feline formula dry food, & as an owner, I couldn't be happier. He's a very healthy, energetic cat.

I've been feeding my 2 year old cat Weruva since he was a kitten and had no issues with it the whole time. My cat loved it and so did I. However my last 3 cases of Mideast Feast have all been full of fat and look disgusting (I'm used to cat food not looking "nice", but this is just nasty). They smell fine and my cat still eats it with no issues, but I can't feel good recommending this flavor anymore with the way this food has changed. Paw Lickin' Chicken is still great with no issues, but I'll be buying a different brand from now on because of this experience. I only give it 3 stars because my cat still enjoys it and doesn't get sick from it.

My mum gave me this tuh-lap-ee-uh and she sez I'm gonna get a shynee coat. I is a princiss. And I like my coat to shine and mummy knows dis. But I do not like all spensive foods. Just dis kind. One time I got a piece of a fish head and I got very happee cuz I likes a good fishy here-an-there. You should bye this for your kids too like my Mum gits for me cause the oils make my skin just boo-fit-al and my fur shines like a diamond Mum says. It isn't hard for me to chew either and even tho Mummy hates that I still eat my hard food pellets, I need it for my happeeness. Weruva has bones tho in some foods like the pink label, but not this one so Mum says I am safe. I am gonna put a pickture of my cousin Snickers in the middle of when she was lickin where the sun don't shine.

Our three kitties, age 3, 6, and 10, have been on grain free kibble all their lives. When our youngest, Orion, was ill and feeling anorexic last summer, we started feeding him small amounts of Weruva Mideast Feast and Pawlickin Chicken to nurse him back to health. There was no keeping the other two away from it, so now that everyone is back in the pink, they each get a can to share as a special afternoon treat to supplement their kibble. My Maine coon Lorenzo is the one who comes over to my desk and asks for it, doesn't leave me in peace until I get up and open the can for them all. Here they are all loving it. Highly recommended.

I have a himalayan and a silver persian (both not extreme faces) and they both LOVE this weruva flavor. I usually mix the big can of Middle east flavor with the small can of Paw licking chicken and divide the mixture into 2 servings, one for each cat. This works great because they absolutely go crazy for the middle east flavor and do not like to eat any other food! By mixing another flavor or other ingredients into it, I make sure they get all the nutrients of other meats, not just fish. Overall, both of my cats go crazy for this flavor!

Shrink-flation

I wish I took a photo of the contents of my previous batches because they've changed the way they make this item. Every can USED to have a big chunk of fish skin

I wish I took a photo of the contents of my previous batches because they've changed the way they make this item. Every can USED to have a big chunk of fish skin at the top of each can. Now that entire peice is missing and there seems to be less food in the can. I used to feed my cats 1/4 a can per day (with dry food throughout the day) but now theres so little food in each can I have to suppliment the wet food even more to make sure the cats are getting a full meal. There's just not as much in the can as their used to be. I'm not sure why they decided to remove that big cut of fish but its very much a noticible loss. The cats still eat and enjoy the food but theres just not enough of it and for the price I feel like I am getting pretty ripped off.

We love this product. It looks good, smells good and my cats and kittens really love it. I use one can and put about a tablespoon in 8 bowls with a couple tablespoons of water, add several drops of Nutravet Salmon Probiotics, mash it a little and they go wild. Some kitties only like the juice so at the end I add a little more water, mash up the left over bits and they clean the bowl.

I can't say this enough, but this brand is probably one of the best ones I've fed my three kitties. My finicky boy will always pick this food out of the rest. The fish is real fish in this flavor, and you can actually see the scales. I tried this as a random purchase, since my boys loved the Paw-Lickin line. It doesn't disappoint. 3 sets of paws up for this flavor, will be purchasing a case soon.

Weruva for the win!

So I have 5 cats, 1 year to 14 years, and all of them are picky eaters besides one. I’ve fed them Fancy Feast and Purina Friskies Pate in rotation their whole lives, until recently they stopped eating both. I’ve been searching high and low for a food, any food they will be content with. I’ve ordered just about every wet food on the market, with no success. I placed an order the day before yesterday, for this Weruva grilled Tilapia and 4 other different brands; praying they at least like one of them. My Chewy package just came and I about broke my neck opening the box so they could try them out. I opened every brand/flavor, set them out, and let my babies decide for themselves. All 5 went for the Weruva!! I cannot believe it. I proceeded to open more so they could all have their own plate; they all licked their plates clean! I pray Weruva never changes their formula like some other brands often do, so my kitties can be happy and healthy for the rest of their lives. Thank you Weruva, and thank you Chewy for a 10 star experience. 10 paws from my kitties as well, literally.

I have never been impressed with a cat food before this one. When I open the can, I literally have to chop up the chunks of meat that are within. I’m impressed. This looks like something that would land on our dinner plate not the cats feeding bowls. This is by far the best cat food I have ever found, and I would highly recommend it even though it is so expensive.
