Answer here...If the canned food is well covered or sealed from the surrounding environment, the food should last up to 3-4 days. It is advised to consume before this time. The storage conditions and general hygiene of the refrigerator, as well as how long the food has sit out exposed will have determining effects on the safe storage of the canned diets.

When there was that incident of Melamine tainted canned foods I was very careful to research the companies manufacturing my cats' food. I felt comfortable with how the representatives from Wellness answered my questions and talked openly about their canning process and quality controls. Ever since then I have been feeding my cats Wellness canned foods. Last summer, I took in an elderly foster cat who had a bad upper respiratory infection and was emaciated. He had a large bone structure and weighed 5.5 pounds. I fed him homemade chicken soup and tried a lot of different extra smelly/tasty foods, including post-surgical prescription food. Once he ate a bite of Wellness Turkey he would eat nothing else! (not even my home made soup!) As his sinus infection cleared he ate can after can of Wellness Turkey along with some Wellness dry food and he is now at a healthy weight. Oh and he is no longer a foster; I could not give him up! All eight of my cats get about 1/4 cup of wellness turkey each night along with their various medications and supplements. I do not have to pill anybody because they love this food so much they just gobble it up, pills and all.

When our cat developed ongoing vomiting issues, we were desperate for answers. We spent hundreds at the vet...only to be told he had IBD and needed ongoing steroids. Research, led us to try grain-free cat food...which didn't solve the problem. Further research led us to try grain-free, WET cat food...which fixed things almost overnight. Of all the brands we tried (and, trust me, we've tried most of them), Wellness Turkey Formula in the large can is the most economical and cat-approved of the bunch.

My cats love this product and it is healthy for them.

My cats are 16 years old and indoor animals. They were a little overweight and it was important that they lose some weight for their health and for their joints

My cats are 16 years old and indoor animals. They were a little overweight and it was important that they lose some weight for their health and for their joints. My vet recommended an all wet food diet and recommended Wellness brand cat food especially the grain free varieties. Cats primarily need protein in their diets and less carbs. Dry food primarily contains carbohydrates and tends to cause cats to gain weight. I switched to an all wet food diet with Wellness brand and both cats lost a few pounds. My male cat also had started having some renal insufficiency and that also improved with the new diet and food. My cats like all the different flavors Wellness offers and I love it because it improved their health and I hope it extends their life even further!

Energy loves the flavor

My car is 10 and she just is not that active so since I started buying this cat food things have changed! When she was younger we would play a game I would go hide and I would tell out come find me! She would be looking around and I would jump out and scare her so then she would go hide and it's funny because she always his behind the door! I would pretend to not see her and say Esther were are you once my back was turned she would jump at me. I just love me cat!

Our vet recommended improving the quality of food for my 3 senior cats & one "teenage" cat. They love the Wellness Turkey flavor food! At first I was worried that they weren't eating enough but after several weeks of observing them I weighed them & they hadn't lost an ounce. I came to the conclusion that they had been eating more of the low priced food because their instincts told them they needed more food to get what their bodies need. I think cats are smarter than humans in this respect!

This is my cat Jenny's favorite flavor of her favorite food! She is 20 and blind, but gets so excited for this food, which I give her several small meals of throughout the day. (I also switch it up with the seafood pate pack from Wellness.) The cans I receive from Chewy are always well packaged and free of dents. I'm impressed with the Wellness food's smell; not overwhelming enough to make me gag, but smelly enough to cats that she can find her bowl all on her own despite being completely blind. I will continue to buy her this brand of food for the rest of her life

amazing product

I did a huge amount of research to find the right canned food for my Persian cat (12 yrs old). He ate the tainted cat food, which killed one of my other Persians,

I did a huge amount of research to find the right canned food for my Persian cat (12 yrs old). He ate the tainted cat food, which killed one of my other Persians, and I knew he ate it as well, but because he was young the kidney disease didn't show up yet. Sure enough, a few years later we found his kidneys were compromised and switched to KD. A year and a half ago, we found that he started having pancreatitis, from more internet research, I believe long term KD diet can cause that. So I found Wellness Turkey or Chicken canned food has the suggested nutrition for a cat with kidney damage. We've been checking his blood often to make sure his kidneys don't get worse, and in a year and a half there has been NO further deterioration!!! By whole brood (5 cats) love this food, even a new addition(from a friend who passed away) who was super picky and only ate one food. Now even she begs for her breakfast of Wellness :)

As with all brands that suddenly have a new label design, this means the formula has also changed and never for the better. I have 10 cats who used to love this

As with all brands that suddenly have a new label design, this means the formula has also changed and never for the better. I have 10 cats who used to love this food, now not one of them will touch it. This new version slides right out of the can and is surrounded by quite a bit of some type of brown gel substance. The same review goes for the new CHICKEN formula. Getting harder and harder to find a large size canned food that the crew will eat.
