Wellness Beef Stew Dog Food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for growth & maintenance except for growth of large size dogs (70 lb. or more as an adult).

Once the can is opened, how many days is the food good for?

If the canned food is well covered or sealed from the surrounding environment, the food should last up to 3-4 days. It is advised to consume before this time. The storage conditions and general hygiene of the refrigerator, as well as how long the food has sit out exposed will have determining effects on the safe storage of the canned diets.

Great Topper For Picky Eater

We switched our Rough Collie to Wellness CORE adult dry food (from Wellness CORE puppy dry food) last month after her first birthday, but she did not tolerate the adult formula very well. We transitioned her to Acana Heritage Meats dry food, which she tolerates, but does not seem to love. I ordered this Wellness Beef Stew to mix in with the kibble, hoping it would make her want to eat at mealtimes, rather than grazing on one serving throughout the day. It works! We add about 1/4 of the can of wet food to each meal (with two meals a day, one can lasts two days), and now she scarfs up both breakfast and dinner. Wellness is a great brand, and this canned food is no exception to their high standards. It really does look like a stew, not a can-shaped blob of paste, and it smells really good, lol - like people food. The only negative I can think of is that plastic snap-on lids do not fit these cans, so we have to seal the whole open can in a freezer storage baggie to keep the food fresh in the fridge.

She now flourishes in our household with the other two dogs and enjoys the best food ever "Wellness Beef Stew"....and boy has it made a difference in her coat and overall health. So, the 1 star is due to the company skimping out on the amount they are now putting into the containers. I've been buying this for years now and the food is always filled to the lip of the container, now they are missing between 1/4-1/2 inch in each one. Yes, there's a supply chain issue, but don't jack up the price and give us less. As you can see in the picture how much is missing. This is the amount in each one I have opened from my last purchase.

We have two massive breeds. I use this as a topper, to add interest to their normal wellness dry food. As an aside, we buy frozen mixed vegetables and mix it with the dry food. They love the combination. To keep them from getting bored with the food, we change the topper every day (Wellness offers several different "stews"). FYI: for 2 large breeds, one can lasts them one day over three meals.

The food is just like the picture on the can, chunks of dog food with carrot chunks and thick gravy. It also has less sodium than many other canned foods which is important for our other dog with congestive heart failure. Honestly, It really makes their meals look yummy! Two dogs give it 8 paws up! Pretty impressive!

Wonderful food .

My 13 year old doxie has had a cough and lots of mucus. The vet had her on several antibiotics which did nothing. I tried this food and she has stopped coughing
