Best bedding for bunny litterboxes

I have had house rabbits for years and have tried many different kinds of litter. This one is the best - I think it used to be called "Sunseed Fresh World" but

I have had house rabbits for years and have tried many different kinds of litter. This one is the best - I think it used to be called "Sunseed Fresh World" but it was rebranded as Vitacraft. Same product. I put a cut paper bag under this litter in a box used by two bunnies and each day scoop a little extra on top, then I change the box twice a week and I have not had issues with odor and cleanup is a breeze (dump into the trash bag, spray some cleaner in the litter pan, wipe out with a paper towel, and set it up again). I think it's unreasonable to think you could go a full 14 days for any pet without changing the litterbox, so I'm not annoyed that I start to get whiffs of rabbit pee after 4 days. If you're looking for a solid bedding to make your litterbox cleaning easier and control odor between litterbox changes, this is the one! *Also - to control rabbit urine odor make sure your bunny is spayed or neutered, that helps a ton and also makes their litterbox habits much better!

As a crazy ferret lady, you can bet that I have tried all kinds of bedding and litter/bedding combos for my four little fuzzies who love to make messes. All the big name brands and off-name brands-- yup, tried 'em. Some lasted longer than others...some, eh, not so much. Once I opened up my latest Chewy.com box, I gave it a try immediately. First off, this stuff smells awesome (a super important quality for musky little ferrets since they have quite the sensitive noses). Secondly, as I was padding it into place, I noticed how surprisingly comfortable it felt-- not as harsh as you would think by looking at it. Thirdly, my ferrets love it (I mean, they really don't have a say in the matter, but the little guys seem happy when they're sleeping 20 hours a day). So, heck yeah, I recommend this bedding! If you have other small pets besides ferrets-- or if you have ferrets yourself-- and you're looking for comfy bedding, give this one a try! Hope you love it as much as I do.

I am actually really impressed with this bedding. I just adopted two guinea pigs and I have been trying to figure out if I was going to use paper bedding or fleece. I first used the Vitakraft and Carefresh mixed together and thought it did a good job of masking any odor and it was very absorbent. I tried fleece liner for a couple of days (thought it would save money) and the fleece just smelled bad and it was too much work having to clean their cage as often as I was. I went back to using Vitakraft with a mix of Carefresh bedding. I have a Living World Deluxe XL cage and I think I am going to be able to get a bit over a months worth with each Vitakraft bag, just because my cage is so large. It's worth paying the price because I would rather my piggies have a clean cage and live comfortably!

The picture makes it look a lot more like pellets than in real life. I have been using paper bedding for a long time now and noticed my bunny was kicking out the bedding lately so I decided to try something new. I wanted a pellet kind of litter because it would be easier to pick up and maybe since it is heavier oshe wouldn't kick it out. But this litter is just as bad! It's is even tinier peices of paper. When I opened the bag a cloud of dust came out, and when I put the bedding in to rickies litter box she immediately started eating it. Thankfully she stopped when I put her hay box in which was a relief. It does smell fresh and clean though and is absorbent which is good. I wish it was as shown on the website and wasn't as dusty. If you are looking for a pellet kind of litter this isn't the litter for you!

This bedding is amazing at keeping odor down. I have a hedgehog, and those who own hedgies know that they never stop pooping. Literally never. This bedding keeps the smell down a lot which is amazing. The only reason I gave the product 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the dust. It’s got a lot more dust that I thought. This is fine for less sensitive animals, but if buying this for a more sensitive animal that is more susceptible to respiratory infections, I would be careful. I like that the bedding is paper too. More eco friendly and you can compost!

I bought this to try and I must say I usually change her bed every 2-3 days because of smell and this one HARDLY any smell but since it is smaller it sticks to her fur. So, I have it all over my house, not a fan of that. If you don't have a small animal who is fluffy then GO FOR IT!

Do not buy!! Foil and plastic in bedding!

I have bought this product before and use it to line under the hay bale my guinea pigs eat from as it does a decent job of absorbing urine. HOWEVER, I just bought a new bag and found multiple pieces of aluminum foil, plastic, and what looked like waxed wire used to tie produce. I've included a picture of some of the stuff I found. This was in ONE scoop, I'm afraid to look through the whole bag. I'm very upset considering guinea pigs typically eat some of the liner under hay because they like to eat everything. I'm glad I saw this before putting it in their cage. Considering the price of this product I would expect a much higher quality. They need to remove the only paper products description of the materials because that is absolutely not the case! Don't buy! On a side note this does not last 14 days of freshness, I'd give it 6 max before it starts to really smell.
