None of these colors or ropes look safe for any animal, let alone a rat. Fibrous ropes can cause choking and damage intestines if ingested, and I've seen *highlighter marker* colors look more "natural" than this.

I know that this is not a safe toy for Chinchillas. I did not look carefully at what I was purchasing before buying. As soon as it arrived I immediately realized it was NOT something that I could safely allow my Chinchillas or, Guinea Pigs to play with.

My rats have a ton of toys, but they ignore them for the most part. They usually just sit on their hammock and sleep. It felt like they needed something extra to get moving, so I picked up this colored blocks hanging. Wow, they went nuts! They're like climbing all over it. It's the only thing they'll chew on right now. The whole cage feels way more fun for them! Happy I got it. It really keeps them busy for hours, which is great because they used to just chew on the cage bars when they got bored. Now they are completely distracted by all the bright wood pieces. It’s seriously the best purchase I have made for them in a long time, totally worth it!

I stumbled onto this solution quite by accident. I had these worn-out parrot toy blocks lying around and didn't know what to do with them. Then, one day while I was cleaning my guinea pig's area, I placed a couple of these blocks nearby, just to see what would happen. To my surprise, my guinea pig took to them right away, gnawing and playing with them. It was a completely unexpected but practical discovery. Used to worry that my rats weren’t getting enough stimulation and that their teeth would overgrow. Ever since I introduced these color chew blocks, that’s changed. My boys went straight for them.
