Does this food have peas?

What is the chicken meal compromised of that is the first ingredient listed? Other brands list the chicken meal is from whole chicken not skin, bone, and other materials but I don't see that listed anywhere. Thanks.

Chicken meal is made up of chicken that has been ground and cooked, reducing the fat content to create a protein-rich ingredient. It’s high in protein and amino acids to help strengthen and maintain your pet’s muscles. It’s also a high-quality source of glucosamine for joint health. Chicken meal does not include feathers, heads, feet or entrails.

I've searched high and low for dog food that agreed with my golden's sensitive stomach. He had been on Purina EN vet food for almost a year and I needed to find something that had ingredients that were not all fillers with corn wheat and soy and at a good price point. He also can't do food with a high fat content. After trying many brands including Pro plan, Nourish, and Farmina (which is really great dog food but doesn't work for my guy) I found Victor. Just as I did it got recalled. I understand people are upset that it this happened.Recalls happen and for a brand to pull ALL their food just in case says a lot about the company. Purina and Science Diet the big names out there have had many recalls and people still buy it and swear by it. I had subbed Victor with Diamond Naturals (on Chewy's recommendation) while trying to find a food and I have to say it's trash. Glad that Victor is back in stock.

I have two Great Dane's and one has a VERY sensitive stomach. Victor, in general, has been great for both of them and does not cause upset bellies, however, my Danes quickly grow tired of the flavors and will go all day without eating. Chewy has been absolutely phenomenal with assisting me with my many phone calls and emails regarding this. The customer service has been beyond anything I could have ever expected. Feeding and caring for two (not so) gentle giants can be quite costly so when I've had new food delivered and the dogs decide they aren't going to eat it anymore Chewy has always been more than happy to assist. I can't thank you enough for such exceptional customer service. With all that this company has helped me and my pups with I figured the least I could do is leave a review. No more diarrhea or hair loss - reasonably priced

My rescue dog had constant stomach and hair loss issues for the first five months I had him, no matter what I fed him. His fur was dropping out in his armpits

My rescue dog had constant stomach and hair loss issues for the first five months I had him, no matter what I fed him. His fur was dropping out in his armpits. I knew there was an allergy problem but couldn't identify what it was. His stomach settled within 3 days on the Victor's Chicken Meal & Brown Rice with Lamb Meal formula. After about 6 weeks his fur has filled back in and is super shiny. Pup has gained 15 pounds and is looking good. Very happy indeed.

Happy with Victor

I have 2 Great Danes that have 2 completely different issues with food. One tends to gobble and gain weight with loose stools while the other has skin sensitivity

I have 2 Great Danes that have 2 completely different issues with food. One tends to gobble and gain weight with loose stools while the other has skin sensitivity. This food is meeting our needs wonderfully. They both love the taste and waste has been easy to clean up. I also love the 40 lb bags!

New brand, new protein sources

Due to the recent research being released re: taurine and pea protein, I had to hunt for a new kibble. After careful consideration, I decided to give this a shot

Due to the recent research being released re: taurine and pea protein, I had to hunt for a new kibble. After careful consideration, I decided to give this a shot and my dogs love it. Switching over to this food was easy and even though we did it pretty quickly, our dogs had no GI upset at all. This kibble has all the taurine one could want, NO PEA PROTEIN, and great calcium and phosphorus for growing dogs,. I wish it had a bit more fat to help maintain skin and coat, but I added a tsp of coconut oil at each feeding to compensate, and that works fine. I highly recommend this brand and this kibble in particular.

Great results with this food!

I have an almost 14 yr old Terrier mix and a 6 mos old Bassett mix. Both rescues, both with intestinal issues. The baby had been on a very expensive prescription

I have an almost 14 yr old Terrier mix and a 6 mos old Bassett mix. Both rescues, both with intestinal issues. The baby had been on a very expensive prescription diet and I was hoping to be successful in weaning him off of it. Wanted a food that would be good for both dogs. Transition went very smoothly and the vet was very pleased with baby's weight, coat and muscle development! Said he was in excellent condition! I am so happy to have found an affordable, premium food that both my dogs love!

Our Great Danes love this flavor Victor dog food & it contains high quality ingredients so we feel good about feeding it to them. They get so excited at feeding

Our Great Danes love this flavor Victor dog food & it contains high quality ingredients so we feel good about feeding it to them. They get so excited at feeding time, prancing around, impatiently waiting for their food. Chewy is $5 higher per bag than our local feed store but the convenience of having it delivered is worth the extra expense to us. Would like to see the price dropped a few bucks per bag. Otherwise, highly recommend!
