What kind of vegetables are used for the oil in Victor dog food?

I am looking into switching my dogs to Victor Ultra Pro. One of them is a 5yr lab who is docile, we do walk everyday/swims in summer. Also have 13 yr old terrier Who is the same. For the most part they are not high energy but playful and walk everyday. I don’t want to switch if not active enough.

The protein levels in the food are very high, we wouldn't recommend the Ultra Pro for your older dog since it is better for older dogs to have lower protein levels.

Let's be honest; how many times per year should one see Orijen's prices increase while at the same time suffer from Orijen purposefully limiting the online availability

Let's be honest; how many times per year should one see Orijen's prices increase while at the same time suffer from Orijen purposefully limiting the online availability of its products? Seriously, Champion Pet Foods (Orijen/Acana) is a Canadian company who built new manufacturing plants in Kentucky, which should have reduced the cost for local stores in the US to purchase domestically instead of import. Instead, the cost to consumer in the last ten years increased by almost 20%. It's a great thing, then, that it doesn't matter because now you can get a dog food as good as if not better than Orijen for a fair cost with Victor Ultra Pro! Seriously-good food that is worthy of your dog. How many pet foods out there let you know the percentage of actual meat and protein content from animal ingredients, as well as its carbohydrate content? Not many, and you can probably guess why most foods don't. Because most foods don't have 18% carbohydrates. My 5 large dogs have loved Victor Ultra Pro for the last year, and I highly recommend it for those fed up with Orijen/Acana's price-gouging or who want to switch to a premium dog food with high-meat content aimed at ensuring optimal health and longevity for their kiddos :)

We have been using Blue buffalo with duck for some time now, but we ran out and couldn't wait for the order to come in.so we purchased a bag of this ultra pro by Victor at the feed store, our American pit bull/American staff mix loves this food.The ingredients are comparable to high quality dog foods like blue buffalo, but Victor comes in a slightly larger bag for a little less $$$. the kibble is very small and ive read some complaints but I have to say, I think this is a good thing, most dogs don't really chew their food much before swallowing it down, and I think the smaller kibble would be better for them to digest.the kibble is about the size of a pea so I would think it would be easier on the stomach, that's just my thinking. We will be ordering this from chewy next time. also recommend the big bag of buffalo lung dog treats from chewy< 100% protein, dry treat.a bag of this dog food and a bag of these treats puts you at 50$ for free shipping, and dogs love it!!!

My name Doberman is 3 years old and we have gone through brand after brand of foods and nothing has worked. We tried all the high end foods, Acana, Wellness core, Natures variety instinct, blue wilderness, merrick back country, and so on. With every food, he either had dry flakey skin, horrible gas, and especially bad stools. He also would lose weight if not eating 8 cups a day! The poor guy, he's so active he was either looking so skinny (and I like lea. Dogs but I'm talking hip bones protruding) or he has bad diarrhea. It was exhausting. I started researching victor and decided to bite the bullet and true yet another brand. We are almost 2 weeks in, I was mixing it with the end of his nature's variety instinct for the first week, he loved it right away, and no bad stools! This is amazing! I'm so happy, I'm planning to order a bag of the Yukon river for my other dog that has a chicken and grain allergy. Yay for victor! My boy's coat is already looking better and he's on 6 cups as of right now, which is way better than 8. I hope this keeps working for him. I usually give it a bag or 2 to really decide but I will say, I am instantly seeing improvement with this food.

I've done a lot of research on dog food and this is my kibble of choice for several reasons. It has one of the lowest carbohydrate contents of any kibble. Dogs have no nutritional requirement for carbs. 81% of the protein is from animal sources; animal protein is much more digestible than plant based protein. Victor locally sources most of the ingredients instead of buying commodity ingredients from untraceable sources. My 4 year old German Shepherd dog is titled in Schutzhund (IPO), Agility, and Dock Diving. He is currently in training as a Search and Rescue dog. He is also my hiking partner and runs with me while I mountain bike. He deserves premium nutrition.

I have had an ENORMOUS amount of trouble with my two Malinois - the first is very picky and leaves most dry foods untouched, while the other has a very sensitive digestive system. Both of them have also had chronic loose stool. When I opened the bag, BOTH dogs clearly loved it! They gobble it up, and because it’s high protein/high calorie, I can feed them slightly less which is great for their lifestyle. TOTALLY solid poos, no more gas, nothing but smiles and thumbs up over here!

BEST VALUE LOW CARBOHYDRATE FOOD ON THE MARKET

And now this wonderful food, made in Texas, is being stocked by Chewy. This is great news for anyone with a dog! The kibble is pretty small and it suits all ages and breeds. The important thing is that dogs need protein and this food delivers, at 42% Protein 42.0 % Fat 22.0% Fiber 2.7% Moisture 9.0 I calculate the CARBOHYDRATE content - a carbohydrate is a cheap filler that dogs don't actually need - at a VERY low 16.3%. Compare to other foods in that range which tend to deliver HALF that protein and two to three times the carbohydrates, this is fantastic value! You will FEED feed a little over HALF the weight of Victor compared to a typical low protein food. It is also grain free. The carbohydrate content comes mainly from Peas and Sweet Potato with a bunch of dried vegetable pomaces, which provide many beneficial antioxidants, and are also a good fibre source, including Dried Celery Pomace, Dried Beet Pomace, Dried Parsley Pomace, Dried Lettuce Pomace, Dried Watercress Pomace and Dried Spinach Pomace. Minerals are provided as easily absorbed and metabolized Amino Acid Complexes rather than poorly absorbed and metabolized Sulfates and Oxides. There are a whole bunch of probiotics. Low temperature application means that their benefits are not destroyed by heat. They will help your dog maintain the correct balance of intestinal flora and will optimize the condition of the intestinal tract. Overall, this is a 5 star product at a 3 star price, and it really is amazing value for money.

Our previous food was discontinued and I has trouble finding a comparable high protein food. Finally found Victor Ultra Pro 42 which its all of our needs. High protein, low carb and high quality ingredients. Perfect for my high energy girl. Best of all, Poppy Loves it ! With Chewy's free 2 day delivery and auto ship program I won't have to wrestle bags of food out of my car and into the house and I never need to worry about running out of food. Poppy eagerly "helps" me unbox her package too! I will have to be careful though.....I caught her trying to use my ipad and am afraid she might do "add ons" to our next Chewy order. I have working Australian Shepherds, who also are my competition teammates in Obedience, Rally, stock trials, conformation, and agility. Several years ago when an Evo recall put both dogs into the vet clinic, I began searching for a different high protein, high fat, grain free, and very concentrated kibble. A friend recommended Victor; we started with Yukon River (fish based) to see if they liked the size and texture of the kibble, and then changed over to Ultra Pro 42 (which now features working sled dogs on the bag -perfect!). Wow! For 5 years, this has been the food I feed to my dogs over the summertime, when they are working the hardest; nothing else I tried, was able to maintain show quality coats, rock hard muscles, phenomenal teeth, and explosive energy - while also maintaining their correct weights! This stuff truly is rocket fuel, for very active working dogs (not quiet, lazy couch potatoes that get only 15 minutes of exercise daily). As a very calorie-dense food, you will be feeding much smaller amounts in the bowl than with lower calorie kibble - which means each bag lasts a lot longer than comparable sized bags, and also means smaller poops to clean up. Highly recommended for super high energy, hard working or hard competing dogs.

GREAT Quality Product!!

3 years ago, we rescued our second angel, a white pitbull named Ella. She came to us with dried out, cracked feet, poor coat and looking pitiful. I dug into research and found that most white pits have gluten allergies, so we decided to put her on Victor's HERO, grain free, dry food. She showed immediate improvement within a week! A month later, her feet pads were as soft as a babies butt lol. Money got a little tight for a while, so we switched to a lower cost gluten/grain free food. She did okay, but her coat wasn't quite as healthy, and she slowly gained weight over the next 2 years. FFWD to December 2019 - I couldn't take it any more! I Started looking on Chewy.com to find a low-carb alternative grain-free/gluten-free food. My search brought me back to Victor, and this amazing Ultra Pro grain free food - WOW. I regret leaving Victor products. Less than 3 weeks in - Ella's coat is SHINING! Her energy level is through the roof, her nails are clearing up (They were slightly browned instead of white/clear) and she is already trimming down! I'm SO thankful I found this food! She always ate the "Hero" from Victor before, but she likes this more! This is top-shelf stuff! lesson learned: NOT ALL GRAIN FREE FOODS ARE CREATED EQUAL. Research the food you are considering, carefully read ingredients, consider your pet's needs/condition, and spend the money for quality food! I learned the hard way.
