Our 14 year old mostly pit lab mix has severe arthritis in hips and all 4 legs. A year and half ago she ran like a champion. Over the last 6 months we've had her on 2 pain pills because she rarely gets of bed. I have been carrying her up/down steps and outside to go to restroom (75 lbs). We have been giving her glucosamine & chondroitin in chew tablets for quite some time. Recently she began doing banana splits on smooth flooring and I would have to stand her up. When she walks she pants heavily ...a sign of pain/anxiety. We thought it was time to put her down and discussed how we would handle her departure with our other 2 dogs. I then switched to Victor Performance and 3 days later she started getting out of bed following us around the house a couple times a day. Now it's been 3 weeks and she is using stairs again and today got excited and ran down them and halfway across our yard. She bugs us to play with her again and she stands for long periods of time. In the last 2 days she ran a little over 100 feet 4 times we know of. My wife & I are amazed and most grateful. Another advantage of Victor is it has probiotics. This is a necessity for muscle dogs according to our vet. For 11 years we put up with almost daily horrific gas odor from our pit bully. Once it was 14 degrees and we had the windows open & the attic fan running while were were bundled up in sleeping bags watching TV. We had tried several dog foods and the last one we used was IAMs. We switched to Victor Pro a few years ago before we switched to Performance. Since changing to Victor, our pit bully has had minor gas maybe twice! I scoop their poop and the consistency changed from totally disgusting to semi-firm solid. It's so much easier to scoop.

My 2 year old pit mix suddenly got an autoimmune disease and almost died. He lost 15 pounds in 2 months. When he finally started eating again I put him on a different 30/20 food to help him bulk up. He gained weight incredibly fast but was becoming overweight. So I switched him to this dog food bc it was less calories, protein and fat. But still higher than most basic dog foods. Since switching his poop has become much more firm, his coat is soooo soft and shiny, hair that had begun to fall out from malnutrition is coming back, He has stayed at a healthy weight, and continues to recover all the muscle he has lost. I like the fact that it has large pellets and that it comes in a 40 pound bag. The first time I ordered this I sent it to the wrong Adress and chewy sent me a replacement free of charge. I really like this dog food and will continue on it. Chewy is literally the best I’ve gotten refunds for things I gave a negative review on without even asking for the refund! That’s customer service. I put a before and after to show how his weight and muscle has increased all over his body even in his head.

Allergy Savior

I have been using this food for 3 months with all 3 of my dogs. Ezekiel is a 4 y/o black lab with severe environmental allergies (ants, trees, grass, mold, life itself) and has been on a once a week cocktail shot of all the things he is allergic to to hopefully lower his reaction. He had been chewing his paw pads off and cutting himself open. He did get a bit better, but still had balding around his eye, stomach, legs, and his butt. He also wouldn't wear shoes (we live in AZ, he needs shoes!) because the skin was too raw. This was the case for a year so I know this food is what stopped it as it was the only new item introduced. He is doing amazing now with minimal itching. He isn't a grumpy man anymore and has a lot more spunk in him. His poops aren't as runny as they were on his previous food, and he isn't pooping 4 times a day anymore. Overall he looks so much healthier. The vet was impressed as well. His black coat is now shiny and sleek instead of brittle and dull. Ava is a 4.5 y/o Dutch shepherd/Australian shepherd mix that likes to self diet. On her prior food she would go days without eating randomly just from lack of interest. When she did eat, she didn't particularly look like she enjoyed it. On this food, she eats all of it every time and it isn't upsetting her food sensitivities. Her coat is also a lot softer and not matting as much. Casanova is a happy go lucky 1.5 y/o Chow Chow that is part pig. While he has always been good about eating, he will work for this food. Training him to sit and wait until he is told he can eat is something he kinda sorta did before, but he really wants this now. He has a lot more energy with this food compared to the prior, and his poops are a lot better. He is actually the reason I started looking for new food as he had started getting sick and didn't want the prior food. All three of them get needy around feeding time and go straight to their bowls and sit if I ask if they are hungry. Its a hit for the babies which makes mom very happy. Its also extremely cost friendly for the quality of food.

My 58 lb Golden Retriever, who is about a year and 5 months old, was previously on Purina One Smart Blend Lamb and Rice. It was cheaper for me to put her on this because of financial reasons (College). Before the choice to switch to Purina, I had her on Science Diet and it was too expensive but a great food. I recently was able to spend slightly more on her food so I looked at my options. I wanted a food that was high in Glucosamine because she is pretty active and puts a good amount of strain on her hips going running with me every morning. I also wanted food that didn't have all of those by-products in the ingredients list. She was also having some allergies from the Purina food which concerned me. Her poos were not the best and she did a lot of them. With Victor's performance dog food, all of these issues have been resolved! I'm glad i made the switch to Victor. The little bit of extra cost every month is definitely worth it!

Finally found a great kibble option

I have a 2 year old German Shepherd, he is a fantastic dog. Besides the fact that he is the PICKIEST eater, every dog food I have gotten i feel like I have to force him to eat it. Or I will get a dog food that he will like for 3 weeks then will stop eating. I have always had to dress the food up a bit, so he would eat it. Vets always complained that he wasn’t at an ideal weight for his age. He always had lose stool, so pretty much I just thought that I was a terrible owner. Felt like I couldn’t meet my dogs necessary Needs. Until I found this dog food, I’m excited to say that Forrest absolutely loves it! Took care of the lose stool, and he actually now looks forward to eating. Overall he is a much happier dog, his coat looks great and his hips and joints are happy. So if you have a similar problem, I highly recommend!!

This product is great for my year old GSD 105 lb dog. I had him on diamond naturals and wanted something a little higher quality. It is fascinating that it reduced the size of his poop by a good 50%. I mix/rotate about a quarter cup other types of high quality dog food in to give him a variety as he does tend to get bored with the taste of his food. Another unexpected side effect is that I moved my 9 year old Pug onto the food as well so I could feed them the same food. She has been slowing down the last couple of years and getting a bit gimpy and sleeps a lot. To my surprise, after about a month she turned into a new dog. She is frisky, playing with her GSD brother like she is a puppy again. Her attitude changed as well. She is no longer grumpy with him when he wants to play. Wow!

Newfi/Boxer Mom

I have a 3 1/2yr old Newfoundland (150lbs) and a 4mth old Boxer but have been a Boxer Mom since 2004. After having 3 out of 3 of my precious Boxers have one form

I have a 3 1/2yr old Newfoundland (150lbs) and a 4mth old Boxer but have been a Boxer Mom since 2004. After having 3 out of 3 of my precious Boxers have one form or another of Cancer (only 1 survived the cancer) I was devastated, and decided to really research the dog food and do my best to feed the very best food that I could afford. We are on a very limited budget as both my husband and I are disabled. Previously I fed Rachel Ray Beef and Brown Rice kibble along with Pro Plan Chicken/Beef & Rice wet. After losing my last Boxer to cancer, as I thought back on it, I became suspicious of the Rachel Ray due to my dogs suddenly snubbing the food just before my Boxer Jak had began to show symptoms of being ill. It was quite the process going through articles, ingredient lists, reviews and comparisons. After evaluating all of the information, I wanted a food that #1 was made in the United States that did not outsource any ingredients #2 Pea and legume free #3 had healthy grains and no fillers. I looked at Diamond and actually tried a bag of the Lamb and Rice and it made my poor Newfi itch so much that he was miserable. After reading such good things about Victor, and finding out that my breeder (European Boxers) fed Victor, I researched it and realized that Victor met the everything on my list. First I tried Victor Professional (purple bag) and my Newfi snubbed it along with the next Victor Hi Pro (green bag). Then I came across this one which also has glucosamine and chondroitin for joint support, and taurine for the heart. Two of the most important concerns for Boxer and Newfi's are their hearts (it's why I would never feed grain free) and their joints, especially the European Boxers as they have problems with hip dysplasia. To top it off Victor adds ingredients for Immune support, digestive health, and skin health. I combine this kibble with the Pro Plan Beef and Rice wet food 2x's a day and also free feed the kibble. Both of my boys are somewhat picky so they don't do a happy dance every meal but they do eat it and I know that I am feeding them a safe healthy diet. And this is literally only $10 more a bag. And because of the added glucosamine and chondroitin I no longer need to buy a hip and joint supplement. I also switched to giving them only filtered water instead of tap water. I hope that the changes will help my sweet babies stay healthy and well far into their golden years instead of losing them at such early ages as I lost my previous 2 boys Murphy at 5 1/2 and Jak at 9yrs.

The search for good affordable dog food is over

My dog (English golden, 85lb, 1.5 yr) is SO picky. I blame it on my mom feeding him a freshly cooked meal a few times when we left him with her. It's been impossible

My dog (English golden, 85lb, 1.5 yr) is SO picky. I blame it on my mom feeding him a freshly cooked meal a few times when we left him with her. It's been impossible to get him to eat just dry food. Or even to eat at all some days. We tried so many different brands and even mixing with wet food. Sometimes he wouldn't even go for that. But we didn't wanna have to rely on wet food and peanut butter all the time. So we tried this brand. Mainly because it was highly rated and still reasonably priced at under $1.10/lb. I really hope they keep these prices because this is the only food my dog will eat straight and he is way healthier. He acts like a 1yr old golden, his joints (which aren't stellar) don't give him issues anymore, and his skin and fur is healthier. Also it's made so that he doesn't need as much as he would with other foods. He's healthier than I've ever seen him and active! And he's always excited for dinner time. We feed him about 3 cups a day and 40lb bag lasts us about 8 weeks most of the time.

Picked this because it has glucosamine/chondroiton for my 9-year-old Aussie-Lab mix, and the fact that I just don't think you can beat Victor's ingredients for the price. I fed her Diamond Naturals or Kirkland Nature's Domain grain free before, which are also good foods. I like the fact that Victor sources ingredients close to home, has only one plant, and has never had a dog food recall. She's not a fussy eater, but is usually a little reluctant when changing foods. She loved this right away and thoroughly licks the bowl clean when the kibble is gone. I'm only about 5lbs into this food, but I think I see a little improvement in her coat already. Her stools are very firm, small and dark, as they always were with Nature's Domain as well. Victor foods appear to be an unbeatable value.
