In 7 years of weekly orders I have had only 4 times when delivery took longer than 3 days. I think that is pretty impressive. I have two very active dogs. It was a challenge to keep their weight low enough to do the trails yet enough nutrition and calories to be healthy. I called Victor directly and they put me in contact with a agent there that helped me pick out the right food for my needs. Both dogs as well as 3 dogs I train for others have been on Victor Dog food since puppyhood. No issues, poop regular, consistent stools and the proof is in their bloodwork that always come back stellar. I do give them Lean Chicken 3 times a week when working hard. And I add 2 eggs per day into their food. I can not be happier with this product and it is worth every penny. I have had clients change foods only to go back to Victor. I train my dogs to poop in a designated mulch area in the yard , that is scooped out once a week. I have also noticed that the Victor Food poo does not smell as bad, even consistency and it seems my dogs do not go as often as the visiting dogs who are on other foods. Some dogs that have come on board with the in house Victor food , when it occurs I notice a few things within a few weeks, better skin/less dry, better skin around the eyes/less dry. And over a month later better nails/less flaky/splitty and even better paws not as smelly and smoother/softer. Shepherds are big shredders and prone to skin dryness. I have never had dandruff or skin issues. Both have had heart scans and their arteries are clear. All is working , All are healthy, I am Very Very Happy.

FINALLY!!!!!

We had been looking to switch foods for our 9 y/o GSD after he developed tummy issues on Sojos (they sold the company and I swear they switch ingredients or something that didn't settle well with him!) we tried Arcana and Orijens but they were a bit too rich for Cooper's sensitive tummy. Our trainer suggested Victor's and he even started him on the beef and rice during a boarding session. He tolerated so well, Cooper transitioned to the food in less than a week! After we picked him up sped over to our local pet store where we bought a small bag of the "Hero" blend. A good omen that there is a GSD on the bag! LOL Two days later, Cooper was off all tummy meds and back to his sassy self. Called Chewy.com and ordered the biggest bag they had and he has been a happy pup since! My wallet is happy as well! Thanks again to everyone at Chewys! Purchased and returned or donated 3 bags of food with no questions asked! Customer service at its best! We are Chewy customers for life!!

Victor hero grain free food is amazing. It’s made a huge difference in my Hazel’s coat and skin. She is an American Staffordshire terrier and very sensitive. This food has made her coat thicker, softer, shiny, and she doesn’t shed. She doesn’t itch any more like she was. Her skin doesn’t have dry flaky patches. I am so impressed. He muscle tone is beautiful she has a spring in her step and her stools look perfect. Before it seemed she would struggle a bit and they were much to compact and hard. (Seems strange to talk about stools but they are very important to pay attention to for dogs health and well being) I have been using other Victor foods for a long time and I decided to try this one. Yes it’s a bit more expensive and 10 lbs less but WORTH EVERY PENNY. I’m on my first bag about 1/2 way through. The difference in Hazel I didn’t expect to see this kink of improvement so quickly. She loves it. She weighs 67 pounds which is the vet said it’s very good she’s tone. she eats 4-5 cups a day A bowl when it’s empty and it measures out I pay close attention but I never leave her bowl empty. She has strange eating times she’s at night like I do. Definitely I would recommend this food if you have sensitive skin issues or you just want your dog to look “freaking” gorgeous and healthy and happy. I am going to order again and review again after I use a second bag. Thanks to everyone that does leave reviews I get better products for my Hazelnut.

Excellent Food

I feed this to all three of my working German Shepherds. This food keeps my dogs at a perfect weight year round no matter how hard they work. Their coats are fantastic

I feed this to all three of my working German Shepherds. This food keeps my dogs at a perfect weight year round no matter how hard they work. Their coats are fantastic and they are in great health. The only thing I will say is that the kibble is very small and one of my three boys tends to inhale his food, so I've had to add water to his meals to slow him down. When I started my dogs on this food, Chewy.com didn't carry Victor dog foods, so I purchased the food at a local store. The price of this food is about $6 cheaper per bag at my local store. So, while it is less convenient than having it delivered, I will continue purchasing it there until their price increases or Chewy.com's price drops to match/beat my local store's price I will continue purchasing it at the store. However, I love this food and I highly recommend it!

We have tried multiple dog food for our finicky GSD. She had recurring diarrhea. We ran every test to try and figure out the cause. We came up empty. At the recommendation of my girl's trainer we tried Hero. She loves it and hasn't gotten tired of it. The diarrhea is now very infrequent. I am pleased to have a nutritionally balanced diet.

My dogs love this food! They're always asking for more, I started adding green beans to slow them down. I have 4, a senior toy poodle with hardly any teeth, a Jack Russell mix, a Staffordshire Terrier and a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. The kibbles are a decent size for everyone. The poodle can chew them easily and the big dogs don't pretend they're crumbs. I switched to Victor after the Earthborn recall. I had been faithfully feeding it rotationally for a decade. After much panic and research, I found Victor. It checks every box on my long list of standards. The added supplements for joint health have actually made a difference in mobility for my senior's. Also, this is the only other brand I've fed that didn't create nail splitting and peeling issues. I also love that I can get a 50 lb bag instead of a 20 lb bag. Being that my husband is a veteran, it's nice to know this food helps a great program as well.

We have an english bull terrier that took us literally 31 years to finally get....we researched this breed for years, after speaking to countless breeders we quickly learned that bull terriers especially all white bt's are just prone to allergies and skin issues....a good diet that is corn, soy and wheat free is key to keeping them healthy along with a good daily vitamin....alot of them also reccommended Victor because this brand just works wonders for our breed, however it was not available to us anywhere...I contacted chewy.com and as usual they not only got the product but they got it in all the best flavors and at the best price.....Bully is a little king and is very picky, this has everything he needs but he actually loves it and has no idea how good it is for him... he just thinks it is tasty...we like to give him different flavors this brand makes it possible to do that as the protein and things are all pretty much the same so you can switch flavors no problem...he never gets sick like if you switch brands snd switch up with other foods. He does great on Victor and we are extremely happy to be able to get it for him. THANKS again chewy.com and THANKS victor!

I am not usually one to leave reviews, but this food is one I highly recommend! My 5 year old Lab is about halfway through his second jumbo bag of Hero Canine and the transformation in his skin and coat has been incredible. He has always had a "hard" coat and flaky skin on the other grain-free dog food lines we have tried, even along with fish oil supplements. Now his coat is super soft and has a sheen he has never shown before. He had TPLO knee surgery last fall and we were looking for a food with good joint support and this one was recommended to us. He is doing great and if the inside is as healthy as his outward appearance, then I am sold on this food! The Chewy auto ship makes things super simple, too, so it's a win-win.

I did a lot of research before I switched to this because venison was scarce and had tripled in price. It had a high rating from independent sources. It has taurine which is the heart health scare of grain free foods because it lacks taurine. They've not had a recall I can find since they started back in the 50's. I even called and grilled the company about the food. They were helpful, knowledgeable and nice! So I bought it! My GSD is almost 10 and loves it. Eats it up, has nice normal poops and switching was easy. Slow transition for 10 days and no issues. This food is a good deal for me and good nutrition for my dog.

After rotating through so many high end reasonably priced foods this is the food I always find my way back to. My kids range from 5lbs all the way up to 120lbs and they love it. Never needed to add any wet food or toppers of any kind. One is allergic to chicken and grains and most limited ingredient foods don't sell big enough bags to last long for my 4 babies. Since I have 2 of em that are Great Pyrenees they need something with vitamins for their joints and this has everything that fits their needs. The bites are small enough for my picky Toy Poodle. Can't go wrong with Victor. Only made a switch due to dropped prices on other healthy foods. Never switching again.
