I have fed Victor Hi Pro before and for the most part my dogs did well on it. What I'd like to know is why it doesn't have any Glucosamine or Chondroitin in it for joints? Also I like to rotate proteins now and then. What food does Victor make that could be rotated with HI Pro Plus?

Firstly, my dogs loved this… so that’s saying a lot! I tend to lean toward high quality kibble with meat as the first ingredient. This slightly misses the mark leading with beef meal instead. Kibble had little to no aroma, and was much darker than the kibble I normally feed, a very very dark brown in color. Not sure I would order again just due to my personal feelings that it isn’t at the same level of quality as I normally feed, but not everyone is willing to pay a premium price for dog food, and with the high protein content and fact thst my dogs liked it, this would be a good choice.

My two dogs, Parker and Belle, are high energy cattle dogs who are always on the move. The VICTOR Hi-Pro Plus 30/20 food is an excellent option for Parker and Belle! This VICTOR dog food has a higher calorie content than many other foods we have tried, which provides my dogs with their dietary needs and keeps their tummies full and happy. This food does not have a strong smell to me, but my dogs both loved it and left me with clean bowls. The kibble size is fairly small, I would consider this to be suitable for any size dog. Overall, this is a great food for active dogs who need a higher calorie meal.

I have not tried the 30/20 high protein formula, so I was excited to add this to their current meals. I am topping their meal with a handful of this food, and they definitely enjoy it as no food is left behind. My dogs are high energy and in sports, so this food is a good addition to what I am currently feeding them.

Hank is a bundle of energy who loves long hikes, agility training, and endless games of fetch while training for our REAL job (duck hunting), so his nutrition needs to keep up with his lifestyle. From the moment I opened the bag, I noticed the food smelled fresh, not overly processed like some brands. Hank is usually a bit picky, but he dove right in at the first sniff. The kibble size is perfect; not too big or small, and it’s easy for him to chew and digest. What truly impressed me was the immediate difference in his coat. Within a few weeks of switching, his fur became shinier, and he seemed more alert and playful. This food is packed with high-quality proteins and essential nutrients, which is exactly what an active dog like Hank needs. Also a big fan of the auto-ship here (as someone who chronically rides the lightning between running out of shipments). If you have a working or athletic dog, this food is worth every penny.

I decided to try VICTOR Hi-Pro Plus 30/20 Active Sporting High Protein Gluten-Free Dry Dog Food for my dog Buddy, who is a very high-energy dog. I was curious to see if it would truly make a difference in his stamina and overall health. After switching him over, I definitely noticed positive changes. His coat looks noticeably shinier and feels softer, which was a great bonus. Even more impressive, he seems to have more pep in his run and better sustained energy during playtime. He’s always been active, but this food seems to support his energy levels without any crashes. Overall, I’m really happy with the results and feel good about feeding him something that supports both his performance and coat health. I’d recommend it to other owners of high-energy dogs looking for a quality high-protein option.

I purchased a 50 lb bag after reading reviews for this dry food and created a Chewy account to take advantage of the deal offered. Out of the bag, the chemical and charcoal notes were of putting, and I was immediately concerned about whether the dogs should even be offered the food. We have three dogs, all of whom are healthy eaters. All disliked the food to the point of not eating. The acrid smell of chemical, charcoal and burnt notes was overwhelming out of the gate, and even mixed with quality wet food, they refused to eat. This stuff is awful.

My two golden retrievers have been on it for 4 glorious years, and not once have we faced the dreaded poopocalypse. No diarrhea. No mystery puddles. Just beautifully sculpted, firm, non-stinky masterpieces. Their coats? Shiny like a shampoo commercial. Their energy? Zoomies on point. But the real star of the show? THEIR POOP. Uniform. This is the best dog food I have used for my and my mother's 5 dogs. I recently switched to Victor and am using a mixture of this and Victor Nutra Pro, with some dogs getting more or less proportion of one or the other. 4 of the dogs are Ibizan Hounds ages 1, 6, 7, and 9. The other dog is a 2 year old Beauceron. This food agrees well with all of them and maintains them in excellent condition. I recently graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor in Animal Science and will be getting a PhD in Pharmacology. This food exceeds my expectations in ingredients, price and quality. It helped my moms 6 and 9 year old lose weight from Purina One and my dogs have gained muscle and a bit of weight despite their highly active lifestyle. These two dogs almost exclusively eat this formula. With increased exercise and Hi Pro Plus, the 9 year old has dropped about 10 lbs. I recently put them on Purina Pro Plan Performance 30/20 because this product became unavailable on Amazon. They looked terrible and had a large volume of stool. I then discovered Chewy and their service is amazing! Just as good as Amazon!
