For a pet weighing up to 50 pounds, give 1 chew daily. For a pet weighing 51-100 pounds, give 2 chews daily. For a pet weighing over 100 pounds, give 3 chews daily. It is recommended to give approximately 30 minutes before a known stress-causing event.

Positive Effective, not a Miracle Cure

My Rescue Pup is a difficult case. She came to me on a steady diet of Gabapentin and Trazodone, that I felt was making her mean. My vet recommended Composure Pro, but price led me to try this first. I'd also tried the Hemp Chews. My sweet girl loves other dogs, but is terrified of people, even us. She's been with us almost four months now, and will let us feed her, but is terrified to have us pet or touch her. Someone really did a number on her. So I really wanted a chance to get to know the real her, without medication. Now I'm moving forward with the mildest calming agents possible. Interestingly, she took these from me as a treat the first day or two, but then like other supplements, wanted nothing to do with them after that. So I add them to her meal and she consumes them with no problem. I have noticed, she's not as jumpy, but I would go as far to say she's calm. So they are having a positive impact, but it's no miracle cure. I think it's just going to take time, but I will continue using this product since the Composure pro is just too expensive for me at this time. The only difference in the addition of Tryptophan, and I don't need her to be sleepy.

Moderately effective and tasty but were dried out

A few months ago I started getting these for my Doberman mix at the suggestion of our veterinarian. They had a noticeable effect since day one on helping our dog be less anxious/whiny/tense. We sometimes will give her 2-3 treats before going to the vet, clipping her nails, or giving her a bath and it helps make the process a bit smoother. It helps “take the edge off” but isn’t a cure-all. I’d say if her anxiety was a 10, the chews help bring it down to a 6.5 or so. She also really loved the taste of the chews since day one. On my last order, the chews looked different and were much harder and drier than usual. I attached a picture. They were harder to break and had a weird light powdery look on the exterior. Usually, they look a lot like they do on the official pictures: brown and uniform in color. My dog still likes them, but this could be why a recent reviewer’s dog didn’t like them, since usually they’re much more moist and soft. Hopefully, this is a one-time thing and the chews didn’t go bad/stale and still work.

I was told to try these by my vet after we lost our soul pup and my other dog's best friend. His separation anxiety increased after we had to say goodbye to our girl, and he was grieving deeply with us. I started with a half dose, morning and evening, because he's so sensitive to meds of any kind. It does seem to calm him quite a bit and has stopped the new behavior patterns of pacing the house, moaning as if he were in pain (grief), and, in general, not sleeping as soundly. He has had zero issues in eating them as a "treat".

Worked for my girl

We got these for our boxer who has severe anxiety during thunder storms. I don’t know what caused her fear because she was perfectly fine through some pretty bad

We got these for our boxer who has severe anxiety during thunder storms. I don’t know what caused her fear because she was perfectly fine through some pretty bad Florida summer storms up until she was around 4. Then, all of a sudden she was terrified. These help out a lot, as long as we can get them into her a little while before the thunder comes. She’s still scared, but it’s tolerable and she can actually relax some instead of pacing around, trembling and panting heavily. We will continue to buy these as long as she’s alive and use them for whatever situations bring her anxiety.

No effect even at double the dose

Have a senior beagle who gets agitated periodically, and a standard poodle with separation anxiety, and a visiting schnoodle who hyper focuses on my cats. The bag instructs a double dose can be given if no effect from the regular dose. I've given it to all 3 dogs at various times, under a variety of circumstances, and the schnoodle still barks maniacally trying to get the cats to play chase. The beagle still barks compulsively for reasons that remain somewhat mysterious (she seems to get ravenously hungry periodically no matter what or when she's eaten - yes there have been vet visits and bloods, nothing dX'd). The poodle still jumps up and down frantically while whining to get to me when I am not within reach. I've tried all the doses. I've given on empty stomachs and full stomachs, different times of day, prior to triggering situations. Absolutely no difference. The dogs all eat them, so that's something. But I could have bought a lot more quality treats for the cost of this bag, with the same result.

My first praise of this item is that it actually works! Recommended by my vet, this has really helped reduce the stress of thunderstorms and fireworks. My poor Marley would shake so bad you could hear his teeth chatter-no more! If a storm is coming and I give him two of these ahead of time he sleeps right through it. Second bonus is that this is double the count sold at my vet's office for almost the same price. At $33 for $120 I was paying $30 for 60 at the vet's. So I am a permanent customer of this product!

LOVE THESE!

My dog hates loud booms and noises. Since I live about 10 miles from an Army training base he hears the booms they make all the time. I give him one of these everyday

My dog hates loud booms and noises. Since I live about 10 miles from an Army training base he hears the booms they make all the time. I give him one of these everyday and he does really great with them! He loves the flavor and they never make him groggy. He still has all his usual energy and just doesn't care to bother with the loud booms that may come from base.
