About This Item

Details

Vetmedin is a prescribed FDA Approved veterinary inodilator that aids in dilating veins and arteries. It also works to increase cardiac output, which lightens the workload of your dog's heart. Vetmedin may also help your dog with congestive heart failure so she can feel better and improve her quality of life. Given every 12 hours, the unique dual action of Vetmedin dilates the blood vessels carrying blood to and from the heartreducing the preload and afterload on the heartwhile simultaneously improving contractility of the heart muscle. Pimobendan, Vetmedins active ingredient, reduces stress on the heart while increasing cardiac output, without raising oxygen or energy consumption. Vetmedin helps dogs engage in the daily activities they enjoy. These chewable tablets have a wag-worthy beef flavor and are available in four convenient dosing sizes (1.25 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg).

We directly source prescription medications from manufacturers and wholesale distributors registered with the FDA and licensed by applicable state boards. Guaranteed genuine, and where applicable, backed by the manufacturer.

I recently found out my border collie has DCM, Dilated cardiomyopathy, which is a serious disease where the heart doesn't function like it should. My girl is my world and when my vet told me they didn't have the Rx on hand for her and it'd take a week or more to get I was so worried because left unmanaged DCM can lead to rapid decline in the dog. So I looked around and found out Chewy could get the Rx faster than my vet so I placed my order. Because an Rx on their site requires vet approval I was very worried when it didn't get approved for a couple days. I called Chewy and not only was their staff super nice and understanding they actually called my vet to get the approval right then and there while I was on the phone and even expedited my order to next day delivery. I cannot tell you how relieved I was. My girl is doing better with the meds and I'm so grateful Chewy made a very stressful situation much easier for us.

I ordered 4 bottles just to be safe and not run out. After everything happened I called chewy and asked if I could return the 3 brand new bottles I had left over, I told them why I didn’t need them any more and they refunded me for all 4! Then they sent us a written note with flowers! No one in our family did anything like this, chewy is amazing. Dealing with them is like dealing with the sweetest small business you could ever dream of. Thank you so much chewy for making a rough situation feel like there’s so much love in the world in the places you would never expect, like a huge online pet business.

My dog was diagnosed with a heart murmur that was a 4/6 in July of 2019. He was prescribed Vetmedin 5mg (2.5mg twice daily) immediately after diagnosis. My dog was 9 1/2 years old at the time of diagnosis and he lived up until 16 1/2 years old. His heart murmur never got worse and stayed at a 4/6 until his last day on Earth. Without Vetmedin, we would not have been able to enjoy almost 7 more years with our loving boy. Thank you Vetmedin and Chewy.

This was for my 13 years old Chihuahua who I rescued at 8 weeks old. She had severe heart diease. I was able with help from her medicines to have her 4 months longer than what the Vet thought she would live. She passed away 2 days before her Vetmedin arrived so I donated the new prescription since it was never opened to our Rescue One for another dog with heart problems might live a little longer like Roxy. I miss my little Roxy so bad but she crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is running free and healthy now.

My dog had heart failure and unfortunately died before the medication arrived (which Chewy overnighted free of charge). When I called to see if I could send them back to donate to someone needy they told me to take them to a local vet and refunded the entire order. Wasn't looking for a refund but was pretty cool of them. Two days later a bouquet arrived from Chewy with a condolence card. Keep in mind this is a company that I had never done business with before and had not made a dollar off of me. I have been in the service business for almost 30 years and THIS is how service is done. Hell of a company and when I get another pet ALL of their needs are coming from Chewy.

Within six months of adoption, Jax got triple whammied and not in a good way. First he gained an enormous amount of weight. The conservative assumption by the vet was that he was eating too much and needed to be on a measured (he wasnt fed more than my other two, who always maintained a healthy weight) weight control kibble. When that yielded no results, his vet finally did blood work. That yielded a diagnosis of hypothyroidism. His previous owners gave him up with the expectation that he was going to be euthanized because of his anxiety so they probably thought it was pointless to mention his hypothyroidism. His TSH was through the roof. He went from 16.5 lbs to nearly 21 lbs. He was put on .2 mg thyro-tabs twice a day but the damage to his heart was already done. Another vet detected a murmur in the 3 or 4 range. He was started on Vetmedin 1.25mg 2x a day and Enalapril 1.25 mg 1x a day. It's been nearly 5 years since his diagnosis and he's approaching 13 years old. When the vet told me his diagnosis, it brought me to tears because I thought I wouldn't have him long. Vetmedin has been a miracle for him. Oh, the third whammy is IBS but I blame his anxiety for that. He's anxious, he's a little weird but so am I.

My Chihuahua has been on this for a year now and I’ll forever be grateful for every extra day. I get with her due to this medication. She got diagnosed with congestive heart failure after surgery that was life or death for her. She’s been put through the wringer, but is acting like a puppy again. Prior to the surgery, she did have a grade 3 or 4 murmur. Shortly after surgery, she was coughing. Took her to the vet which saw an enlarged left atrium but no fluid. Which got us on this medication right away. Her first cardiologist appointment confirmed the left atrium and congestive heart failure. We will have a better understanding of how it’s progressing in January. I am forever thankful for all the others to help me understand this better. The reviews for this medication truly helped me have more hope. I appreciate Each and every review that could give me a better understanding of how Much time I might have And a better understanding of other Symptoms and what to look out for. Thank you chewy!

I bought this medicine for my dog who was seriously ill with heart disease. Unfortunately I was only able to use 2 pills once the subscription arrived before my sweet dog passed away. This was a very expensive medicine so I called to see if Chewy would accept a return refund. To my surprise the assistant expressed her condolences and proceeded to refund my payment. She suggested that I donate the medicine to my vet or human society as they could not accept the return medicine...which I did. The costs of Vet bills and care for my dog during end-stage was a financially hardship. I was more than grateful for the refund to my account. As a loyal Chewy customer, this was appreciated and exceptional customer service ! Thank you Chewy!!

I don’t write reviews often, but when an individual or company goes above and beyond, I feel compelled to share my experience. Chewy’s slogan is “Chewy Cares,” and they truly do. Last month, I called to update my auto-ship order for my Yorkipoo’s heart medication since I was scheduled for surgery the following day. The representative, whose name I unfortunately forgot, was wonderful. She assisted me with empathy and understanding. A week later, I received a package from Chewy. It contained a Chewy cup, some Tazo tea, and a heartfelt get-well card. Who does that? What an exceptional company! Not only do they excel in shipping my pet supplies, but they also care about their customers. I was so touched that I showed it to my family. How amazing! I had another interaction with their customer service department this week. I realized I must have made a mistake, as another auto-ship for my Morkie’s Hill's Science Diet food (25 lb) was scheduled to arrive the next day, even though I had just received one last week. This bag would last my Morkie for about nine months. I explained that I would send it back, but the representative advised me to donate it to a shelter or rescue organization, and that they would reimburse me for the cost. I was incredibly impressed. What a great company! Even if their medication prices are slightly higher (and in my case, they are not), I will always choose Chewy. I order my Yorkipoo's prescription food and have now added my Morkie's as well. Chewy not only claims to care but also demonstrates it through its actions. Great job, Chewy! I appreciate how you care for my dogs and for me, their owner. Thank you for hiring and training such dedicated individuals. I hope you can find their names so I can credit them for their outstanding customer service. I work for Progressive Casualty Insurance Company, and we pride ourselves on our customer service. Chewy, your representatives are excellent and truly an asset to your company.
