My dog suffers from allergies. He lost his feet hair from chewing them so much. His toes were RED and RAW looking! Then his skin was turning a black color. He would also get really smelly and greasy. I later found out that it’s a sign of over productive yeast in his skin (due to his grass smut allergy) . So chewy recommend this stuff. This is actually the cheap version of what they recommend. IT WORKED LIKE MAGIC! It’s taken away all the red inflammation! Took away the black tint to his skin. And best of all I DONT HAVE TO GIVE HIM A BATH EVERY FEW DAYS ANYMORE! I use this shampoo once a week. (Still a lot I know) but it helps so much with stinky oily skin. I was having to give my dog a bath every other day because he would start smelling so bad! So getting that down to just once a week is a miracle! I was losing hope that my boy would ever get better! But this stuff works yall! No more black patches of skin. No more tomato toes! No more corn chip smelling dog! No more oily fur! I can’t thank chewy enough for recommending this stuff. (Oh they also have a spray!) I use that after I dry him off and by the next day everything stated above is gone! I must add, I was worried about this stuff not working since it was WAY CHEAPER than the stuff chewy recommend. But it works great! So if money is an issue this is a cheap alternative! So this fixed all my dogs yeast issues stemming from allergies. 100% recommend!!!

my dog has the absolute most sensitive skin in the world and this is the only shampoo that helps. she has seasonal allergies and this shampoo really helps soothe the itching and hot spots. her tummy will get super red, this is the only shampoo that has helped her allergies and doesn’t irritate her skin/coat. she is an 11 year old black lab/ german shepherd mix. very shiny coat, excessive shedding. we follow up with the medicated conditioner as well.

I didn't want to put her on oral medication due to her age, I heard it's hard on the kidneys. I've used this shampoo 3 times now and she's only developed 2 new sores in 2 weeks. Before it was a new sores daily. She's way less itchy and irritated also. Hopefully at this rate she'll be over this real soon.

My 15 year old, senior rescue got very sick last year, with what seemed an upper respiratory but turned out he had a yeast infection that just would not clear despite numerous trips to the vet for anti fungal medications and antibiotics plus 2 rounds of eardrops. A year of this. A year of smearing him with over the counter yeast cream, baths with other great products (just couldn’t keep it gone) and sprays. I grabbed this shampoo product pretty much out of desperation. I bought the spray too. The trick seems to be a couple fold:1) really soak them entirely through before you apply 2) when you apply, get in there to every single inch and really pay attention to the most yeasty areas (for him, besides those fat little armpits, his corgi drums were just gross 3) leave that shampoo on for the time it says-I actually left it a bit longer and he was fine 4) rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse really really well *I actually shampoo’ed twice. Around 2-3 days later, big long tubes of dandruff castings came off his back...it was so gross, *but it worked!!! I brushed the dandruff off then started using the spray twice a day for a couple days, then dropped to once a day, then every couple days. Did second wash couple weeks later and left the shampoo on for the total recommended time-don’t skimp on the time, I think this is keyto killing the yeast. It finally broke enough where no more gross massive dandruff. Even his hair is finally growing back in his arm pits. His fur looks & feels amazing. It is not as plush as prior to this horrible infection but we are getting there. So, with all of the meds, ear drops, this shampoo (and spray) seem to really work to kill the gross yeast he was exposed to. Buying another bottle and we are on second bottle of spray. No adverse issues I have noticed and I use it often.

My dog started having some skin issues for the first time as she’s getting older ( she just turned 6) , and got a couple hot spots . She was constantly scratching and digging at herself until she made bald spots on her coat , and the skin was blood red and irritated. I read reviews on several options of shampoos and medications and decided to go with this shampoo. I’m so glad I did, upon the first shampoo she got immediate relief, and the redness went away quite a bit . I waited 5 days and shampooed her again by which time she had improved greatly. About 5 days later I used it for a 3rd time and she’s completely healed up and her hair is growing back nicely. You can’t go wrong with this shampoo , it is the best and helps with so many skin issues. It didn’t seem to sting or bother her at all . And it truly helps with just one bath. So if your dog is having any kind of skin issues do not hesitate to buy this shampoo, you’ll be glad you did. And Chewy’s prices and customer service can’t be beat . They can answer any questions you may have. Also on a side note : along with this shampoo I bought the Zymox topical spray to put on the places after her bath and applied the spray twice daily. It’s a little pricey compared to the other sprays but it worked 100 percent better than the others I tried . So I will keep the Zymox spray and this shampoo on hand from now on to use at first sign of an issue with my fur baby.

Battling yeast allergies seems to take forever to get under control. Finding the right dog food, ones with good ingredients and no sugars or syrups or excess carbs that break down into sugar to feed the yeast. Then trying to find treats that are healthy and natural....it's quite the process. (I do not understand why dog food mfgrs have to use some type of sweetener, is that the only way dogs will eat their food?) Trial and error can get extremely expensive, in the past I've probably given away more dog foods than I have kept. Anyway I believe that I have finally gotten the food part (his internal immune system working properly thru his diet) and using this Antiseptic & Anti-fungal Shampoo is like the cherry on top to disinfect his external yeasty body parts. I love this shampoo! Smells like sour grapefruit when bathing him but there is no lingering after smell, he just smells like clean dog. Also after I blow dry him I have never seen him look so clean and bright and fluffy. Even my neighbors wanted to know what had changed with him. Biggest bonus of all....the scratching, licking and horrible body odor are pretty much a thing of the past. Veterinary Formula Clinical Care is an amazing shampoo and this coming from one who has bought into all the anti-itch shampoos (I have a cabinet full of barely used products). And even more awesome....Chewy has the cheapest price.

My 4 lb yorkie was losing her hair and was constantly scratching. She doesn't like any fish oils. I have spent so much money in finding a solution without having to go to the vet's office for allergy tests and skin tests. She was so miserable with her constant scratching throughout the day and night. I did a little bit of research and found that the ingredients in this product helps with her symptoms. After further research, I found that other retailers charge more for less product. So I decided to buy it at Chewy, because you get more bang for your buck. This shampoo works! I bathe my yorkie once a week and in 3 weeks, her hair has started growing back. Her itching and scratching was immediate. You have to follow directions on the bottle. It's recommended to leave this product on for 10 minutes. I leave it on for 15-20. I love this product and this will be my yorkie's permanent shampoo. I highly recommend it.

Finally 1 bath every week for 3 weeks then it went to 1 every two weeks. It took about a month or so but it made him look like a great dog. I even used the flea and tick. I would always recommend this product to anyone thank you again veterinary formula clinical care.

My review is unusual: Our Girl, Stella Grace of 15 years 4 months , went to the Rainbow Bridge on March 29, 2025......We, (Mom, Dad & sister Jenna Rose) were devastated and still trying to find our new normal. We did tell Chewy"s rep. Liana when we called about it because we ordered a lot monthly for Stella. Fast forward 2 weeks & we received a package from Chewy unexpectedly and inside was a Beautiful decorated stone with Stella Grace's name on it...... at first we were shocked and then we weeped but with Happiness & Gratitude, What a wonderful surprise & SO Thoughtful. I have a white lab mix and about 2 months ago she has had this horrible itchy skin that turned into redness and flaky dry skin and she would itch all day and night, she had it on her paws, her back, her stomach, her underarms. But then I found this stuff and I was surprised I never gave this stuff a try! See I’ve tried so many things like aloe Vera, coconut oil, allergy chews, etc. So I got this product and started using it 2 times a week on her skin and about a month later her skin looks so much better! Now I’ve decreased the use to once a week! Our neighbors keep complimenting her new coat that looks like it’s never had a problem haha! Give this stuff a try for your doggo you won’t regret it!
