Skeptical at first, but Horses LOVE it!!!

We have 3 horses, 2 younger ones and 1 senior. They are all part draft, my old mare has FFWS which has improved some, but that's besides the point. My senior mare is a uber picky eater and has been going off feed, not finishing her feed or just turning away all together. She didn't get much to begin with, but it was clear the old grain wasn't doing it for her. Our youngest would paw and be super aggressive eating her grain... Once switched, our barn is quiet while everyone munches happily on their Tribute grain! Everyone looks amazing! My old mare started to develop dapples, I've owned her for 5 years now she would bleach out terribly every summer. I love that this balancer has low NSC and it only takes 1lb per day! It looks and smells delicious! All the equine approve 100%! Hopefully chewy will keep this stuff in stock!

I've struggled trying to find a ration balancer for my three very different horses. The Wholesome Blend RB is what I settled on. It satisfies the picky eater who won't touch anything with soy. This is soy free. Depending on the horse, they get 1-2 pounds per day as their diet is forage based. I divide feedings to 2x a day. Picky eater is maintaining his weight while in work, the overweight horse is slowly dropping weight and retired OTTB is maintaining weight even though he runs a little hot. The only thing extra they get is a tbs. salt, a balanced omega 3/6 oil and extra Vit E (for two neurological horses). These are my choice extras and have been doing so for years regardless of the feed and not necessarily required additives to this product. We've cut costs, time and confusion on who gets what. The nutritionist at Tribute is very helpful in answering all of my questions. I highly recommend!

I researched this product and the website says that the feeding rate is the usual 1lb per feed as typical of a ration balancer. HOWEVER, the bag actually states

I researched this product and the website says that the feeding rate is the usual 1lb per feed as typical of a ration balancer. HOWEVER, the bag actually states an idle horse needs to be fed 5 POUNDS to 10 POUNDS per day! I’ve now been under feeding this product for 3-4 bags worth of ration balancer.

I was spending $250 a month on bagged Senior feed for my two horses. It seemed like the more I fed them, the worse the looked. So I decided to switch to a ration

I was spending $250 a month on bagged Senior feed for my two horses. It seemed like the more I fed them, the worse the looked. So I decided to switch to a ration balancer since I was already feeding them teff hay and alfalfa. I compared many options reviewing the macro nutrients, ingredients, and added supplements. I was impressed by the protein content of this feed and decided to give it a try. My feed bill is now under $100 and I was able to cut back on supplementation. In addition to the cost savings, my horse devour this feed. They pick it out and leave their alfalfa pellets to finish after. I believe it has my horses approval, it has mine, and my vet said this is the best they have looked. My horses have been eating this feed for approximately 8 months.

Beautiful Feed

This is a very pretty feed thats rich and dark in color with bits of carrots peas and sunflower seeds although being it is textured you do get that kinda clumping

This is a very pretty feed thats rich and dark in color with bits of carrots peas and sunflower seeds although being it is textured you do get that kinda clumping hard together feel. It does contain cane Molasses BUT it should not affect any health issues such as laminitis or insulin resistant as based on my vet and Tribute statements, its just a small amount to bind the pellets so they dont crumble and fall apart. My horse does not have any current diagnosed medical issues however after my vet researched this balancer compared to ESSENTIAL K, she would recommend Essential K over this for an easy keeper with weight issues based on ingredients. So after this bag is done I will be switching. But overall, a GREAT Balancer option compared to many others. Higher quality in my opinion. My horse has been on Buckeye Gro n Win, Purina Enrich Plus & Nutrena Empower Topline. Trinute is the Winner in my opinion. Essential K is also another great balancer too by Tribute. But is not soy free as this is. I will be switching to Essential K as its bit cheaper and my vet did recommend that vs this for my horse for her own personal reasons. But give it a try, my horse gives 4 hooves UP!!! Yummmy on taste!!!!

Seems like a good feed

The feed came in excellent condition and fast. It looks good. Two horses ate it readily, the third is picky and took a day to warm up to it. You can see the vegetables

The peas are bright green. I make sure I weigh it out though since its a balancer. For anyone who buys it right now, Tribute messed up the label for feeding directions and stuck a sticker on the front of my bag with the correct feeding amounts. On there website they mentioned the feed bag label error. So just make sure your reading the right label as you don't feed a lot of this like you do some other feeds where you may feed several pounds a day, this is not one of those.

MY girls were almost constantly in heat all last summer and I'm concerned that soy (said to alter estrogen production) might be the reason. My vet also mentioned that she had seen horse behavior dramatically impacted (for the good) when on a non-soy diet.

We began using this feed as our baseline product at Elev8tion Equine, when it FIRST dropped due to the noticeably incredible, natural & balanced ingredients. We have continued with it being our main feed at Elev8tion Equine for over two years, with no foreseeable end in sight. Not only does it keep them feeling & looking their best, but the natural omega oils (black sunflower seeds etc) do WONDERS for their coats - truly keeping them at peek performance. The wholesome Blends easily and consistently support in maintaining weight for all types, ages, and disciplines - including (not limited too) our elderly, hard keepers, broodmares, foals, lactating mares, & breeding stallions. It is happily approved by us, & all the equines, including our most picky eaters. It’s nice to be able too literally SEE the natural ingredients (dried carrots, peas, etc). Even the textured feed doesn’t stick or clump from sugar and molasses like some grain. I’d 100% recommend - regardless of discipline, profession, or any particular horse. The saying “You get what you pay for” is true again in this feed. It’s a bit more expensive than ur typical grain, however there’s a reason for that… Success & Top quality does NOT come cheap nor easy.

Love this balancer! My horse refused his old balancer despite my many attempts to entice him into eating it. Now that I’ve switched, he licks his bucket clean. He’ll even leave his alfalfa for this balancer which was definitely not the case before. I really love the nutrition profile as well.
