So I was trying to view the feeding instructions for a horse that is idle that weighs 880-1100 lbs and it does not show how many lbs for them if it is used as a complete feed with no forage (hay or grass). Could you give me an idea of how many lbs a day this would be approximately?

can this be fed as a supplement instead of a hay replacer? if so, how much for a 1200 lb horse in light training?

I have an older draft cross who was losing weight on just hay. His coat was dull and he was pretty lethargic. After running all the tests at the vet, she concluded that it was likely due to his teeth just being worn down. So I slowly added the senior sport to his diet, in addition to some very leafy, fine stemmed alfalfa. He’s eating about 14lbs of the senior sport a day and looks fantastic. It only took about a month for me to get his weight back up. Would highly recommend!

I ordered a bag out of curiosity, knowing tribute makes excellent feed. Always looking for a softer feed for my senior quarter horse, especially in winter. I am thrilled with this feed. It is very soft, with beet pulp shreds and soft pellets, a higher fat, higher fiber and lower nsc feed (just what he needs). The bag smells like licorice and the horse loves it. The barn staff even asked what is he eating because he's enjoying his feed so much. This will be our feed of choice from here on, thanks to chewy for carrying it because I can't get it locally and it comes to my front door. Loving the expanding equine department, offering so many products on one site. Makes my life easier!

I love Tribute horse feeds, particularly the ones in pelleted form. With so many horses developing insulin resistance issues later in life, it's essential to be able to provide them with all the nutrients and calories they need without all the added sugar and starch. The beet pulp based, pelleted feeds are a much healthier alternative to so many "senior feeds" that are loaded with molasses and vegetable oil. After extensive research, I haven't found anything that compares to the quality and nutritional content of Tribute feeds. My mare love it and it smell great too !

Within a month or two he had put all of his weight back on, his top line improved, and his spicy im a 5 y/o personality came back in full force. Now that the grass has come in, I've had to cut him down to half (5lbs) his initial amount (10lbs) per day. He thrives on this stuff. I believe different horses benefit from different diets and have different needs, but if you are looking for a complete feed for a senior, a hard keeper, or a low sugar horse, I can not recommend starting with this feed enough!
