After running all the tests at the vet, she concluded that it was likely due to his teeth just being worn down. So I slowly added the senior sport to his diet, in addition to some very leafy, fine stemmed alfalfa. He’s eating about 14lbs of the senior sport a day and looks fantastic. It only took about a month for me to get his weight back up. Would highly recommend!

It is very soft, with beet pulp shreds and soft pellets, a higher fat, higher fiber and lower nsc feed (just what he needs). The bag smells like licorice and the horse loves it. The barn staff even asked what is he eating because he's enjoying his feed so much. This will be our feed of choice from here on, thanks to chewy for carrying it because I can't get it locally and it comes to my front door. With so many horses developing insulin resistance issues later in life, it's essential to be able to provide them with all the nutrients and calories they need without all the added sugar and starch. The beet pulp based, pelleted feeds are a much healthier alternative to so many "senior feeds" that are loaded with molasses and vegetable oil. After extensive research, I haven't found anything that compares to the quality and nutritional content of Tribute feeds. My mare love it and it smell great too !

NOT low NSC

This feed is great for keeping weight on a senior horse. My horse loved the taste, and it kept him looking great. I love Tribute products, and I have had great success

This feed is great for keeping weight on a senior horse. My horse loved the taste, and it kept him looking great. I love Tribute products, and I have had great success with all I have tried, but I feel it is misleading at best, and entirely false at worst, to label this low NSC. This is approximately 16.5%, and most sources use 12% as the threshold for being a "low NSC grain." After I looked into the actual percentage, I was shocked that such a reputable company would label this low NSC. I had to take my EMS horse off the grain, and his chronic laminitis improved shortly thereafter. Love the product - it does it's job! But it is not low NSC, and it was hurting my horse. Tribute, please consider removing this from your label.
