This bed is heavier than it looks and it’s very well-made. The fabric is a sturdy weave, with secure seams and tight stitching. It comes in its own carrying bag and everything was safely sealed inside a clear plastic bag. The bed itself is thickly padded all around, which accounts for the weight, plus it has a cushion for extra comfort. As I was taking it from the package and setting it up, Serena decided she had to inspect it for herself. She just decided I was through, pushed past me and that was that! It isn’t her most flattering picture, but she looked so cute I couldn’t resist posting it here anyway. She weighs a couple ounces under 12 lbs. Two cats around her size could easily snuggle together in it when set up as a cave. My 19 lb. cat fits inside with a little room to spare. It would be great for a litter of kittens to snuggle in. If you remove the cushion the top pushes down into the bottom and it becomes an open bed. One 12-15 lb. cat could curl up in it comfortably, but if your cat likes to drape themselves out over the edge of things, as mine do, there’s plenty of room no matter how big they are. You can even put the cushion inside, which nearly fills the bed, but makes it nice and soft. I placed mine in an area where my cats like to sleep. It immediately became a favorite. I can see where this would be a really great bed to take your cat(s) traveling with you and having it fold down flat for compact storage when not in use is a definite plus.

The quality of the bed is comfortable, and i love that you can collapse it for the cat to sleep as an open bed or leave open for a cat that likes to sleep in a cave. As soon as I took the bed out of the package, 3 of my cats took turns getting into and on the bed. I found them sleeping in it throughout the day, always a different cat. Nice color, and it feels almost like an orthopedic bed.
