I was an early adopter, been using the system since it first came out and would never go back! Total odor control and easy routine. Daily: Scoop poop, rake pellets, rotate pad Weekly: Change pad Monthly: Change litter and wash box with soap and water To address some problems noted in other reviews: Doesn't hide poop: No, it doesn't, and it's not intended to. The poop sits on top and is easily removed. Personally, I use doggy poop bags to pick it up, tie it closed and toss in the trash. Smells: The only smell is from fresh poop. If I notice it, I remove it right away; if not, the smell actually dissipates quite quickly. There is no ammonia smell at all, which is what I find most offensive in traditional litter boxes. I do use the name brand pads; I cannot speak to the odor-control of generic pads. Litter Falling Through/Dust Migrating: This is designed to be used with Breeze pellets; other litters do not work in this system. When used as designed, there is no dust and the pellets do not fall through. Sifter Doesn't Work: That's because this is not a sifter. Expensive: This is subjective. I pay $30 for a refill kit (8 pads and 7# of pellets. This lasts 2 months, so it works out to $15.00 a month. I find the value worth the price.

Cleanest little situation I’ve ever had in my 30+ years of having cats. It does track a little, probably because I have a big part Maine coon cat with huge feet, so they get between his toes. But it’s a manageable amount and simple to pick up. The way the urine falls down onto the pad is genius. Makes the litter always seem clean! Where have you been all my life?!!

Our kittens were raised on pine pellets so when we decided to keep them on it, we needed a box where it would be easy to clean and use this type of litter. This box is great for us. We use pine pellets instead of the breeze pellets in the top and dog potty training pads underneath to absorb urine. These pads have better coverage and are much more affordable than the ones sold for the box. When the cats pee, the pine pellets turn into sawdust so they fall through the grate onto the pee pad in the lower level. The pad works to absorb any urine not sucked up by the pellets. We also push the litter around the box once a day with a litter scoop to help the used pellets fall down. Every 3 days we remove the pad and all the disintegrated pellets. This step takes about two minutes and is so easy since the dog pad is large and all you have to do is fold it up and put it in a trash bag. We scoop poop out at least daily since that doesn't fall through and can be a bit smelly. We like the white surround on this box which helps contain the pellets when the cats dig. It is easy to clean with a sturdy scrubbing brush and so far it doesn't seem to retain odors (we've been washing it weekly). We find this system fairly low odor but best of all there is no mess on our floor since they can't track the pellets around. With our modifications this is a cheap, easy to clean, and fairly low waste option. We are happy with it for now.

Mixed Feelings. Good and Bad

Good: Great that there is no urine smell with the easy to change pads for 2 cats. Change pad every 2 days due to their urine issues. The pellets come out of box

Good: Great that there is no urine smell with the easy to change pads for 2 cats. Change pad every 2 days due to their urine issues. The pellets come out of box but easier to clean up than traditional pine or newspaper pellets. I love that it doesn’t crumble or cake up like cement. They do not track dust and dirt with these pellets because they stay hard and absorb great! Bad: They can’t cover their poop, so continuously scratching to try and carries the poop odor. Worst: The box is curved and not much room for them to squat or turn. It’s very small for a 7# & 12# cats. I feel bad for them with such a small space. Their space ends up being the size of the pad. I can see their frustration to squat. Due to the curve, the poop rolls back down after they move it out of the way to make space. If They made a deeper area to help the pellets stay in and a longer area to give the cats room to move and turn, this would be the best litter box system. I still think it’s good overall.

Tidy Cats almost had it...

I really like the concept of Breeze. Very easy to clean, no odor, no dust, no heavy lifting, and no tracking (except for an occasional pellet that gets kicked out of the box). However, I really wish it was bigger! The high back also curves in, and it extends into a "step" at the entrance - this takes away some space for the cat. Experts recommend that a litter box be at least 1.5 times the length of the cat. Including a picture of my cat, Vinny (12.5 pounds and not overweight) next to Breeze and you can see it's too small for him. The open design is much better than the hooded design though (I tried both). Other things I noticed... It can be noisy when the cat is digging around in the pellets. If you have a cat who produces a lot of urine (diabetes or kidney disease) then you may go through more pads and it may get a little expensive. If you have a cat prone to diarrhea (IBD) then I would not recommend Breeze - the pellets are not designed to handle diarrhea. Also remember that most cats will need a transition period. Breeze comes with directions and tips on how to transition your cat, and they do have a phone line you can call for further assistance with the transition. If you cat is very picky about their litter box and litter, they may not accept and use Breeze. Tidy Cats does guarantee their products, so save your receipt (or print out the receipt online) and keep the box (they need the UPC code and production code).

Best litter box ever

So I decided to give it a shot and can say that IT IS GREAT! First of all it is safe for my kitties (any clay (or gel) is NOT safe if your cat has health issues)

So I decided to give it a shot and can say that IT IS GREAT! First of all it is safe for my kitties (any clay (or gel) is NOT safe if your cat has health issues). Second – if I want I can control their urine – you can see it in the base of the box, that is very important if your cat has urinary tract or kidney disease. Third – NO dust and No tracking. If there are few pellets on the floor – I just put them back in the litter box. Forth – very economic, at least the way I use it. I don`t buy the pads, first of all they smell even after two days of use, second – they are really bad for the environment. So I buy Healthy Cat Okocat Clumping Wood Litter and put it into the base instead of the pads. One box 13.2 lbs lasts for about 6 month for two cats. No smell, safe, clumping, flushable.. What else do you need? And, I`m sorry, but I wash the pellets. I read some reviews here about it and decided to try. It is so easy! Once in 3 weeks or so I just wash the entire litter box and put fresh pellets into it. Dirty pellets I put into our old litter box (which I kept just for this purpose), pour the water and add bleach into it, leave it like that for couple hours and then wash the pellets using breeze system scoop, after – I rinse them thoroughly with water, drain and leave it to dry (which takes about 2 days). Here we go – fresh and clean pellets ready to use! Zero waste ;) So now I`m buying another box for the first floor. Totally recommend!

In this system, I have found the answer to my problem, with a modification of my own. My problem is that my cat has a health problem in that he drinks copiously, and urinates copiously. I bought the system , but I discovered that there is no catch bin under the pad tray. My cat quickly overwhelmed the pad and tray causing a flood of urine on the floor. I removed the pad tray and set the frame with grid into a large cat box that I already had on hand. It fits nicely, and provides a safe catch basin for the large amount of urine that is produced. I then simply move the frame intact from one large box to another, giving me a chance to dump and rinse the box. I think the manufacturer should create an underneath catch section. Could be optional like the hood. Just my opinion and a suggestion. Elizabeth Harner

Its not perfect

I bought this because my cats have urinary problems and their food makes them drink a lot resulting in a lot of pee. Its great, the pads soak up the pee and i can

I bought this because my cats have urinary problems and their food makes them drink a lot resulting in a lot of pee. Its great, the pads soak up the pee and i can barley smell it. Although the poop just sits on top and you can smell that. I had to do some modifications. I removed the top lid as my cats continuously peed on it. I bought a different litter, still pellets, but they dissolve and absorb some of the urine, But it still sifts through the bottom into the pee pads like it should. I bought dog training pee pads which are larger so they hang off the edges and catch any pee that may not make it into the box. This system reduces mess, and cost in the long run for me. I have 4 cats, and 1 of these boxes. If you manage your pads and pellets correctly, it can be a big time and money saver. It may be a bit more work, but im happy with the smell, lack of mess on my floor, and money in saving on cat litter every week.

I personally love this litter box system

Little long FYI. I live in an apartment so of course worrying about a cat in smaller space is normal. I’ve had this box for several months now. And it’s the best liter box ever, and I’ve had cats all my life. I don’t smell it (I have the covered one). I like the enhanced litter , it just has a fresher smell. Now the The pads, the pads are crazy! I had a oops cat mom moment . And forgot to change the pad for over a week. It did seep thru as expected, but I never smelled it till i I was cleaning!! I was so impressed. Never had litter system control the ammonia smell the way this one does. I find a few pellets here and there that are tracked out. But for the most, very low mess! And low maintenance. I will say, the cost of the pads could be a little lower. I personally think it’s a bit high, but they smell nice. I did Read a review about using puppy pads as replacement. I honestly had to write this review , after my oops cat mom moment. I do have a high maintenance prima donna cat lol, she’s so spoiled and she number 2 about once a day so of course my opinion is biased or based off my cat personally, but my opinion on the system is its awesome. I’ve had compliments from friends , saying how you wouldn’t know a cat lives here because it doesn’t smell. Which most cases being from their potty :)

best litter ever!

We love this litter system. We have had it almost the whole time we have had our boys (a year). We love how easy it is to maintain. We change out the litter once a month and change the pads once a week. We have two litter boxes for our two cats (you’re supposed to have at least two litter boxes). Every time I change the litter, I wash out the litter boxes in the bathtub with dish soap and Pinesol (I scrub them with the toilet scrubber). I rinse them well and let them dry before adding the new litter and pad. (Don’t worry, I clean the tub out after I wash the litter boxes). Our boys adjusted well to the litter system when we first brought them home. They also don’t have a preference towards the hooded litter box versus the open top, although they don’t like the narrow entrance to the hooded one, so I leave it half open. We love that there’s no dust. That means there’s little to no mess outside the litter box. And this litter system doesn’t have a smell like clay litter does. It’s Teddy and George approved!
