Designs “For the Birds”

Inspired by natural behaviors in the wild, these toy designs include a mix of stimulating materials. They provide a range of interactive and fun activities for birds who like to forage, shred, exercise, and play.

Playthings with a Purpose

Providing enrichment in the form of purposely designed toys can prevent boredom and reduce behavioral problems in pet birds. These toys encourage healthy, natural instinctual activities, because bird toys are more than mere playthings for your bird!

Foraging is Fun

In the wild, parrots spend up to 70% of their day searching for food, so birds are hardwired for this level of physical and mental engagement. Hiding food in foraging toys helps keep them busy while stimulating their curiosity and appetite.

Chew on This

Chewing is a natural for parrots, keeping their beaks fit and trim as they chew nesting holes in trees. However, this drive to chew can create problems if we don't give parrots suitable objects like destructible toys to chew.

About Super Bird Creations

My green cheek conure gets so excited when he sees me filling this! I tried putting his conure food mix into this mug and he actually prefers eating out of this than his regular food dish! Haha! He's also not much into toys in general (unless it's very interesting), and mostly likes to just chill and snuggle, so it makes me very happy to see him engaged with something. It's entertaining to watch, too. I also change the location of it now and then to add variety.

Of course Angel, who always goes after anything new, went right to it. She won't let Charlie, my other keet go near it so I will be forced to get another one for him, which I don't mind. Like having children - gotta have one for the other one too. A great way to keep her (Charlie's Angel) amused. I do would like these to have more colors.

This just arrived for me and to my surprise my bird was immediately attracted to this toy, usually hes afraid of new things. All it took was showing him how the flap lifts outside the cage and leaving it empty on top of yhd cage for him to observe for a little bit before installing it. After it was filled with some millet clusters he went right to investigating and playing with it! very impressive to me that he got his reward quickly and enjoyed the activity. the only reason this toy isn't 5 star for me is there was a slightly sharp edge on the mug handle that cut me. im glad i got hurt and not my sweet little parakeet. after clipping the spot off with a sprue cutter, there was no issues i could see. word to the wise, always check over toys before installation.

Lyra and Jane just turned 5 months old. Their personalities are just now coming through. Jane, the white and black one, will beat the heck out of it. She hasn't figured out how to get the treats inside yet. But she is young. Giving her time to figure it out. It is very small which works for parakeets. To small for a cockatiel. It looks so cute in their cage.

Somewhat interesting to bird

My Senegal was curious about this toy, especially when I put a treat in. It's very small but if it keeps him interested that's fine with me.

More colors than shown: Mine was red, could be a used as a hummingbird feeder.

I unboxed this little charmer and pulled out a bright-red mug with a bright, yellow cap that immediately got that neck-stretching, feathers-slightly-ruffled "look" from my black-capped that said: "I want that." And why wouldn't it? It's as red as a firetruck, a little glowing ruby. As a matter of fact, this simple product, designed for pet birds, could be the perfect hummingbird feeder: eye-catching, easy to hang, easy to fill, easy to keep clean, holds only enough nectar for a day or two so the nectar doesn't sour, and the hummingbird could easily fit his tongue through the holes in the flower-like cap to take a sip (Just make sure, if you do, never to share with your pet any feeders you've used to feed wild birds to avoid zoonotic disease). But back to my conure: after unboxing, I filled this simple mug forager with a variety of objects and treats and hung it. I then spent the rest of the afternoon watching him, treat-by-treat and tiny toy-by-toy, pluck out the treats while pecking at the red plastic. Then, when the cup was empty, he became fascinated by the cap. I watched him move the cap off the cup, move the cap on the cup, move the cap off the cup, move the cap back on again... "ahh." Conure bliss.

Parrotlet love this!

My parrotlet loves his foraging mug. This was his first foraging toy. I took the time to show him me placing the seeds inside the mug, and then how to move the lid to the side to get to the seed. I initially put it in a place that would make it easy for him to get his seed, and gradually increased the difficulty. Once he eats his morning breakfast, I place his favorite foraging treats inside and he goes straight to it! It takes him a few attempts to get what he wants which is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to clean as well.

OMG of all the things I bought for my GCC this one is Tiki approved. He LOVES this thing. He boxes with it and swings up on the chain trying to get it open to get the treat out. I can tell from the other room when he’s playing with this - he makes the sweetest little noises that sound like a wild flock of birds descending on a seed field. Tiki gives this 10 stars!

I bought this for my green cheek conure as a silly little birthday gift. I put seeds in it. It’s not super hard for her to get into, I was kind of hoping it would be more challenging BUT she really likes it and it was very cheap. Don’t regret the purchase at all.
