About Stella and Chewy’s

In 1997, Marie Moody adopted a dog named Stella from a local animal shelter. She soon decided that Stella needed a companion and adopted a sick pup named Chewy, who joined the family and helped forge the company’s history. On the advice of a veterinarian, Marie began feeding Chewy a raw diet to help with his health issues. He quickly recovered, and both he and Stella thrived on their new food. The experience led Marie to pursue her passion for pet nutrition and start her own business—Stella & Chewy’s.

The freeze-dried morsels in the bag of SuperBlends Raw Blend kibble are similar to the manufacturer's Meal Mixers, but not identical. The majority of their Meal Mixers are actually complete and balanced, so they could be used as a full meal. The freeze-dried inclusions in the Raw Blend kibble are not balanced, but instead add a wonderful boost of raw taste and nutrition to the kibble.

My dog, Magnolia, is 12 years old and has been free-fed her entire life. Her weight is fine and she nibbles here and there during the day. I introduced her to this food, and OMG. Slowly transitioned, and she spat out all her old food. Did that for several days. Then replaced old food with new food, and had to take the bowl away! This isn’t some petite dog bowl. Those is a big darn bowl, and before I knew it, she ate over a quarter of it in about 20 minutes. She’s a Pom. She can’t do that! So now what? This dog gets homemade breakfast and dinner, and has normally always had some kibble out of she got the munchies. I can’t leave this stuff out, she’ll eat till she bursts!

I have 2 picky pit bulls with chicken allergies and a very high class mini dachshund who turns her nose up at most food. Since switching to Stella and Chewy's lamb blends, doesn't matter which one, both pits are less itchy and their coats are nice and shiny. All three of the dogs loves the super blends and will actually stay and eat a whole portion rather than taking a couple bites and walking away. The dachshund especially loves the freeze dried meat pieces and attempts to hoard them in her treasure pile under the bed for safe keeping. It was definitely a good idea to switch.
