My senior shepherd had lost 10 lbs for no reason. Vet check all tests were good. A breeder friend said this is all she feeds her shepherds from pup to senior. So I gave it a try. Ry put on 13 lbs and was acting youthful. I think, as a senior, her body just wasnt absorbing enough nutrients from her old food which she had done good on for years (taste of the wild salmon, purina onr lamb and royal canine). Its well worth the money to have her on solid gold wolf king gut health.

I have an 8 year old Newf/Great Pyr who has NEVER eaten dry kibble without some type of mix in. Same with my 9 year old toy Pom. Both of my dogs like to forage for little "niblets" left by rabbits and squirrels and needless to say, they often have bouts of diarrhea. I spent a fortune for a couple years making their food and they had no stomach issues when I did this. However, I just couldn't maintain the cost and therefore tried other options throughout their lives. I've always purchased high quality food for the dogs. I've tried those with and without grain. I don't feel grains hurt my dogs because when I made their food, I used rice and pastas as the base. No allergies. As a result of the see saw of continuous vet bills for medications to help with diarrhea, I've constantly done research on the various dog foods. The dog food advisory helps somewhat but many of the foods they suggest, my dogs refused to eat. They had been eating Go! senior formula for a long time but again, the cost was difficult to maintain and they still had bouts with intestinal issues. After my large dog (she's 125 lbs) had been suffering from diarrhea and loose stools for over a week and homemade food was just a temporary fix, I decided to give this and a prebiotic/ probiotic supplement a try. She has been on this food now (after allowing her gut to clean itself out for a week) for four days as well as the supplement and she is doing great! This is the only food she has ever been given (and she has tried over the past 8 years at least 10 different, high quality brands) that she eats readily without anything added to it. It must taste good to her because her mouth is foaming with drool after eating! This never was a response to any other food, including the homemade. My little Pom (7 lbs) likes her gravy base so she gets a spoon of canned with this and she eats it all! She too has always pushed the dry kibble to the side, only wanting to eat the canned. I know this food contains pre/pro biotics to help with stomach issues and I am giving my large dog 1 a day instead of 3 and the little one 1/4 a day instead of 1. I've never had any food or supplement clear up my dog's gut so quickly. They did experience some mild gas the first day but no other issues. That has cleared up too. I'm excited to see how their health will improve as well as if their skin and fur have positive effects. I use Zesty Paws probiotic in case you are wondering. It's so hard to see your furry pals constantly sick and needing medications that do a poor job of stopping intestinal distress. I'm hoping that with this food and the supplement, my senior dogs will be healthier. I'll come back and tweak my review if anything changes.
