does this have baking soda?

This small animal bedding is made with 100% Virgin Fiber with no additives, dyes, irritants or baking soda. It is 100% Cellulose fiber and 100% compostable.

is this scent-free? i don’t see this clearly stated anywhere

This small animal bedding does not have added scent blockers (or any unnatural ingredients). They focus on making sure the bedding absorbs better. This bedding is made from 100% virgin fiber and has no additives, dyes or irritants.

Finally something actually low-dust!

One of my 5 guinea pigs, Winnie, had an upper respiratory infection last year. She barely made it, so I’m super careful. She’s always been so sensitive to dust that I’ve had to keep her on fleece bedding but given I have no where other than a laundromat or friend’s house to wash her stuff, it has been hard to keep her bedding switched out often enough. I’ve tried carefresh. I’ve tried kaytee clean and cozy. I was hesitant to try this kind but wow. I intentionally fluffed it and shoved my face inches away, inhaling, to see if it would make me sneeze and nope! Nothing. Now ALL my kiddos are on the sps bedding. My little girl is doing great with it- not one sneeze! It looks nice, it’s soft, comfy, easier to fluff than the other brands, and seems to last longer! Mites.

This bedding worked for my rats, but unfortunately the bag I got was crawling with mites. Now they are everywhere. I use 2 different substrates for my rats. One was this one and the other is paper. I store them in separate areas in clear buns. The paper one is fine. No mites. They were all over the inside and outside of the bag and sealed bin in which they were stores. I couldn't get it out of the house fast enough, so didn't take pics. I didn't ask for a refund. I just wanted to make people aware. If you use this bedding and get mites, check your bedding.

Beware of Rubber Pieces in Bedding

Please be very careful with this bedding. I found multiple rubber pieces in the last bag I opened. It was chopped up in the paper bedding.

Comparable to Kaytee, a little dusty

Box arrived with some bird seed and a couple pieces of dog kibble in the bottom, which I thought was odd, but otherwise have had no issues with the actual product

Box arrived with some bird seed and a couple pieces of dog kibble in the bottom, which I thought was odd, but otherwise have had no issues with the actual product. I change my guinea pigs' cage about once a week and have a pretty large cage so this works for what I need it to. have minimal issues with smell. A smidge dusty in my opinion, but many paper and wood beddings have the same issue.

A regular buy

Me and my husband usually get this bedding. the downside is that sometimes there are pieces of Plastic in the bedding and we have to pick them out. It is not just

Me and my husband usually get this bedding. the downside is that sometimes there are pieces of Plastic in the bedding and we have to pick them out. It is not just in one bag. It can be in any bag. buyers be warned of these plastic pieces. I don't mind picking them out, but others will mind.

Dusty, wouldn’t recommend for hamster

I was really disappointed. I loved small pet select when we had guinea pigs; I got their hay all the time. This paper was SO incredibly dusty, that I have to shake

I was really disappointed. I loved small pet select when we had guinea pigs; I got their hay all the time. This paper was SO incredibly dusty, that I have to shake it out outside for ages. I am filling a 60 gallon tank for a new hamster habitat, and that’s incredibly time consuming. But there’s no way I could have used it as it came.

NOT 99% Dust Free or anywhere near it.

I am so disappointed in this product (I purchased 2 jumbo bags AND had it on my autoship list) and now see it is SO dusty that I was coughing just trying to break

I am so disappointed in this product (I purchased 2 jumbo bags AND had it on my autoship list) and now see it is SO dusty that I was coughing just trying to break apart one piece of it to put in my quail cage. The dust is everywhere. I broke up one handful of it 10" away from a white piece of paper to show you, but the image won't upload. I'm telling you though it's covered in dust and that is only what drifted 10" away, the rest is in the air and on every surface near my quail cages. I cannot use this around living creatures with all this dust, not to mention around myself as I am coughing and sneezing now and I didn't even use more than a 6" x 11" piece. Don't use this around animals or people with sensitive respiratory systems. Don't use it indoors either unless you like dust on every surface. I will be removing this from my autoship and I guess I will toss these in my compost pile as it's unusable. I am also itching everywhere it landed on my body. Ugh!

Our female piggy is a pig

We've mostly had male guinea pigs but since adopting a female piggy, We've noticed she makes much more of a mess in the cage. She burrows, and she pees and poops

We've mostly had male guinea pigs but since adopting a female piggy, We've noticed she makes much more of a mess in the cage. She burrows, and she pees and poops way more. This size of bedding is convenient because we change the bedding more frequently. It's not only gentle on her feet but it's an affordable option. The only downside is storing such a large item. It's worth it!

Great bargain and good quality

My pigs can only use paper, so I'm always looking for bulk bedding at a good price. I'm really happy with how this has worked so far! It doesn't take much to fill

My pigs can only use paper, so I'm always looking for bulk bedding at a good price. I'm really happy with how this has worked so far! It doesn't take much to fill my 2x4 grid cage and my boys can snuggle in it without having any dust problems. It also keeps odors low, which paper bedding usually isn't great at! This will be my new go-to bedding.

It's one of the best values I've found for good-to-great natural paper bedding. (Of course, it does come in a bigger bag then most, so it's not as easy to store.)

It's one of the best values I've found for good-to-great natural paper bedding. (Of course, it does come in a bigger bag then most, so it's not as easy to store.) the dust seems very low. I wish the pieces were a little bigger, just for mess sake. Seems to control smell just about as well as more expensive bedding. It's soft, but not too soft, and no sharp or jagged pieces.
