Do you carry pet select hay 2nd cut

Answer by MichelleJun 29, 2022
No they don’t. I have asked them numerous times to carry it as it’s the healthiest option for rabbits.

this hay used to be really good and my rabbits love the orchard grass but the last few orders it’s been mostly brown pieces and my rabbits will pick those out and won’t eat them. that sucks because i’m going through it faster since they’re only eating half of what i give them and wasting the other half. hoping it improves soon or i’ll have to switch to something else

I’ve used SPS before. I have ordered it from you for quite some time. All the other 20lb boxes were as expexted BUT the his box was HORRIBLE! I know SPS gets their hay from different parts of the country. I will have to buy a new box somewhere. The top of the box looked great. Nice green color UNTIL I put my hands in grabbing hay for their hay bucket. I yelled loud bc I was stuck by something. I called my husband in and his face said it all. I am sending a picture of my hay bucket so you can see it and of the hard hard pieces. Is there a way to ck the origin of the last box? The don’t want the same one. I do want orchard hay just not where that was cultivated.

I have been ordering orchard grass and Timothy Hay for my Guinea Pig and thought what a great company. Well the more I ordered the worse it got. Both kinds have lots of brown and the Timothy has nothing but green and brown stems 2 ft. Long. Orchard grass is brown and has no flowers, pics enclosed!

Brown hay instead of green

I’m sure not Chewy’s fault but this Pet Select hay is 1/2 really brown. I have pick through it & throw a lot of it away before giving it to my rabbit. It’s too much

I’m sure not Chewy’s fault but this Pet Select hay is 1/2 really brown. I have pick through it & throw a lot of it away before giving it to my rabbit. It’s too much work because it’s mixed. Pet Select should be ashamed of their quality! It was a good price through Chewy but not if I have to throw 1/2 of the hay out! I think I’ll stick to buying the Kaytee brand in the big box at Farm & Fleet. Way better quality! I don’t want to make my rabbit sick. I didn’t notice all the brown hay because I didn’t open it right away. I still had previous hay left. My mistake

Crumbs in 20 Lbs boxes, but too expensive to order 2 10lb boxes

The hay is generally clean and fresh, with long strands. However, in the past year, I've noticed a lot of hay crush when ordering the 20lb boxes. The top layer is beautiful, but then 40-60% of the rest of the box is all crumbs and strands shorter than 3". If the price of 2 10lb-boxes was comparable to the 20lb-box, I would order them because I don't see the same crumbly issue with the smaller boxes.

My recent two orders were full of dust , very short length hays and dry brown ones which guinea pigs can’t eat. More than one third from the box. Hopefully the company

Best hay available!

When Oxbow hay started having super low quality, I searched for a reasonably priced brand with good reviews. Small Pet Select has definitely been better than Oxbow

When Oxbow hay started having super low quality, I searched for a reasonably priced brand with good reviews. Small Pet Select has definitely been better than Oxbow. My rabbits won’t eat the small bits of hay, and the Oxbow hay was that completely. My bunnies love it so much that I will fill up their hay bags at night and they will be empty in the morning.

Too expensive for the poor quality

I tried this brand after the 50lb box of Oxbow went out of stock thinking it would be better quality since it costs more.... but no, it wasn't worth the extra cost

I tried this brand after the 50lb box of Oxbow went out of stock thinking it would be better quality since it costs more.... but no, it wasn't worth the extra cost. It was still really dusty and it had more small twigs than my last Oxbow purchase. There was also a lot of feathers scattered in throughout the whole box. I'll just go back to using Oxbow even though I'm still not happy about paying more for a smaller box than I was before.
