This is a huge box of 40 lb hay, and it's gorgeous! My buns really liked it too. The pieces of hay are long and very fresh. I feed this to my house bunnies, but
This is a huge box of 40 lb hay, and it's gorgeous! My buns really liked it too. The pieces of hay are long and very fresh. I feed this to my house bunnies, but it could also be used for chinchillas or guinea pigs etc. The 40 lb box is the cheapest way to purchase it and it will last a long time for us and we feed unlimited In different boxes and their litter boxes. As soon as I put it down my buns ran towards it and started eating it. I chose 1st cut because it has a lot of fiber, and one of my buns is prone to digestive issues. It's good for their teeth as well and it's a little stiffer than the other cuts. This hay was perfect, the pieces were big and not dusty at all. The shipping was really quick and it's made in the USA! It's 100%Timothy without anything else added.
Quality has declined significantly.

We house 10 rescue rabbits and oat hay has always been supplied for extra fiber. Small Pet Select oat hay has typically been very consistent. The hay is typically green and all 10 rabbits have enjoyed it. We roughly purchase 2 boxes per month (around $100). The last shipment both boxes contained very yellow hay with very few green pieces. We fed the hay anyways and our rabbits were very quick to refuse it. All 10. Chewy was very generous and replaced both boxes. Unfortunate both replacement boxes were the same. Small Pet Select was contacted and based on our photos they stated that our hay aligns with the quality they are shipping out. Needless to say we are no longer comfortable serving this hay especially if the company believes this is quality and premium priced hay. It’s very unfortunate as it is difficult to find bulk oat hay, but cannot justify the cost and declining quality for our animals.

Small Pet Select Timothy Hay First Cut is excellent—my rabbits really loved it! The box is very big, making it perfect for multiple rabbits, and the hay itself feels high-quality. The texture is great, and unlike some hays that have no smell, this one has a fresh Timothy hay scent right out of the box. My rabbits thoroughly enjoyed it, and I placed it all over their feeders and activity boxes in the house. They dove right in and were happily munching away. Fresh, fragrant, and plentiful—this hay is a winner for bunnies. 🐰 ❤️ 🐰 ❤️ 🐰 ❤️ 🐰

My first box of hay was great, my rabbit ate alot more of it over the other brands. But the next order of a 20lb box and I found bright blue bailing twine mixed in right on top. I understand that bailing twine is used to keep it together in transport but when I'm paying $50 a box for "hand selected " "hand packed" hay and find bright blue twine shreds right on top I was pretty frustrated. Looking for a diffrent brand after that.

Purchased this based on recommendation. Our 1st 10lb box was loved by our guinea pigs even though there were a lot of pieces they would not eat. We just got our second order a week or so ago which I went with the 20lb box. Well last night about an inch or two deep into the box my 10 year old daughter found a dead flattened mouse in a clump of hay. I totally get this is grown out in a field and nature happens however there should be a better quality control process done so a 10 year old girl does not need to see this right before bed. I am glad she was smart enough to know something was not right and did not just throw it in the piggies cage. The actual hay is fresh and green.

My mid to older age bun had a quick, huge turn around in her digestion system, which was causing her to become very ill. After reading a lot online and calling a vet, I was told that Timothy hay was necessary for her diet. I’ve fed her Tropical Carnival for 10 yrs, however, I lived in the country and she roamed the fenced in grass yard. In Feb I moved to the city...less exercise, no grass. I ordered the hay from Chewy and they had it to me the next day!!! I didn’t even ask! Jackie is doing soooooo much better!!!! She gets a little Trop Carn as treat if she’s good;)
10/10 will buy again

We unfortunately never did our research before we got our bun and for years we’ve been feeding her hay from kaytee and oxbow the last few years shes been having alot of trouble with poopy butt and its gotten to the point we have to clean her butt almost daily we did our research this time and found out its her hay we just switched and the difference in the hay quality is out of this world theres so many long bits and its a nice healthy green she couldn’t even wait for me to get some out for her before she was helping her self and munching away shes happy and so are we! Fingures crossed this will be the end of her poopy butt problems.

I do want to say that Small Pet Selects products are amazing products. However the hay is shipped in a box with no protective inside or outside from the elements
I do want to say that Small Pet Selects products are amazing products. However the hay is shipped in a box with no protective inside or outside from the elements. The hay was left on the door step in the rain a lot of the Hay inside the box got wet. We really need a packaging alternative. Even though there are instructions on where to place the packages they are not often read and executed accordingly.

This is a 10 STARS product. We have 5 guinea pigs and 2 home built habitats. This hay was FRESH! The box was heavily packed, and the guinea pigs LOVE it. The unexpected benefit was how easy it was to work with. By the time I had emptied the box out I knew I had to send a great review. It was so easy to cut handfuls out with heavy shears, (not included). I have a second full box but my Aussie, who loves the piggies, tried to open it for me. It's messy but still useable.

We always buy small pet select cause we felt that I was the best but this box of Timothy hay was not at all what we expected. I’ve never gotten a box of hay that had all brown very dry and full of dust hay. I don’t feel like I should feed my bunnies this hay as I think it might be very old and possibly moldy hay. Please help remedy this.
