May cause seizures!!! Beware!!
I used Simparica for years for all of my dogs. However I suspect (and have read reports) that it contains ingredients that can cause seizures in dogs. Unfortunately
I used Simparica for years for all of my dogs. However I suspect (and have read reports) that it contains ingredients that can cause seizures in dogs. Unfortunately I was unaware of this in time to prevent my dogs from being exposed to it. Both of my dogs developed epilepsy. They are two different breeds and were otherwise healthy until they were given Simparica for an extended period (over two years). Both my vet and my neurologist confirmed that this is a growing issue with this product. Unfortunately once a beloved pet develops epilepsy it is not reversible. One of our dogs died in our arms during a seizure. The other must have her medicine every 6 hours or she will start seizures. We have switched to a natural flea prevention (available through CHEWY) which has been very effective and was recommended by our neurologist.

I recently moved from Alaska to Texas with 5 dogs. Along with all of the changes in climate, we had to deal with FLEAS! My dogs, who never leave my backyard, and are not around other dogs, got fleas! Not like an infestation, but a few on each dog. I tried bathing them; I tried spays; I tried having the yard treated. I felt like I had tried everything but oral flea medication. I was so reluctant to try oral flea meds because I've heard so many horror stories about reactions. But I couldn't get even a few fleas under control and my dogs were miserable. One of my boys was even scratching himself raw. So I asked my vet to approve my order of Simparica from Chewy. I held my breath and gave the medication to three of my dogs. By the next day, only one of those three dogs had 1 visible flea, the others were flea free! So, I gave the medication to my other dogs as well. Within 2 days, they were ALL flea-free and we had zero reaction to the medication in any of the dogs! We are now a couple of weeks out from their first dose, and still no fleas. The dogs are so much happier and so am I.

Working at a vet, you learn a lot about the different products out there for your pet. Some are money well spent, and others not so much. Well this one happens to be affordable and worth it! Obviously every pet is different and everyone gets different results, but I personally use this for my pups, and have been very pleased with it. One reason I love it is because it’s way more convenient than the liquid applications. These come in tablets that your dog takes by mouth, and it helps get rid of existing fleas, and works as a great preventative. Another bonus is that my dogs enjoy this like a treat. This is a prescription item, so you will need vet approval before your order officially goes through, but it’s quite simple. You just place your order, Chewy will reach out to your vet, and once they get the ok from them, they’ll ship your item. I received my item 2 days after my order was placed, and it was a wonderful experience overall. I love Chewy pharmacy, and I’ll be ordering again through them. I love Chewy as is, but when they started their pharmacy, I was ecstatic!

Didn't receive the right medication
I was sent the wrong heartworm and flea preventative I called and asked for a return or if they could send me a new one because it was not filled right and was told

Excellent Product/Ridiculous Price Increase
I love this product but am totally confused by the recent increase in price from $68 to $91 for package of six. Also I just received an email from the Chewy Pharmacy

Sounds great except the 15% price reduction offer expires 3/7/2020. Is this a joke?
Great Product so far
I switched to Simparica from Nexgard per my vet's recommendation in Decemeber 2018. I stopped giving it in January and just started again last week.I chose this
I switched to Simparica from Nexgard per my vet's recommendation in Decemeber 2018. I stopped giving it in January and just started again last week.I chose this over Nexgard this year because the weight ranges are smaller than Nexgards, and fit my dog better.My dog has only had this 3 times, but I haven't found any ticks on him nor has he had any reactions to it. I usually get it from my vet so this was my first time ordering medication from Chewy. Chewy needed to get the prescription from my vet, which they were able to get the same day I ordered, and still ship it out that same day, which impressed me. I will keep using Chewy because it's easier than going to the vet.

Both of our long hair dachshunds use the Simparica. One uses the Simparica Trio because he’s allergic to the heart worm preventing shot the other takes regular Simparica
