Sileo is the first FDA-approved treatment for dogs that suffer from a serious condition called noise aversion. Prescribed by your Veterinarian, Sileo helps calm your dog when frightened by loud noises without making them drowsy. Sileo is ideal for events like fireworks, thunder, or construction noise, and everyday noises like vacuums and lawn equipment. It is designed to be used at home—where you and your dog need it most.

Sileo is given orally in an easy-to-administer gel and goes to work fast. It begins to take effect in as little as 30 minutes and can last for 2–3 hours, offering a timely and reliable way to ease your dog’s response to noise. There is no need for daily medication. It is clinically demonstrated to work without other treatments or training.[1]

Stop the Noise Monsters

Noise aversion affects roughly two out of three dogs. Sileo helps calm your dog when frightened by loud noises without making them drowsy. It's ideal for events like fireworks, thunder, or construction noise, and is designed to be used at home—where you and your dog need it most.

This was my third 4th of July since adopting my boy Jackson. The first year we went to the emergency room to do x-rays for the diarrhea from the stress caused. The second year a new symptom appeared where he shivered and drooled almost like a seizure. He then would associate the outside with fireworks and would refuse to pee or poo when I brought him out. This caused him to make an accident in the house for the first time in his life!! Both years he was prescribed Trazodone and Gabapentin to help, but they didn’t help in the least. Well this year, you better believe I was prepared!!! I ordered 2 white noise machines and a new floor fan. I saw an ad for this medicine so I called my vet. She had never heard of it, but knew the base ingredient very well as they use it for pre-surgeries. She did some research and called me back to let me know Jackson would be a perfect fit and if it worked for him she would recommend to others with severe noise aversion. We made it through the 3rd okay, but by 9pm on the 4th we had a full blown panic attack. So I quickly gave him one dose (for him that was 4 dots). At first I thought I must’ve missed his gums or something because he was still panicking 25 min after applying the gel. Well around 35 min in, I noticed less panting and he decided to get up to grab his favorite bone. He chomped on that for a while and slept. When a real major one would go off, he’d poke his head up, look at me for a bit, but never returned to full crisis mode. It kept him calm enough to get him to pee on my final plea to him outside at 1:30am (people in the neighborhood were still shooting those dang things off) Anyways, I’m not surprised to see it’s currently sold out. I’m so happy I ordered these when I did, and I plan on keeping one or two always on standby in case of a storm or random firework event!! I really wish I knew about it 2 summers ago!! Talk to your vet if your fur baby has severe symptoms to noise like my Jackson boy <3

Our dog has been scared senseless of fireworks, gunshots, and thunder for 10 years. Her behavior includes incessant, running and panting. I found Sileo on Chewy and decided to give it a try. I told my Vet to be ready to provide a prescription when Chewy calls. Within 30 minutes of the first dose my dog was willing to lie on the couch under a blanket next to me instead of running in panic. In subsequent days as the thunderstorms continued, the medicine seemed to work more quickly. It will wear off after a while, but additional doses may be administered. I have also noticed that since she has been using this medicine, she has not been as initially terrified if unexpected thunder happens.

My elder dog Zoey has recently developed vestibular eye disease, which can present as a seizure-like episode. As you can imagine, this is scary for her and me. I can feel powerless to help. Trazadone takes 3-4 hours to mildly sedate her, but the Sileo gel (which is so much easier than trying to get a pill down her throat) can provide relief within 30 minutes. Sileo is amazing. I just wish it was more affordable $5-7 per dose makes it something I only use in times of distress (also fireworks or extended travel) or emergency. For that reason, I think every pet owner should have some Sileo on-hand.

We have a rescue golden that is terrified of thunder or noise similar along with seeing lightning. She is fight or flight. Fight is destroying our floors, walls, furniture, doors, crates, anything that gets in her way. We have tried EVERYTHING. Examples, therapy, medication, bose type head set, thunder shirt, music therapy and many other things. It either did not work, or worked once then she is too smart and on to it. So, with Sileo I can wait to give it to her. It works in 5 mins. She will lay down, still trembling but not destroying. I am next to her or else she will fight it. She gets her 4 dots in cheek for her weight and anxiety. Happily, I can be near her and rest, if needed. I have had to miss work or cancel plans due to this. There is no where she can be put safely that she won't break out of and injure herself. This is the only thing that helps her calm down. If it goes down the throat by accident it will not work. Must be massaged into cheek area, learned quickly about this. Good luck, it is definitely work it a try.

My German Shepherd gets terrified of fireworks, loud noises, thunder... terrified! So terrified she won't eat. She paces and shakes. As a parent, that simply won't do. I've tried various oral prescriptions, but unless I give it to her several hours before an event they are useless. Unfortunately 4th of July Fireworks and New Years Fireworks don't go off during the legal times. They go off days before, in the morning, mid day... so giving her pills wont work. Even if they are wrapped in meat, dunked in peanut butter, and dripping with cheese. She won't eat. This gel is a lifesaver. So easy to administer. Easy to adjust the syringe and easy to get in her cheek area. Only thing is I wish it worked better... but nothing works great... or good, for her. It calms her down from a 100 to maybe a 50 or 60. Less pacing, and less shaking. It does expire quickly once opened, another down side. But worth it!

All 5 of my dogs are rescue so they came with baggage when I adopted them (foster failure). 3 of the 5 are EXTREMELY noise sensitive. One syringe will give my 3 - 2 doses each if needed. The worst of the three starts screaming when she hears thunder from a distance. She has occasional seizures and our fear was the noise would throw her into a seizure. My Dr prescribed this medication. It was a miracle!!!! Within 15 minutes my girls were chilled. I will say the dosage for my little one was to much, so next time I cut in half. You can always give the other half if it isnt enough. I guess the only negative would be it has to be disposed of in 2 weeks. So if you have a little one and only occasionally need this it is expensive. But I would pay any price to have my dogs calm when the storms come around. Did great for fireworks too !!!!!

So very thankful my vet prescribed this. July 4th has always been such an anxious time for my husky and in turn for me. Sileo really helped my boy this year. Our town has a fireworks display at 10pm each year. I gave him a dose at 8:45pm and by 10pm the medication was working. Our house has the perfect view of the town display but that also means that we get the full effect of it...booms and all. Sileo helped Kimon to weather the noise without such heightened fear and trying to hurt himself (and me). This year with Sileo, my boy laid on the floor in the living room and just lifted his head when there was an especially loud boom. I love how Sileo doesn't drug him. He seemed so relaxed but not out of it. I wish it lasted longer than 2-3 hours but I am very happy with the results this year. Sileo saved us! Highly recommend!

Through no fault of Chewy, our order went missing when FedEx delivered it to the wrong address and left it out on the road under a mailbox that wasn’t even ours. Unfortunately, the package disappeared. Chewy’s customer service stepped right in and had a replacement order on the way immediately. I received the new shipment in just 2 days! Their quick response and care made a frustrating situation so much easier. Thank you, Chewy, for standing behind your service and taking care of us.

I really wanted this to work for my adult dog's sudden onset storm anxiety/noise aversion. Unfortunately, it barely took the edge off. I may have kept at it to see if result improved if it wasn't a pain to administer. It must taste really really bad. Applying it to the mouth wasn't difficult the first time but boy did my dog remember just how bad it tasted and subsequent doses were difficult. We had previously tried trials of several different CBD products, Composure Pro, other herbal supplements (passionflower/valerian/chamomile, etc.) , and Trazodone. Trazodone specifically, caused anxiety and agitation for 2 hours prior to him being really dopey and hungover for 12+ hours, although I know this reaction is atypical. My boy has paradoxical reactions to several medications. I was pleased the Sileo did not make him groggy or heavily sedated. It just didn't do quite enough for him. The dosing for 70 pounds was getting quite expensive during storm and fireworks season. He has since had good result with Alprazolam.

This stuff is a miracle. Be careful about dosing: my vet recommended half of what's recommended in the box and it works like a dream with no fear of overdosing. I give it about 30-45 mins before expected thunder or that long before sunset around July 4 and my poor, Sweet greyhound who we used to hear shaking in the bathtub, panting, and drooling with inconsolable fear is in pretty good shape. Nothing else worked and I'm so relieved to be able to have this for her. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
