My cat eats both dry and wet food, and these are the perfect size because he was wasting larger cans of cat food by not eating at all at once, and he does’t care for leftovers. Before we started buying the smaller, single serving sizes, we had given up, feeding him, can cat food at all, and he had been bringing in shrews, mice, rats, and even several rabbits and eating them on the bedroom floor. I appreciate that he can kill mice and rats however, I did not appreciate the dead animals on my floor. As long as we feed him can cat food whenever he asked, he stops bringing in dead animals. Oh, and he stops bringing in live ones to let them go in the house.

I decided to try the $6.98 free pack of Sheba pate cat food (savory chicken and sustainable salmon). My cats really like it, so I am ordering some more. I was having a hard time opening it, so my husband was peeling it back. Tonight I tried doing it with my food handler gloves, and it was easy!! They are useful for all kinds of things, as they give you better traction. Just wanted to pass this little trick onto the other ladies.

I understand these things happen so I wasn’t going to say anything, but I thought I better since I got the email asking me. I actually ordered another box of it and hopefully it will be better. But Abby loves them! She knows right where I keep them and she knows when it’s time to pop one open! We recently lost her sister, Annie and we have been really spoiling Abby extra and I want to thank Chewy for the beautiful flowers that were sent to the house. We just are at such a loss with losing baby Annie and Abby has always had Annie around, they were born from the same liter and I was so worried that she would grieve. I am happy to report that Abby is adjusting well and we just love all the outpouring of love and support from Chewy and everyone else! I’ll add a photo of Abby. Hard to believe she is already 5! Thank you Chewy for understanding the love that we furr parents all share!

I have introduced many brands of cat food to my cat. It seems Sheba is her favorite. The containers have very little in one container so some days she wants two containers for one of her meals. She is going to have to find a new brand. I have to separate the containers just right so the side doesn’t cut the slightest. The last one I opened smelled so rotten, it took several hand washings to get the smell out. If the containers are not separated just right it makes me wonder how many have little rips on the sides lets bacteria in. That was the worst smell and it stayed in the air for quite sometime and that garbage back had to be taken out right after that. Giselle, my cat has tried almost all the cat food foods, I’ll have to find one that she hasn’t and willing to stick with for a while. She is going to be sad but at least I know she won’t get ill from food poisoning.

I love the small portions. I love the fine texture of the pate for my cat. I don’t love the packaging other than the size. My complaints are that sometimes you accidentally rip one open when you are ripping the 2 halves apart. I also don’t like that the packaging is not super environmentally friendly. I do love that this is available just about any place. My cat seems to get bored of it though. We will likely be a lifetime customer with my constant attempts to get her to eat other brands and falling back on Shiba and fancy feast which she likes slightly less than Sheba.

It does have slightly less protein than nutro but the texture, smell and apparently flavor are similar and sheba is at a much better price point. Will definitely keep this in rotation. The only reason I deduct 1 star is the plastic packaging which is so wasteful. If it was in cans it would be 5 stars.
