Sentinel is the least expensive proven heart worm prevention by far and also controls fleas at the egg stage and whip worms. Merck is a wonderful company who will talk. to you about anything related to the usage of the meds and your concerns and will pay the vet bills if their product failed your animal. Kudos all around. I won't give my Harry anything else.

Now, I've spent a few years as a kennel tech in a Veterinary Hospital. I know what works. What to look out for. Risks. Sentinel has always been a relatively safe brand for all dogs! (Be sure to buy the right weight range!) And it protects very very well! The price is also incredibly affordable thanks to chewy. (If you have a dog who stays mostly outdoors and sentinel has not been doing enough for them, try looking into bravecto's line. It is a bit more expensive but effective.) Thank you Chewy for making my purchase so easy even with my mishaps!

As a vet tech for decades, I can say this is my choice in parasite prevention for my dog. For those saying their dog still got fleas, This product does not kill
As a vet tech for decades, I can say this is my choice in parasite prevention for my dog. For those saying their dog still got fleas, This product does not kill or prevent fleas from getting on the dog. The medication in it simply prevents fleas from reproducing. So if you have fleas in the dog’s environment, you need to treat it with a secondary adulticide, as well as treat the environment. If there are no fleas in your dog’s home environment, but happens to pick one up while out on a walk or something, this product will help that or those fleas not turn into thousands. Environment control is a must. What fleas you see on your dog are only 10% of what in the actual environment.

I have on my calendar scheduled to remind me to order my dog medicine. Before I knew it I received a notice to order and received the order. I don't remember putting it on auto. I always get the 6 months supply and I have to get script from the vet when I take her for her 6 months check up. She has to have to be in daycare. I know, but I have to go to work and leaving her home with no activity make her very active when I get home/walking. But having chewy to contact her vet and fill the script is one thing off my mind and the delivery is fast. Thanks Chewy.

This is a great product and I wanted to respond to the review that reflected a poor score indicating it does not work for fleas. I am sorry that person must have been lead astray and advised incorrectly to use this product for an active case of fleas. This product should not be used to kill fleas like a Nexguard or Simparica product does. You will notice on the box it says ALSO used to control flea population. The main purpose of Sentinel is heartworm prevention. It will not kill adult fleas; it prevents them from having babies and repopulating, so if you have fleas already you should not use this product to get rid of them. And, I hope a vet did not advise you to. You should use ones like those I previously listed or you may need a capstar which kills all the fleas that are currently on your dog. Good luck but going back to Sentinel it is so great because it is small enough to place in a treat, unlike other alternative heartworm prevention. And, some of my dogs are even able to take it easily without a treat. Most importantly, it works with heartworm prevention!

I gave this on the first of the month and it is the 13th of the month and I killed 6 live fleas on my dog. She is sensitive to fleas and chews aggressively when

She is sensitive to fleas and chews aggressively when she gets them so we are diligent with the flea meds. However we wanted to try a cheaper alternative to our normal bravecto. No dice doesn’t even last the month. Very disappointed.
