Can I feed this to my rooster? He’s been eating Harrison’s Organic bird food

Answer by ChewyMar 13, 2019
This product is suitable for roosters and drakes (male ducks). If in a mixed flock, offer oyster shell to the males for added calcium.

does this feed have grit in it to aid in digestion or do I need to buy some with it

Answer by ChewyApr 24, 2019
This feed does not contain grit. For a complete list of ingredients, click the “Nutritional Info” tab, next to the “Description” tab, just under the product photos.

I feed this to my layers and rooster with oyster shell on the side for the girls. Everyone loves it! I got my rooster from another farm a few months ago and he was skinny with sad, scruffy floppy feathers but after 6 months of eating this feed and having his own harem of ladies he buffed out and fluffed out and looks amazing and is the happiest, sweetest dude. When I refill the feeder, I get swarmed while one of the girls tries to hop into the feeder to eat the fresh food off the top. It's definitely a crowd pleaser over here.

Inconsistent for a big price

Bought once before and it was very nice. Second bag order is all whole grains. It’s a grower, for young birds and they will barely touch it as the grains are too

Great Stuff!

My 12 week old chicks absolutely love this feed. They’ll eat it as is (dry), moistened or fermented. This is really good stuff, yes it’s pricey but worth it for

I have been buying this brand for my hens for a while and mix it with other things. However, I wanted to supplement their feed with grower food, so I bought this. Imagine my surprise when it arrives and it was the EXACT same product I've been buying. It's for all stages and mixed flocks. I see that now that I look closely at the picture... but I was going by the title Chewy put and the brand that I was already familiar with. Not the end of the world - I'll use it up. However, if you have little chicks or ducklings, I would not rely on this as the sole source of feed.

Pullets love it

This feed smells great. My growing chicks go nuts over it. I feed it like a treat for now and they all come running.

Our chickens and ducks are in love with this food, they hear me getting it and they get so excited! They weren't like that while on the starter crumbles (another brand). I love the ingredients as well! I add some herbs to it for our girls, but we don't even have to do that and they get excited without them in it! Great product and great price for what you get!

I've been using for almost a year now and chickens yum it up

First, I'm really picky with what I feed the chickens since my family eats the eggs, I wanted a soy free feed that most closely resembled what chickens would eat naturally and my chickens never liked pellets of any kind. We have 25 hens ( 8 different varieties) and 1 rooster and I feed a 40 pound bag every week, plus some greens and meal worms and treats and scrap foods. I've never had bugs in a bag nor food go bad and of all the ones we have tried I finally have settled on this kind though its expensive......

This is the best organic feed on the market. I have gone through several Brands and keep coming back to this one. Although expensive, if you ferment the feed it will last a whole lot longer. You can also mix the fine parts with yogurt or cooked oatmeal so there is little waste.
