The size of the box that came threw me off at first, it was very large for what I ordered, and way heavier than expected. The answer came quickly- the amount of dry ice that was used to make sure these mice didn't thaw was huge. and it was wrapped in paper to protect your skin from any accidental contact. The outside temperature was around 80F and the package sat outside maybe 10 minutes. zero thawing. There was so much taped down insulation that the box stayed very cold at the center. I am going to try and repurpose the insulation in some outside houses for abandoned animals. If you order this product it would be wonderful if you could donate the insulation to a rescue or shelter that also helps in outdoor animals rather than throw it in a landfill.
