We recently switched to Revolution because we moved to an area with ticks and fleas. This was the recommendation of our breeder and our vet was okay to approve it. Our vet was hesitant because he felt oral pills would be a better prevention, but our concern was safety first after reading reviews about seizures. I know some say it doesn’t work for all ticks, but I’m happy to say, it’s working great for us. The ticks I have found are dead. Only on our first month so hoping it keeps working so well! It works!

I had strayed a bit on my present dog and went cheaper and found my boy had fleas and 'scratchies' ALL the time because of me trying to save a buck or 2!? As much as I/We walk in the forest and come upon streams and what not...I need something that's going to meet all my boy's needs while being out in it! Thanks Again, Chewy!

I began using Revolution many years ago, after the leading flea medicine (either a Frontline or Advantage product, but I forget which) stopped working for us. It was hard to find, but at the time it only cost a little more than either of our flea or heartworm medicines. I believe it was also the first topical for heartworm and the first combo for heartworm and fleas. So our dogs were suddenly covered in fleas, almost over night, since the Fibronil product had suddenly quit working. I had to buy some Capstar tablets to get rid of their adult fleas, but the Revolution got rid of the rest and has worked great ever since. Also, I was having trouble getting one of my dogs to eat the Heartgard tablets, so a topical replacement was welcomed. I once had a dog catch heartworms, despite giving her Heartgard, but this has never happened in the 10 or so years that I've used Revolution. The only bad thing about Revolution is that it can be hard to find in my area, even though I've never had a vet give me a good reason for not carrying it, so that's why I buy it on Chewy. Unfortunately, that's why I'm here now and Chewy is out of stock. Maybe I can talk the mosquitoes into taking a reprieve with biting my dogs? C'MON CHEWY!!! The price has also doubled since I began using it, even though it doesn't protect against snakes, coyotes or anything new, so I don't know how they justify that? I guess it doesn't matter if you can't find it to buy, so oh well.

I tried a lot of flee and tick medications . All natural non medicated did not work at all and other prescribed meds did not work nearly as well. Plus I no longer have to buy heart worm medication as Revolution treats for heart worm too.
Effective, does not upset his gut, or cause MDR1 issues

Revolution passed both of our safety boxes - it’s not given orally, so his belly is kept safe, and it doesn’t trigger an MDR1 reaction (which has been an issue despite the M/N status). I was initially concerned about localized skin reactions as well, but he’s always been fine after application. This solution works as intended; he’s never had parasites since being on the Revolution. Well worth the extra cost!

So... I am a big researcher on all of the flea/tick/heart-worm medications and this product was strongly recommended at our previous vet. We have a golden retriever/great Pyrenees and want to get the best of the best for him. We went ahead and have been using this for months. We live in an area of Virginia that is highly surrounded with fleas and ticks. I felt confident that this would prevent him from getting bit. To our surprise, he has ended up being infested with fleas twice. It did not work AT ALL. We had to bomb our house and do everything we could to get rid of them. We thought maybe since our dog is so furry we weren’t getting down to his skin far enough so we shaved it the next month to make sure he got the full dose. Well to make a long story short - he is 8 months old now and has lymes disease. He has had ticks on him and this did absolutely no good in preventing them from biting. So after $700 in vet bills and my poor dog limping around on 3 legs with a super swollen foot, not eating any food - he is currently being treated with a prescription and anti inflammatory. Our vet did some investigating and saw that we were using this and said this is TERRIBLE at preventing ticks and it’s been proven to only fight off fleas (which it wasn’t successful in that either for us). I don’t know where all these positive reviews are from - but take my word for it and please use a different method to protect your dog so they don’t have to go through what my dog has to.

Our cost is slightly less, ordering is easier, (all requiring a vet prescription), and so is remembering to dose regularly and on time. Chewy has the best pricing and shipping to suit us.

One local vet said the heartworm preventative in this product does't work for heart worms. He insisted I get an annual blood test to check for them. Big surprise for him, it's always negative! I don't like paying $125 every 6 months either for the 40-85 pound 6 dose package, but I love the peace of mind we have, knowing our pet is covered for ticks, fleas, mites & more! When I first started this product, I only used revolution from April - Oct because our dog is a house pet and there are no fleas here in the winter, right? Wrong! I got scolded for this, however it still worked for 3 years. Since then, I use it every 4 to 6 weeks, and wouldn't want to switch at all, because our fur baby is 17 years young! I've read and heard that many of the flea meds are hard on older dogs, can cause severe reactions, etc, this one does not! My highest recommendation! AAA+++

After using Trifexis chewable for my chow-chow since she was a year old, I found that my chow was constantly vomiting, shedding excessive amounts of hair, having tremors while sleeping, and lethargic. After researching this product, I found that these conditions are symptoms caused by the use of Trifexis. I am so glad that I decided to discontinue the Trifexis, and try a topical solution that had less severe symptoms; so I decided to purchase "Revolution Topical Solution for Dogs", and I am soooo glad that I did. Although its only been about 3 weeks since the switch from Trifexis, my husband and I have noticed a major change in our chow, starting with the lack of vomiting, and lethargy. My chow who will be turning 2 years old in September, is very happy, and active...Thanks to REVOLUTION TOPICAL SOLUTION! and, its about a 3rd of the cost our veterinarian was charging for the Trifexis. Only issue was that my pets fur is currently so thick with a winter undercoat still that it was difficult to find skin on her neck. So, hopefully I got it into her system.
