Our dog has food allergies, so our Vet has her on a topical flea med instead of an oral one. She has been on Revolution and Frontline for years. Revolution is a prescription medication. I’m always happy how quickly it gets here. I’m the biggest Chewy fan! Our Vet office makes it very simple to use their Pharmacy. I have to now go get a paper prescription, put it in the mail and then Chewy gets it later. So with a new prescription it may take longer because of this process. They will not call outside pharmacies any more. I was determined not to leave Chewy no matter how tedious it had become to use someone different than their pharmacy. I don’t regret it one bit.

Know that it only works against the DOG TICK (not deer, Lone Star, etc. ticks)

I really liked this product for its ease of application. The vial for my 35-pound Border Collie mix is easy to use and only contains a tiny bit of the liquid medicine. The dose is MUCH less than Frontline Plus, for example. The Revolution never bothered my dog in any way. I also appreciate that it includes protection against heartworm, so I don’t have to spend even MORE money on that, too. What I didn’t realize for the first 6 months or so that I used Revolution is that it only targets a one type of tick: the American Dog Tick. We live in western Oregon, where dog ticks aren’t the main concern; DEER ticks are. The spread all the scary diseases we worry about out here. Fortunately, I realized this before the ticks transmitted anything to my dog. I spoke with my vet at length about my dog’s health and lifestyle, and have now switched over to Simparica Trio as the best “fit” for our circumstances, namely, deer ticks rather than dog ticks. I suggest speaking with your vet about your dog and the ticks in your area, but this switch made sense for us.

My Coco has seizures, so I was very afraid to use any flea and tick medication. Unfortunately, he got fleas, so I had to use something in the vet recommended this as gentle enough on his system. It’s extremely effective for ticks and fleas and has not given him any seizures. I wish I knew about this stuff sooner. Highly recommend particularly for dogs that get seizures.

Our senior pup had a horrible allergic reaction to fleas. We had moved to a new house and did not realize that the Frontline we had been using for ten years was basically useless. After our move, we developed a flea infestation that had all of us miserable. Revolution is pretty expensive so we tried other options first but ultimate this plus Selarid for the kitties was what solved the problem and put an end to our poor pup’s frantic scratching.

I love Revolution, for heart worm and flea control. No side effects, like I have seen with oral medications, which are too hard on my dog's digestive tract. However, Revolution is only moderately helpful with managing fleas, so my back up is to give him Capstar (an oral medication, with no noticeable side effects), as needed to kill the fleas. My dog does not do well with fleas, even a few, since he is allergic, so I do my best to prevent them showing up in the first place. My dog has been on Revolution all his life (he is 10 years old), and I'll stay with it, even with the high cost. Revolution gets a score of 4 out of 5 due to the cost and moderate effectiveness with flea control. Otherwise, it would score 5 out of 5.

I have american cocker spaniels and originally had them on nexgard and heartgard. I still found fleas and a tick on my dogs. Then my oldest one at the time started having seizures. The vet reviewed the ingredients for all of the different products available on the market and recommended Revolution as it would be safer and overall better for my girls. I've been using this product for over 13 years and have never had another issue since.

I switched to this medication for my dog after the vet recommended it for my cat. Positives: My dog can't vomit it up. I had issues with giving my dog chewable options for both heartworm and flea/tick, and she had a tendency to reject them, resulting in a lot of wasted money. This is a quick-drying formula that doesn't leave a greasy residue on the hair. If you do get a residue, you can bath your dog pretty soon after administering it. I like that this is a 2-in-1 for heartworm and fleas. I also really appreciate the weight range dosages for this product. My dog is right in the middle at 30 pounds, and a lot of treatments either have a range that is too low, causing me to have to upgrade to the next weight range at a higher price. Cons: I wish this treated ticks as well. My dog is vaccinated against Lymes disease and isn't much one for running through tick areas, but it would be a nice feature, especially for dogs with longer coats where it may be harder to see ticks.

Reviewing Order -A mixture of review and information

Well Oliver said he doesn't seem to mind it. The only thing I dislike is how it makes his hair so hard for a few days. That's not a very important negative. Since Oliver has suffered from Pancreatitis back at the end of December, we had to change things up so we wouldn't cause anything to trigger Pancreatitis as that's a very serious condition with our fur children. Blessed with s great medical team for him and having great doggie insurance. Off topic of review, but important for pet parents: Please consider purchasing pet insurance. Pet Partners is one of the Top insurance companies I world recommend and have. Having an extensive career as a P&C agent (not the medical side, but equally similar with university things), I ALWAYS recommend the LOWEST deductibles you can afford and add every rider offered. Pet Partners offers six different riders (basically a basic policy doesn't always cover from wet mouse to wagging tails). Oliver was 3 months old when I started the policy. The premium was $88.00. He's give years old now and we pay $155 per month. He has $100 deductible for each rider (option you can add on) and they pay 90% after that. This little guy for example has had allergies since he was less than a year old. His monthly medicine cost $125, so that basically pays for itself BUT they also cover a good portion of medicine such as this. Additionally, when he got sick with pancreatitis, that cost us $6000!!!!! We only had to pay 10% off that. He has dry eye in both eyes, just like humans get and will require medicine, check ups, etc on a regular basis. It's will worth it and you're not neglecting your for child due to not having the money or charging up your care credit or other credit card. I've submitted about 81 claims in the almost 5 years we've had his insurance and I can tell you we would have spent close to $20K without insurance. NO, I DO NOT SELL INSURANCE THROUGH THEM. I'M JUST TRYING TO HELP OTHERS OUT THERE, BECAUSE I WOULD APPRECIATE THE SAME INFORMATION. Have a blessed day. Example: Oliver had surgery next week for teeth scaling due to calcification, but the primary reason is he develops these cysts and one on his back became enlarged and very painful. Also, he has to have rear plucking every 3 months or so due to excessive hair growth. Thank you, Chewy for taking care of all our needs

So far, so good

I have been using this for 7 months on my 28 pound maltipoo without any flea problems. Before he was on Vectra 3D and I would still find occasional fast moving fleas. I just part his hair between the shoulder blades and apply in a one inch line until the tube is 3/4 empty. (I don’t use the entire dose since this is for up to 40 pounds). After 30 minutes I use a warm wet washcloth and mop up the chemical odor off his neck. I love to cuddle with him and hate the smell. The medication goes into the bloodstream so it’s alright to clean off the residue. I’ll be using the smaller dose for my 10 pound rescue puppy.
