One of the ingredients is Clematis and it is on the toxic list for dogs. How is this safe then?

Answer by ChewyApr 19, 2021
We use a process of homeopathic serial dilution. Plant properties at this dilution do not contain any alkaloids, which are the toxic component of plants. The specifics about the Clematis in our remedy is the genus of the Clematis species. We use Clematis vitalba which is exclusively grown and picked from the same plants on the BACH Centre property of Dr. Bach’s time. The genus Clematis aristolochia is known to cause toxicity of a moderate nature when ingested by animals. Again, we do not use this species. Our BACH Flower remedies are safe to use in pets and have been for decades. Rescue Remedy is also acceptable for oral use in humans. The difference between RESCUE Pet and human Rescue Remedy is the preservative used. Pet contains glycerin, while human version is a grape brandy alcohol dilution with purified water.

How long in advance should I give it to see if effects?

Answer by ChewyMay 04, 2020
It's recommended to administer 30 minutes before a stressful event, though cases of extreme stress may require additional time and dosage.

Does this help with car sickness as well as anxiety in riding in a car?

Answer by ChewyMar 26, 2020
Rescue can be used as often as required during the day and the dose remains the same no matter the size of your pet. A small cat or a large dog are given the same amount of 4 drops whenever administered. Frequency is determined solely by the needs of the animal. In times of situational stress caused by thunderstorms, car rides, being in crowds, or visiting the groomer, etc. you may give Rescue Pet as frequently as every half hour. In those cases, the anticipated circumstance will determine need - one dose may be enough. The glycerin preservative base is slightly sweet and animals usually enjoy the taste. It will not have a direct affect on the car sickness as it works on calming emotions, but may deter car sickness if it is caused by the emotional distress of being in a moving vehicle. Longer standing behaviors may require longer treatment or making Rescue Pet a part of daily routine. Rescue Remedy suggest administering Rescue Pet 4 drops, 4 times a day for the first few days. This can be given by allowing them to lick it off your fingertips, rubbing it onto their nose, between pads of paws or onto bare skin such as abdomen. Again, you may give your pet additional doses as needed, or stop use at anytime. Rescue Pet is non-addictive.

Does this help dogs with occasional epilepsy seizures

Answer by ChewyJan 13, 2018
The manufacturer has heard from several customers that experience that their dogs have either fewer seizures, none at all or shorter episodes. The dogs also seem to recover quicker from the seizures when taking Rescue Remedy.

We never got around to opening this bottle but I know from past experience that their products are good and really work. She was very ill and was somewhat agitated. I ordered this for a family member's cat Tasha. A beautiful black cat that she has had for about 12 years, her first pet as an adult. She was so special. She had allergies, eczema and anxiety that sometimes manifested in overgrooming and hair loss. All of these things sort of confused the issue when she got sick. This time she had Lymphatic cancer that had invaded her kidneys. Anyway she had to be euthanized before we could use the calming drops. She is no longer suffering. We will miss her. Rest in Peace dear Tasha. We love you.

I have a young toy poodle with major separation anxiety as well as issues with noises/hyperactivity/general anxiety and so I didn’t think this “natural” product would really do much compared to medications; but I was so wrong! Although my dog was already taking Fluoxetine (diagnosed with severe separation anxiety) I still noticed almost right away a general calming effect in my dog that was very helpful with the ongoing separation anxiety training I was doing with him. My dog is also very high energy, which coupled with his anxiety prevents him from being able to relax all day until passing out late at night. But with these drops I’ve noticed that he can relax much better & earlier each night. I add 4 drops to his 2 meals/day every day and I feel that the effect it has is definitely helping my dog a lot. So I will continue using this product daily and highly recommend this product to anyone with a dog that NEEDS HELP TO RELAX AND DE-STRESS!!! (Which helps me too in dealing with my dog!!)

RR is a MUST for multicat and multi pet households. I even put RR in my colony cats water bowls. Outdoor cats have such stressful lives. At home I put Rescue Remedy in my cats water everyday. I have both bowls of water and water fountains. They like both. Waste of RR in water fountains. Best to make a RR Spray and slightly spray their dry food, places they sleep, snooze in the sun, their fav cushion or blankie. If there's gonna be a change in their routine, double up on their RR. Someone coming for a visit. Schedule change at work. Emotional disturb ances (arguments and relat ionship problems). Cats are never in lala land. Their lives depend on us. To head off cats spraying furniture, lick ing their fur off in patches, daily vomiting...I put 4 drops of RR on my hands, slightly rub 'em together to activate the RR, slide my hands down kitties back, rub their foot pads, ears, under their chin. RR will help d-Stress them and you too.

We have two cats that we rescued from a home that had a colonial of 52 cats...Yikes! Rescue Remedy has saved the day! I put drops in their food every morning and after a few months we definitely saw a difference in them. They started to come around more and after 9 months they are even getting more comfortable in our home. This product isn't an instant overnight fix, however it does work you just need to be patient. Our two cats are now becoming more relaxed with us. I highly recommend this product

It's a long read, but it might be worth it if your pup is incontinent. I add 6 - 7 drops of this to ~ 48 oz of water for our youngest pup. She came to us with some severe issues (attacked our 9 lb Dachshund the first day, dog reactive, distrusting of humans, skittish, and incontinent due to a pelvic bladder as well as submissive urination). Our trainer recommended this to help our pup throughout the day. While it doesn't completely knock her out, it Does temper her enough to be bearable. The side benefit, though, is that it's seriously curbed her incontinence! I looked up the ingredients and the Rock Rose and Clematis are used for incontinence. She used to be on Incurin and Proin and is now off of both of those. 15 accidents in one day was not uncommon for her. 2 or 3 while on Proin and Incurin still occurred. Chewy was out of the Proin, and the Incurin was delayed (not Chewy's fault) so she was without for a week. I noticed she was not having accidents unless I completely ignored her pleas to go out (it's hard to tell sometimes with her). When I skipped the Rescue Remedy (RR) 2 days in a row there were 7 accidents on the 3rd day. I didn't put 2 and 2 together, though, and went back to using the RR, unaware of what was happening. The medication came in a couple days later, but she was back to having 0 accidents so I held off with administering it, thinking maybe she'd grown out of the pelvic bladder and perhaps it shifted into place. I forgot the RR again a week later and there were 5 accidents. This time I caught on. I've tested it a couple times and sure enough, RR affects her level of incontinence! She is off the Proin and Incurin 100% and I ensure she always gets water with the RR in it. 1 drop : 6 oz is approximately our measurement. Natural remedies are tough to nail down, and the RR instructions aren't the best. I gave 4 drops at once and she experienced severe hyperactivity and nervousness so I titrated down until I found the best dosage for her.

We have a chihuahua that just gets so nervous, she starts shaking and pacing long before thunderstorms hit our area. I believe if we put her on the clock she’d be more accurate than the weather man but there is no soothing her, and the older she gets the worse she gets. Well that being the case, for relatively the last 2 weeks of June and the first 2 weeks of July she a wreck. If I even put my foot down to hard she jumps. I did try CBD chews but when she gets that way she doesn’t eat either, and the one she did eat did nothing for her anxiety, it just made her clumsy. Finally a few years ago a foster friend of mine told me about Rescue Remedy. We had a pup to transport that was that was a shaking wreck in a car ride and we were talking a good 2 hrs. to go to this meet-n-greet. Well she gave her Rescue Remedy for that car ride and she barely shook once. The adoption that followed was a success and the following day I purchased my first bottle. Tinker takes it because she knows it helps (which surprises me) it’s not fool proof, and sometimes we need a second dose, but most of the time it allows her to rest and eat as normal and keep her fears under control. For myself, I’m glad I can help her with a natural stress relief and not have to worry about accidentally giving her an overdose. So yes, yea. The world has settled and we have barely a shake any more.

After moving to a new apartment at the tender young age of 18 months, Lilith revealed some deep separation anxiety manifested in not using the litter box and scratching a deep wound under her left ear. Since using Rescue Remedy, she allows me to apply her medicine regularly and can relax more in the new space.

It takes awhile... But it works!

My 3 year old Russian Blue "Diluted Calico" has a lot of anxiety issues which come out in mainly aggression and separation anxiety. I have been hoping to save myself

My 3 year old Russian Blue "Diluted Calico" has a lot of anxiety issues which come out in mainly aggression and separation anxiety. I have been hoping to save myself from an expensive Vet visit so I was recommended the Bach Holly Remedy and Rescue Remedy. I just add 2 drops of Holly and 4-5 drops of Rescue remedy in Kilala's water bowl and the results are very promising. Though I haven't seen how she acts around other animals yet, she is less confrontational with guests and doesn't cry at my apartment door anymore! I gotta say, I will definitely keep giving this to her through her water as a relaxant for her. Depending on how she is in the future to come, a Vet visit might still be necessary. It has only been about two weeks.
