There will be an expiration date printed on the bag to reference. Once opened, dry foods typically will keep for six weeks, depending on the condition it is kept. We recommend storing food in an air-tight container if possible.

I haven't had a cat in almost 20 years, so I asked our local rescue director what's best to feed her. She recommended the Nutrish cat food. Now I'm going to name the cat "Pushy Cat." LOL she loves it, and I think our dog does, too. This cat started coming into our house through the dog door, ate our dog's kibble for a while, and when the dog stopped chasing her out, we figured we'd been adopted. Sadie (our dog) and Ava (the name the cat came with) seem to be getting along by ignoring each other for now. Nice to have a lap four-legger again. Our other four-leggers were all to big to fit into a lap, even though they'd try.

He only loves this dry food!

I hope they never discontinue Rachel Ray Nutrish indoor formula cat food. We adopted our boy seven years ago from a shelter. They said he had digestive issues. First we tried Cat chow which was just ok. Then I picked up some Nutrish, and he just LOVED it! He can't eat other dry foods when I've tried to change it once in awhile but he always wants this one , the small size of the kibble is perfect This brand is perfect for him. If it's not broken...

My cat originally started with the Rachael Ray chicken flavor kibble, but I ordered this flavor for variety. My cat is a middle-aged indoor/outdoor cat and she has maintained her weight on this food very well over the past year...not that weight was ever really a problem for her. She developed a nasty Giardia infection in the fall and even though she didn't feel well she kept eating this food. Willie is 8.5 pounds and the small size of this kibble suits her well. Final information: when we adopted her years ago, we found out that she has latent feline coronavirus which is a GI disease; she has no issues tolerating this food and is energetic. Be aware that it is packaged in a double layer paper bag. I ordered 2 bags and a box of wet food pouches in order to meet the $50 minimum shipping charge, and somehow one of the kibble bags was sliced open by the flimsy pouch box and made a mess of the shipping box and my front hallway when I first lifted the bag up. It was bonanza-time for Willie who was ecstatic about the tasty mess! Anyway, I ripped the hole larger and awkwardly managed to pour the kibble into Willie's airtight storage canister. Attached is a photo of my cat headfirst in the canister; I'd left the room to go look for the lid.

Bella seems more in favor of her new Rachael Ray Nutrish Indoor Complete Chicken with Lentils & Salmon Recipe Natural Dry Cat Food over her also CHEWY purchase of her other dry cat food which she has eaten for months and continues to alternately eat. I know this because I have placed her water bowl and 2 dry food bowls both half filled and have tilted the dry food to one side in each bowl so I can see which she is eating more of. As you can see, Bella even eats her Nutrish dry food over her also CHEWY purchased treats (which will be eaten after her nap.) The things we do for our beloved fur babies!

Unpleasant discovery, Delivery needs help

Received my monthly multi case delivery on 7/16 as promised. The case was standing on end because the corner was compromised completely, investigating the contents showed one can leaking its contents in the case. I washed and pantry stocked the cans tossing the ruptured one. Things happen and loosing one can is not an issue. The balance of the order was basement shelved as was the habit. August 2 today retrieved the cardboard covered case of UT with Salmon and upon lifting the cardboard sleeve found the wiggling mass I photographed above, multiple cans were breached and not visible during stocking and the plastic covering allowed me to bring it to the trash can and bag it. The boxes of late have been arriving in terrible condition, they are heavy and awkward but at 74 years old I can bring them in without destroying them. Thank you for letting me vent. R Jurgens

Being budget conscious while avoiding the big brand cat foods isn't always an easy choice. There's certainly no shortage of high quality food on the market these days, even so every cats diet and finicky tastes are not the same. Wasn't sure what to make of Rachael Ray entering the already competitive pet food market, does she even own a cat(s)? I actually wasn't looking for a new dry food, just saw that this might be easier on the budget while not being junk food. After considering the price per pound and quality of the ingredients list for a weight management indoor cat food I decided to take the plunge. Started mixing in this food with the old to ease in the transition. It's been about a month and things are looking good. My cat's don't seem to be over-eating and there haven't been any adverse reactions nor does their breath smell funky. The pellets are just slightly smaller than most other foods, which I'm okay with as it doesn't appear to make eating or digesting any more difficult, still crunchy. I mix in a tiny bit of one of their favorite expensive dry foods, but RR is the bulk of the meal. The bag is not resealable and is made of lined sturdy paper, which is actually easier on the environment compared to plastic bags. All in all, no complaints and we're giving Rachel Nutrish two paws up.

When I rescued Paul E boy in 2018 {at 4 yrs old}; I knew he needed a healthy diet, as he is FIV+ {an illness deficient in digestive fluids.} I carefully chose Rachael Ray Nutrish Indoor Complete Chicken w/Lentils & Salmon for its nutrients; as well as a match for his taste preferences. To control his weight, the Vet recommended wet food first; then measured dry food. He loves this Rachel Ray food so much; he actually sits by his dry food bowl when he wants and/or needs it for his digestive process. Now at 10-years-old; he is an FIV+ anomaly. Grateful for his companionship.

I say unfortunately because I keep trying to switch to healthier options, but they won't eat anything else. Although I followed feeding instructions, this food always puts an unhealthy amount of weight on my cats. One of my cats has been on and off diets for years but she's just a big girl. I'm very strict with feeding times, and portions but I just cannot get them to maintain a healthy weight on this stuff... besides, it's like Crack or something because they scarf it down and then spend hours begging me for this food, like they aren't full after devouring a whole bowl. I tell Zoe she really needs to kick the stuff and go for something better, like the science diet, but she just whacks her tail around, huffing and puffing... fine by me, we'll see about that attitude when dinner time rolls around.

With the last two dry cat foods no longer making their food grain free, we were up a creek without a paddle. While Olivia would be fine; lovely Lucy would suffer. It also didn’t hurt that Nutrish was on sale. Andddddddd, Nutrish is weight management food. Our lovely Lucy is a TANK due to needing steroids as a kitten. To date, she has never met a plate of food she hasn’t liked and pushed her sister, Olivia, away from. Thankfully, they both like the new dry food.

This big bag came just in time for my evacuation north for Hurricane Irma. I stuck it in the trunk. It was good to know that even if we had no house left, we would have cat food. Also, my extremely shy little Thai Tabby girl spent motel time under the king sized beds. I would dismantle the whole bed twice a day to haul her out to feed her. She would take little sips of water from a spoon and I would stick pieces of kibble in her mouth, one at a time. So, really, the tiny size of the Nutrish cat food made that a lot easier. I was quite worried about her. After 8 days in the car and motels far to the north, she is happy and back to normal. Whew!
