These were purchased for Syrian hamsters and I'm overall happy with this product. It is a good price for the amount that you receive. I'd say that it isn't as soft as my usual brand, but I like that it isn't as dusty. The bedding pieces are thinner strips and I found some random hard clumps of it in the bag. But my hamsters have no issues burrowing in it or sneezing from it, so I will be buying this item again.

I recently adopted a rescue with badly mangled feet and was looking for a softer bedding for his cage...this is more like shredded Kleenex or tissue paper and while softer, it has zero absorbency and clung to his fur, feet and was in his hay and food bowls. Urine went straight through to the bottom of the cage and seemed to never dry out. I went through a large bag in 48 hours because of the need to constantly remove the wet spots. It might be ideal of hampsters or other burrowing pets but it is not for adult Guinea pigs! I will give the second bag I bought to a shelter and go back to my previous brand.

Rabbit hole hay is used for our rabbit as a bedding in his nesting area. He hardly uses it as a bathroom; it is so soft and fluffy. But when he does (rarely) litter in it, it's super absorbent and easy to contain and clean up without having to scoop up all the bedding and replace. We usually buy 2.5 cu feet and that lasts two months or so in a 2' X 3' box with a depth of 6 inches, using half a bag each time, but like I said he only nests in it. This time we bought 7 cu feet as it was a great price and we'll be stocked up for several months.
