Is there a way to give it to my cat without her eating around it? Because I don't think she either eats the food when we put it mixed in with her wet food or she eats around it? She seems to be taking after her late sister with being picky, but not as bad.

Answer by CherieEOct 23, 2025
My 2 cats had different takes on this stuff. 1 eats it if in wet food, the other dry food, however she stopped eating all together now , so I'm having to stop dosing at all. And now she's showing signs of discomfort , so trying to figure out if it's this stuff or something else.

Do you think it will help my cat who is scared of every sound ? He’s a long hair and will not let you groom him . Anyone have any issues with grooming and this helped

My cat was on Prozac for anxiety and wasn't eating and also wasn't using the litter box. The vet found nothing wrong, so I took him off the Prozac (weaned him off with the vet's instructions) but my cat was still having these issues. I tried everything but then saw this stuff and thought that I'd give it a try. To my relief, he started eating (after finding the right wet food, too) and sprinkled this stuff on it every day. He started eating all his food every day and having regular bm's... and his mood went right back to his old self. Wish I found this (and the right food) sooner.

The calming effect seemed to work as soon as I started giving this to my cat (without making her sleepy or lethargic like other calming supplements sometimes do). I started out with just half a packet spread out throughout each day, mixed into her wet food, for a week. She ate it up just fine and her poop was initially fine, but then when I increased the amount just a little bit more, she started getting terrible runny diarrhea. She can be skittish at times, and with the probiotic, she wasn't skittish at all. The main issue aside from the diarrhea was that it messed up her zoomies and energy while she was playing. She normally gets zoomies several times throughout the day, and each time, we'll have a full play session to wear her out, but with this probiotic, she would get her zoomies, run around for a minute, and then feel depleted of energy, so then we'd stop, and then her energy would come back a few minutes later, but then she'd get tired a minute later again, so we'd have these constant starts and stops and could never really get through a normal play session.

Ok, so the box says it takes up to 6 weeks to work. I guess this must have been true for my cat because I didn’t see any effects until she’d been taking it for about a month. She is absolutely terrified of the cleaning lady. I’m talking, full blown panic attacks, her whole body would shake and she wouldn’t eat for days and sometimes she’d pee on my bed she was so anxious. Since starting this supplement, the cleaning lady has come twice and her anxiety is DRASTICALLY reduced. It’s not at a 0 yet, but she’s at least still eating and sleeping and not shaking and crying like she used to. She just stays away from the cleaning lady now and even naps, which she had no ability to do before I bought these supplements

My vet recommended giving this to my cat to address food hoarding behavior. She has PTSD and gets really anxious about food, as a consequence she's overweight. She would also initiate fights with the other female. Since she has been taking this probiotic, her behaviors have really mellowed out. In addition, her fur is so much softer and her allergies are less intense. She will be getting this the rest of her life.

My picky cat actually takes this! And it works!

My cat is a complete and total demon spawn- he’s been on Prozac several times and it’s never worked. I tried this as a last resort in combo with pheromone collars (not sure these do anything LOL, we’ve tried before) and one other calming supplement and I’m so so happy with his attitude change. He is more open to strangers entering our home- no more hissing, growling, swatting, etc. He no longer chases/stalks/attacks my other cat and instead sits near her during play time and he even groomed her a bit today!!! He’s not peeing on the floors anymore (not a medical issue, that’s been ruled out four times hahaha and my two cats have 6 litter boxes), he’s not trying to actively hurt my parents dogs, my dad, or my brother. This is a true night and day difference and I’m so so happy that I’ve found something that’s helped so quickly. When I say NOTHING has worked in the past, I mean it. I’ve tried SSRIs, behaviorists, pheromone diffusers, separating him from other pets, switching his diet, providing more litterboxes/food/water, looking at potential medical problems, etc. My vet literally told me that he’s just naturally a not-nice cat so to have a supplement that he ACTUALLY eats (and enthusiastically at that!) and that truly helps him is already life changing for him, my other pets, and my family

I bought this upon recommendation of my cat’s veterinarian. My oldest female cat had become fearful of one of my younger cats who enjoys harassing her. The roles were reversed when the younger cat was a small kitten and she was fearful of the older cat who constantly threatened her. When the younger cat grew to be an adult she started intimidating and at times becoming very aggressive toward my old girl. It got so bad that the older cat did not want to leave her safe spaces and was not socializing with the rest of the household. After starting her on the Purina Calming Care supplement and also using some cat pheromone products she started coming out of her preferred room and actually standing up to the younger cat when confronted. After a period of time I was able to stop the supplement and now the cats can at least be around each other and my older one can hold her own without being so fearful. I really saw a positive change with the Calming Care.

My last ditch effort to have harmony amongst my cats

I have two 15-year-old cats, Matisse and Sabine, brother and sister. I introduced a kitten, Kato, into the household in November of 2024. It has been a nightmare since. Matisse and Sabine are hostile towards Kato. I tried air room diffuserd that were supposed to dispense calming pheromones. Didn't work I purchased the Purina Pro Plan supplement in addition to some "calming collars" in hopes to bring some harmony amongst the three felines. Matisse is still hostile towards Kato and there is a lot of hissing and Kato usually runs in fear. I really don't know what to do.

I have a scaredy cat who only comes out of hiding at night when we are quiet and laying in bed. The vet recommended trying this product. It is easily mixed with her wet food, it obviously doesn't add an unpleasant flavor or she wouldn't eat it, and she eats all of it. She has started being less scared--less immediately jumping and running away at every little movement. She has started coming downstairs to join the family a little more. I will definitely keep using and hope that usage continues to improve her.

Our cat had anxiety and was over grooming. I started mixing it into her wet food in mid-December and by mid-January she had quit grooming those spots too much and the hair has grown back. She also is relaxed enough that she’s doesn’t run when she hears a loud noise. My vet said she recommends this product. I’m going to see if she still needs the pheromone warmers. I suspect she won’t. That will save lots of money.
