What is the % of omega 3 and omega 6 in this formula?

I see the ingredient list has “animal digest” in the food. What exactly is that? What is the purpose of this ingredient? Thank you.

Answer by ChewyJan 27, 2019
Animal digest is hydrolyzed animal protein, such as muscle and soft tissue supplied by USDA-inspected facilities. It is extremely palatable and is an excellent source of high-quality protein.

How large are the nuggets?

Answer by ChewyMay 20, 2018
This kibble is approximately ½ of an inch.

Is there any way to find out the omega3 and omega6 percentages?

Answer by ChewySep 24, 2018
This formula contains an Omega-3 Fatty Acid content of 1.05%.

Woke up this morning to see my dog food which runs 70-80 dollars a bag was delivered last night? Late evening? I don't really know because instead of even driving up my driveway and putting it by my house, they just left it out by the road propped up on my mailbox. We were actually watching out for this yesterday too because of the weather but I guess you can't really watch out for someone that's too lazy to even bring it up to the house. The last order was just dropped right in the middle of my driveway but I didn't say anything because at least it was up by my house. This one is ridiculous though. You can either tell your lazy drivers or whoever it is that does your delivery to do better or I will gladly go back to just going to the store myself and getting the food. Because then I know it's not going to sit out by the road all night. I live in a rural area so luckily coyotes or raccoons didn't get into it or someone didn't steal it. If there is a problem with the next delivery I'm done with Chewy.

Was originally recommended to us when we rescued our Gabby girl who had just turned two and she was about 10 lbs. underweight. We weren't sure what food she was being fed, but were pretty sure it wasn't the highest quality. The vet at Banfield recommended this as she was young and very high energy. Fast forward two years. Gabby has put on about 8-10 lbs as she fluctuates between 46-48 lbs. She is solid muscle. She is high energy, gets 2 long walks a day in conjunction with a long off leash run at least once a day. She has also started doing agility, which entails two 1-hour private lessons every week. So in other words, Gabby is a very ACTIVE DOG. She tolerates this well, her stools are small, compact and not messy. She doesn't have excessive amounts of gas, but when she does it is stinky. I think she is getting the perfect amount of protein. Her vet is happy with her at her current weight and fitness level. For being a puppy mill dog, she is extremely healthy. Highly recommend Purina Pro Plan 30/20 for the right dog in the right circumstances.

We rescued a German Shepherd/Husky mix in November last year. The first few weeks she had really bad diarrhea. Learned it was giardia so we got that taken care of but then she was still having occasional diarrhea. We switched to the Pro Plan sensitive stomach salmon blend and the diarrhea stopped. She liked the food and we liked the results. However, she wasn't keeping weight on because she is a million mile a second type dog. She's always moving! When I found this sport formula with the higher amount of protein, in a salmon blend, I knew we had to try it! She's been on it for 4 months now and she looks amazing! Still no diarrhea, but she's gained 6 lbs and kept it on. Still sleek and trim, but no longer looks like a starving street dog. Thanks Pro Plan!

fc/afc Bob and Ed's Excellent Adventure has been struggelling with alergies his whole life my vet recently gave me a perscription for Purina HA this seemed to help but when we went to the National Amateur Retriever championships in Ronan Montana this spring he could not keep weight on a pro trainer I met told me about the Purina salomon with 30/20 formula this was the same level of protien that he was used to in the regular sport this seems to be working well. Chef is currently the high point all age yellow in the country Thanks!

We started feeding this Pro Plan 30/20 Salmon last summer and noticed a difference right away in skin coat quality, muscle definition, and stamina. This is a great diet for helping to rebuild dogs that are suffering from weight loss or struggle with weight loss when pushed hard. We are currently feeding the # 2 money earning dog in the world in pro series hunting competition and 4 time World Champion Redbone Female. We will continue to feed it until we find something better.

We have 2 English Bulldogs who have been on grain free food for years. When picking up our 2nd one, their breeder, who we trust, surprised us when she recommended Purina Pro Plan because it's not grain free! We talked about the switch and this particular food for awhile. After also doing research, we decided to switch Ellie and Walter's food. Not only has their coat changed but Ellie's seasonal alopecia patch that she has on both sides, is getting better! Hair is growing in fast. They both love this food. So happy to have switched from an expensive "natural" food to Purina Pro Plan. Especially the All Life Stages. Thanks Chewy for having this in stock and on auto delivery!!

We have an 8.5 month old boxer that was having a lot of issues with food and lacked energy which is crazy for a boxer. We fed science diet for over 15 years to our late boxer and maltipoo with excellent results. However our new puppy just couldn’t handle it. After months of searching and trying RAW with zero success we were told to try this. The first two weeks there was no change and we almost gave up but by the middle of the third week it was a complete 180! She is finally thriving and looking fantastic. We are so happy we gave this a try. Highly recommend it! Especially for Boxers.

Not quite sure what is going on but my dogs used to do well on this and now they are unenthusiastic about it, and one dog is practically on a hunger strike. My male weimaraner has such a sensitive stomach that this was literally the only food he could eat without gas and vomiting. He still seems to be ok on it but my female wants nothing to do with it anymore. She will wait all day, refusing to eat, until bedtime.. and then she's starving and can't hardly sleep all night without eating a little of it. She will eat literally anything else but eats a few bites of this food and doesn't want it. The male used to be a voracious eater too and now just grazes a little. Its all strange.

Maggie is a picky eater - wanted to try this one

I’m not sure about this ( my dog isn’t sure about it I meant ) I thought at first she would gobble this up but she ate it first 2-3 days then lost interest. Maggie came to me w stomach issues & prescyption food - she was surrendered after her owner got cancer & was regurgitating her food 2-3 x a day . It was luckily a problem that stopped completely when I adopted her ( within 2 weeks of fostering her ) she is the smartest dog I’ve ever had ( a trained trick dog w advanced titles ) so somehow she knew this was home for good within the first week and the regurgitating her food stopped , the buying of a prescription food stopped , bc it was apparent It was due to stress , obviously of losing her mom & being surrendered- she knew she was home here the first day ( I believe ) So it’s been almost a year of trying different purina pro plan foods ( my vet is a fan of purina pro plan & I am a fan of my vet so I buy the foods she recommends ( lol) Scooter gas been on the chicken rice pro plan for years ! - Maggie itches if she eats chicken so we decided salmon would be best for her. I have a grand dog that’s on the salmon so I’ve tried the periodic pro plant all the salmon except for this one- so I decided to try it and see if it’ll work. I also tried the special dog food. That’s the hydrolyzed protein so she’s having a mixture of both the hydrolyzed protein Purina, and this together she prefers the hydrolyzed protein this chicken flavored, so that may be why she eats it (?) In other words, I’m not sure if this food is gonna be a keeper ir if I’ll order it again , so far she’s not showing a lot of interest in it. I’ll probably continue to order the other kind of pro plan and probably use the rest of this up at first, I thought she seemed to love it, but I think she does that with any kind of new food because it’s something different . I gave it four stars because of the fact it’s really it implies by the cover that’s for sport dogs or athletic dogs. I think that’s little bit confusing and I wish they would make that a little clearer ( Purina not Chewy of course )because I was really reticent to buy this becauseof the cover for Maggie even though she’s a trick dog and she’s active she’s not a “ sport “ dog (?) I don’t know what the 30/20 means in the food (?) I guess it’s high protein (?) So the jury still out on whether or not I’ll re order this exact food . I most likely would go back to this regular salmon pro plan. Just look at her grin and tell me you wouldn’t do anything to make this doll happy? Lol
